I still remember playing this game in a 7-Eleven when I was nine or ten years old. I still have some great memories of the arcade (machines) back when it was literally everywhere. Good times.
I absolutely adore this game. I would play it daily at my nearby convenience store and was one of the very first games I purchased for my Super Famicom all while Final Fight was still heavy in the arcades! Since the early 90's I've owned Final Fight for the following; 1) Super Famicom. 2) Sega CD (excellent port). 3) xBox via Capcpm Classics. 4) PS3 via PSN Double Impact. 5) iOS. 6) Nintendo Switch. There is no good reason why Capcom has not re invested $ into this series for 1) revamp of the original game with updated HD graphics and 2) a proper sequel.
It's ridicolous how they keep throwing more and more obscure characters from Final Fight in modern Street Fighter games... yet they still don't include Geki, the absolute best character from Street Fighter 1.
Capcom drop the ball on Street Fighters 30th Anniversary they should have made a Street Fighter game with all the characters from Street Fighter One to Street Fighter 4.
Streets of Fire, what a wonderful somewhat overlooked gem of a movie. Many people haven’t even heard of this movie, now that is a crime. The soundtrack of this movie is wonderful too, checkout it out on RUclips. The track “Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young” alone is awesome. The movies has a strange, timeless feel to it. It’s like a mix of the 1950’s & 80’s. A wonderful movie, must be checked out. My first experience of playing this franchise was the version on the Gameboy Advance, called Final Fight One. And it’s a pretty good port too, impressive for a GBA game.
1) There is no preproduction proof that Final Fight was supposed to be "Street Fighter '89." At one point in development, a team member suggested the name, but upon feedback in trials, it was confirmed a bad idea. 2) The Andore Family was inspired by a friend of Nintendo of Japan. 2) Lou Ferrigno has a "g" in the name.
Still got love for this game after all these years. I knew people that played the coin-op so much they could finish it with a single credit for each player. I still remember being blown away by Final Fight on the SNES, although for some reason I never bought it... I did however get the MegaCD version which was superb. I still own the game as a part of a 360 Capcom compilation. Might have to dig it out...
Would be great to see you cover Saturday Night Slam Masters / Muscle Bomber: The Body Explosion with it's follow up Muscle Bomber Duo: Ultimate Team Battle and the sequel Ring of Destruction: Slam Masters II / Super Muscle Bomber: The International Blowout for some Mike Haggar action.
Talking more about arcade games is, I think, a good idea. There are a lot of videos on RUclips about games on home consoles. Arcade games are less discussed.
I had the SNES version of this on 3.5" floppy disks before, since I had a UFO 18mbit disk unit for my Super Famicom. I have no idea if the games I had on disk still work or not. I got to enjoy Final fight on one of the Capcom Classic collections on the original Xbox.
I think Metro City is supposed to be in New Jersey, with Manhattan, New York in the background across the water. I wouldn't have thought of this until I moved to the East Coast!
I was so lucky as a kid that divorced parents got me a a mega cd when just released and loved the arcade final fight every time the fare came round to town... wanted it at home and didnt like the snes version due to the missing 'guy' etc.. (plus didn't own a snes was probably another reason.) i was so happy when it was released on mega cd often going back to my mums with the cd just to play the soundtrack on her hifi...good times.
Hey, Top Hat Gaming Man. How about you do a video on Battle Circuit? This was Capcom's last beat 'em up game released for the arcade and it is only released in Japan & Europe until the release of Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle on modern consoles like the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
Mike Haggar was in Saturday night slam masters which is a very good and fun game...Capcom should have included Haggar and a few characters from slam masters in the street fighter titles...

Great coverage! Your work is outstanding, well, Final Fight is like the competitor of SEGA’s Streets of Rage games, if this is going to be a series dedicated to Final Fight, how about a video telling why FF 2 & FF 3 are only released on consoles and there is no arcade version of them as far as I know.
The Japanese version of Final Fight Guy was my first exposure to the series (I don’t think I’ve ever seen the arcade machine in the wild) so the omissions of the SNES version weren’t as bothersome to me as they were to most people and it’s still a game I often replay (although I also own the Japanese JAMMA board which does tend to get more play). I still enjoy the SNES version despite its drawbacks, I think it’s mostly cheapness on Capcom’s part that meant we didn’t get a better version as a larger cartridge could have included the scene transitions, all three characters and the missing level. After all, Final Fight 2 had all those things so it was possible! In fact according to The Cutting Room Floor there is unfinished code in the game for a two player mode and the missing level so it’s possibly also lack of time as well as cartridge space to blame. Sadly the limitation of no more than three enemies was present in all the SNES Final Fight games so that’s probably down to the SNES CPU. I’m hoping maybe the SA-1 hacks being done might also include a version of Final Fight that displays more enemies!
Growing up, I never had a Super Nintendo. I had the Sega Genesis and Sega CD. I grew up playing Streets of Rage and Streets of Rage 2. Final Fight was seen as a "weak wannabe" by me and my friends. But also seemed to be the Nintendo exclusive. I never played until I got Final Fight CD, which was cool. But I really got into the series when I recognized Hugo and Poison in Street Fighter 3: Third Strike! And again in Street Fighter 4. I wanted to know EVERYTHING that made them cross over!
brogo ram really in what game? I play every sf game up to third strike but dont even entertain anything after that. I’m destroying some people online with 30th anniversary as we speak 😎

I absolutely adore this game. I would play it daily at my nearby convenience store and was one of the very first games I purchased for my Super Famicom all while Final Fight was still heavy in the arcades! Since the early 90's I've owned Final Fight for the following;
1) Super Famicom.
Beat 'em ups have been pretty dead as a genre ever since the 32-bit consoles came around. They never worked quite as well in full 3D.
@THGM Correction, Hagar DID become playable in Marvel vs Capcom Infinity.
It's ridicolous how they keep throwing more and more obscure characters from Final Fight in modern Street Fighter games... yet they still don't include Geki, the absolute best character from Street Fighter 1.
Capcom should also throw in characters from Slam Masters and Rival Schools as well in the next Street Fighter as well.
Capcom drop the ball on Street Fighters 30th Anniversary they should have made a Street Fighter game with all the characters from Street Fighter One to Street Fighter 4.
I think we've seen enough official Poison art to say either she's actually a woman this whole time, or her surgeon is really good at avoiding scars.
I was kinda hoping you'd mention the GBA version of the game but great video overall.
Love your videos mate. You should keep doing more on FF but also do a video about Streets of Rage. That would be awesome.
Great game! I used to play it on mame quite alot back in the day along with the simpsons arcade game and turtles, metal slug etc.
Talking more about arcade games is, I think, a good idea. There are a lot of videos on RUclips about games on home consoles. Arcade games are less discussed.
Hugo vs Hulk that is a dream match
I feel weird about my teenage nights with my Poison poster now.
Don't worry, she was tugging one out over you too ;)

Not anymore.
Now I have Mileena

@@TheCastellan No thanks.
I am conservative.
Don't we all?
I had the SNES version of this on 3.5" floppy disks before, since I had a UFO 18mbit disk unit for my Super Famicom. I have no idea if the games I had on disk still work or not. I got to enjoy Final fight on one of the Capcom Classic collections on the original Xbox.
I think Metro City is supposed to be in New Jersey, with Manhattan, New York in the background across the water. I wouldn't have thought of this until I moved to the East Coast!
Fun Fact:
Ryu and I were originally going to be the playable characters in Final Fight.
OK, we need the mad history of Saturday Night Slam Masters, so we can talk about the crossover success of Mike Haggar.
Wow thank you learned so much
5:40 So Baltimore ?
Mike Haggar was in Saturday night slam masters which is a very good and fun game...Capcom should have included Haggar and a few characters from slam masters in the street fighter titles...
Very interesting stuff! The music is so good in this game. 🦄🦄🦄
But that Subway theme though 🙌🏿
MrCalverino Yeeeeees! It’s a bop! It was definitely one of my favorite level themes in the game! 😌
@@kiko485 I have it on cd, I jam it in the car
Hagger was also in a ST-V arcade game called Final Fight Revenge.
So were the other Final Fight characters. It was a Final Fight game, after all.
The game appeared in the Capcom Classics Collections on PS2/Xbox and PSP as arcade version
love final fight! thanks for the back story T.H.
That speccy version looks slow, and monochrome, but the graphics are impressive!
Loved this series!
Omg I still can remember growing up and going to the arcades and spending alot of time and quarters trying to finish this game lol merry Christmas and a happy new year too all
@Imitation Station your welcome who ever you are? I'm peter from Hamilton Ontario Canada
Are you going to do videos about fighting games from SNK?
I hope Capcom eventually releases a new Final Fight that lets you play as Poison: I love her!
did this mans really forget about my Canadian homie Abigail..
I have just done a quick Google search, it would be because I have never played Street Fighter V yet! Too new for me! Another character queue jumps Haggar Grrrrr
14:19
@@TopHatGamingManChannel Is MVC3 also too new for you? Haggar was in that, or is it specifically a Street Fighter debut you're waiting for?
@@docthefaust4519 I was just talking Street Fighter, if we are going broader, we may as well throw Muscle Bomber in there as well, where he appeared about 20 years before MVC3 lol
The Mad History of D.D. Crew, Go!
Final Fight 2 and 3 Super Nintendo Only. Capcom didn't make both of Sega Genesis.
The arcade version and sega cd is really the best way to enjoy this game.
Don't they have it on the SNk arcade classics ps2/psp/nintendo wii n recently on the SNk anniversary collection on the Nintendo Switch??
Yep i believe you are correct.
You can play Final Fight on a Sony Psp and the port is excellent only downside does not have the Sega CD soundtrack version.
Bruh, when Final Fight first came out, I was hooked on that shit. $20....$40.....man please.
Isn't rival schools also in same universe of street fighter and final fight?
Yes it is.
Two of Rival Schools Characters is in Karin's Beach Stage in Street Fighter 5.
