Makes me sad that Donkey Kong Jr had so much going on for him, even his own saturday morning cartoon, and then Nintendo just decides to abandon the character.
Well, technically, he is still used considering the donkey Kong from Donkey Kong. Jr. became cranky Kong and Jr is the donkey Kong we know today.
@@samuelmorrow1730 Modern DK and DK Jr bear no resemblance whatsoever, same goes to Cranky and arcade DK. I don't care who supports this idea, even if it's Nintendo and Miyamoto, I will never buy into that mumbo jumbo.
Umm actually it is quite literally canon that it is the same Donkey Kong. You clearly haven't played a modern Donkey Kong game. Furthermore you should know better than to judge by appearances.
@@JPowersthepro Dunno about you pal, but I've played all DKC games and DK 64. Also the games never even directly addressed that DK and Jr were the same; at most they implied that Cranky and arcade DK were the same character in the early DKC games, which can be very easily retconned, and Nintendo itself has referred to both arcade DK and modern DK as the same character many times already, so nice try. Either way, even if it was fully canon, it doesn't matter, cuz if you had good reading comprehension, you'd see that I literally said that I don't care if even Nintendo confirms this. It's called a headcanon. And finally, yes you should be able to identify a ficticious character by his appearance and iconic features alone, otherwise you might as well be blind lmao.
@me-xz8zf I believe he was referring to aging, but you might not know what that is, so let me explain it. When you're a baby, you look one way, and then as the years go by, your body starts to change. Suddenly, you look completely different even though you are the same person.

Freddy Fazbear is canon in the Donkey Kong Jr. Cinematic Universe.
If I were to review each Saturday Supercade cartoon almost every one would basically boil down to "This would be such a good/interesting cartoon if they didn't format it into a Scooby Doo knockoff."

Cranky Kong makes a comment in donkey kong country where he basically says that he was the original Donkey Kong from the arcade game, so I was always under the assumption that current Donkey Kong is Donkey Kong Jr.

Think of it like this;
The roles are revserved from the Donkey Kong series.
In the DK series, Donkey Kong is a MENACE and it's usually Mario and Pauline that have to chase after him to get him out of trouble.
In this, Jr is the one who is the hero and usually rescues and protects Bones who, despite being clumsy, cares for Jr so Bones is Jr's DK.
What an absolute fever dream of a cartoon.

last this one heard, Jr. is actually the current DK, while original DK is Cranky Kong. Which implies that Kongs change their names over time, likely with life events or new hobbies. Hence how everyone else's name so perfectly matches themselves.
So disappointed you didn't mention the final episode is about Bones finding out who she truly was and everyone being okay with that and accepting her - now for the actual ending ARG bit: The camera pans around to what looks like a basement or attic by the way the roof looks (?), as for the note is obviously gibberish but its kinda hard to read due to the filter + the crumpling of the paper making it especially tricky to tell what letters there are, yet from the letters I did find I tried to see if any cipher matched up to the note yet I couldn't find any actual results so now I'm wondering if we'll receive a cipher in the future or there's a piece not found, either way great video and I'm interested in the little ARG story going on

So it wasn’t to execute animators. It was a failed German intelligence plan to sabotage the United States during World War 2. Its a funny coincidence that Henry Hawk debuted that same day lol

Donkey Kong Junior's whereabouts in the Mario series is a mystery.
It is possible he croaked since the series isn't beyond having that happen to characters. Idk maybe Bowser did it. The reason I say this is the Donkey Kong Junior in Mario Tennis seems to be a younger one, and since Baby Mario is also in this game it's probably because of time travel. I see it as they need to travel back in time to get a younger DK Jr for such an event since he is no longer around. Keep in mind we see an adult DK Jr in Super Mario Kart and he is bigger than his son.
He wasn't in the movie probably because they wanted to give Mario something to relate to DK over, and have DK the third in the movie even though he wouldn't have existed yet if we had DK Jr.
They didn't change the continuity in the games when it came to DK Jr. The Movieverse is it's own continuity while the games still have Cranky Kong as DK's grandfather.
Unlike DK Jr who had references in an out of games as being the son of DK Snr and actively part of major games. Donkey Kong Junior, Donkey Kong 94, Super Mario Kart, and Mario Tennis. With the additional information in and out of game about Cranky being the og DK and the current DK's grandfather. The Koopalings didn't have this, they only had a select few manuals call them Bowser's Kids. Retcons are meant to solve contradicts in a continuity and with the introduction of Bowser Jr, the Koopalings also being Bowser's kids became a problem. Since Mario is in his 20s and Bowser is slightly older than Mario, there wouldn't have been time for the Kooaplings and then Bowser Jr. So retcon. In addition the Koopalings are now established as adult Koopas.
Miyamoto while useful for lore here and there isn't the best when it comes to lore answers. Which why he gives answers like that since he actively avoids lore answers for the most part or gives straight up wrong answers.
Also, Koopas and most others in the Mario world are delivered by storks, and Bowser Jr probably doesn't have a mom.

Bones is probably the most entertaining character on this show. It was always fun anticipating how he would fuck up whatever he was doing. It wasn't always obvious, he found very unique ways to fuck up.

Neither DK's show nor the show DK Jr. was on are on my local pirating site. That has to show how rare it is. (So weird they're not there, too, that place has a bunch of old stuff I've never heard of before.)
