I used to really love the series, the movie without a doubt still holds up and while I can't fully speak for the show since I haven't watched it in about 6 years it's still seemingly pretty good. But while it seems it's had a slight decrease in quality it still was a big part of my early life.

One of the most memorable episodes (for me at least), was the fear of the dark one. The one where George got lost in a cave and then got a fear of monsters in the dark. It was really comforting to me as a kid, and I can remember the sound design was always a delight to listen to. I always wished I could have gone on those silly little adventures with him, exploring the countryside and discovering new things. One of my favorite characters was the lobby dog, Hundley. He was always so suspicious of George and just wanted to keep everything calm and orderly. There was one episode, where George got himself and Hundley locked out of the apartment the two of them got lost in the city at night, but then they realized they needed to retrace their steps, using the sounds of the city. I can still hear the squawking of the bird from the pet shop they passed, and the man playing his trumpet. The show was a big part of my childhood, and it will always have a special place in my heart, along with many other pbs kids shows.

The ending felt kinda hopeless and unfortunate cause George knocked over something and cause a huge mess but it just zoomed out into the night sky as Hundley desperately howled

Curious George is the goat out of all the pbs shows for me. Such a nice comfortable atmosphere, great characters, and music. The movie was great, too, though I’m still curious to this day how the canon works since the show appears to be different from the movie (though obviously based on it), yet all the sequels to the original movie appear to be based on the cartoon universe. Also, I gotta say, I love the Christmas movie so much. Good times…. I miss being a kid man

My theory is that Ted never wore yellow as a child after the zany Island incident, then when he said in the store, it reminded him of his childhood. And now it’s really special to him. Stanley (my fanmade name for the doorman in the TV show) Is probably the son of Ivan, the doorman from the first two movies. I don’t count any of the movies as canon except for the original, follow that monkey, twins in the spring, Halloween boo fest, and the Christmas special.
Professor Wiseman likely replaced Professor Bloomsbury’s position after he retired or passed away. That’s just my personal headcannon though

    1. I'm surprised the US held off on airing seasons 10-12 for so long. I mean, they aired on Family Jr in Canada from October 2018-February 2020 before coming to Peacock in July 2020 and then PBS Kids starting in October of that same year. I mean, they all have copyright years of 2017-2019.
    2. One thing I think is worth mentioning is that the show was developed by Joe Fallon, who worked on the early seasons of Arthur. He stopped working on the show after season 9, with the story editors for seasons 10-15 being composed of people who already worked on the show before such as Arthur veterans Peter K. Hirsch, Raye Lankford, and Ken Scarborough, though season 11/12 did bring in Animaniacs writer Sherri Stoner as another story editor. Speaking of the cartoon, the sequels released from 2010-2021 were written by people who worked on the cartoon such as Chuck Tately, Glen Berger, the aforementioned Sherri Stoner, and Elana Lesser & Cliff Ruby.

FUN FACT: "Curious George" also had two (admittedly) underrated claymation shorts in the 80's by John Clark Matthews (who also did claymations for "Frog And Toad"). Side Note-Frank Welker's a great voice actor and his rendition of George was cute (and the song "Upside Down" is just a warm, fuzzy feeling of nostalgia), the claymation George was downright adorable!!

by far my most favorite animated series I’ve ever watched.
Fun fact: In the original Curious George books, George nearly drowns, goes to prison, trashes a dinosaur exhibit, saves an ostrich from choking, washes dishes at an Italian restaurant, gets sent into space, kidnaps a cow, learns how to fold a paper boat, joins the circus and swallows a puzzle piece. Just to name a few adventures.

Curious George also aired in the UK too. The programme debuted on CITV in October 2006. CITV had actually started out as a mere programming block in January 1983 before becoming it's own channel in March 2006. From November 2009 to January 2013, the programme was solely aired on Mini CITV, CITV's programming block for preschool programmes. Mini CITV was axed in January 2013 and Curious George then reverted to airing randomly again on CITV until January 2014, where it was removed from the channel as a result of CITV's plan to stop airing preschool programming on the channel. CITV is expected to shut down completely in autumn later this year, becoming an online streaming service instead.
