It's weird but this song just makes me want to totally break down. It's a song that truly captures how it feels to be a little kid discovering the world. I would give anything to be that little kid again. There are few times a man is allowed to cry, and listening to this song is one of them.

Yep. This song reminds me of my Grandma. She died a few years ago, yet I still miss her like she died yesterday. I miss her more than ever now that COVID has hit. It reminds us how many lives we take for granted.
My son used to love this song and Curious George when he was like 4 or 5. He's 11 now and far removed from the "kiddy stuff." This song brings me back to when he was my little man that I used to cuddle with and carry around the house. Man, time surely flies.
My dad used to read me the Curious George books and watch the tv show with me when I was little. Coming from someone a little older than your son, he will look back at those memories and smile like how I am now. You sound like a good dad.
bruh wtf, I’m tearing up rn bc this song makes me so sad yet really happy at the same time. I’m so stressed with school work, deciding what I want to do with my life, what college I want to go to, and overall life in general. I just want to be a kid again.
In the same place and I just realized that my childhood is over. Like I’m not in that stage of my life anymore. But you know what? Childhood isn’t the only good part of life. As long as we keep our imagination, curiosity, smile, and open-mindedness life will be pretty darn good :) Still crying tho 😬
I searched this up after it popped up in my head today. As soon as it started playing, I legit broke down thinking of the past and future and how far I’ve came. Playing it literally snatched me through a timeline of my life, replaying memories with my family. I’m only typing this because this is the only song from my childhood that’s done that.
I am in my late 30s. This movie came out when i was in high school and worked at the movie theater. Some of my fav memories ever. I am going to watch it with my children this weekend. It's been awhile... long while.
I can’t even describe the way I feel every time I hear this. It’s like my gut sinks and I get so sentimental about the time that’s passed. Truly one of the greatest childhood songs of all time.
It's crazy how everyone feels the same about this song I heard this for the first time in years and was just bombarded with vivid memories of being a little child and watching the Curious George movie over and over again... those were the days :)
It's so insane to me, because I feel like every person in this comment section is just a part of me. We're all people who wish they could find innocence again.
@@Sebastiantheonewithlonghair I know dude it's bittersweet knowing that there are plenty of others who feel like me but knowing I can never go back to the good old days again... I guess this is the precursor to a midlife crisis

Its crazy to think about, but the play button on this song might as well be a bittersweet button, because I can hit play and get the same feeling everytime. A place filled with magic at every corner.

Nothing like scrolling through shorts and hearing this song like "wait, that sounds like Curious George the movie where the Man in the Yellow hat and George first meet." Some times we need our childhood to find us in our darkest hours and remind us why we smiled as kids.
To anyone who is struggling currently, the darkness doesn't last forever, the light is yet to shine. Somedays you will have days with a little bit of light peaking or days of complete darkness, but remember the light is yet to shine, don't give up please. *Thank you all so much for the 600 likes they mean so much to me that my quote is helping people.
I remember in the intro to the actual movie curious George was painting a house he wasn’t supposed to be and I haven’t watched it since I was 5 and it 16
For me that feeling comes hearing the tinker bell and Spider-Man theme songs. Intense memories from when I was a lot younger just flow through my head.
It's never been pure you just haven't seen the full picture same with me. There was columbine, 9/11s 1980s energy crisis, the government getting people hooked on drugs, the cold war, the second world war, the great depression, the Spanish flu. As much as I wish it was pure nothing has been it will never be. Ignorance is bliss🎉 ( me right now🤡)
@@gamedictionary7651 it's all duality. life is both beautiful and fucking terrifying. we become what we focus on, and i consciously choose to focus on the light of our world. this doesn't mean i am ignorant to the woes, it means i refuse to let it control my life. i know you are able to do the same, because we are all co-creators of our reality. bless you friend
I regret all those times i said "I wish i was older". Take me back please. To those days when I'd put Curious George on my Dvd player just to listen to jack johnsons songs.
Yeah. It really sucks to think about the fact that someday we'll all die. It's the only thing we can all be sure of, yet I think everyone on earth has wished at one point they could be closer to that moment. Keep me as far away from that as possible. I'll happily live for an eternity in a small room, with a tv, and this movie.
I’m going to get emotional for a minute. My dad passed away in 2011 from liver cancer. But I remember when he took my sister and I to the movies to see this. I was 7-8 at the time and my sister who was in preschool at the time. After the movie he took us to go get Wendy’s, where they had the curious George toy promotions and we all got different types and where all acting like idiots the entire time laughing, (including my dad). My sister and I are now in college. This song brings back all the good memories. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Stay safe out there everybody.
I'm so sorry. I've been looking through these comments with this song on repeat, just crying my eyes out. I hope you never lose those memories, because so long as you don't, your Dad is alive inside of you
My dad played guitar and played this song so beautifully and he passed away last march from brain cancer but I am playing the beautiful music after him.
I felt the same childhood nostalgia that everyone felt, but I came to the sudden realization of what curious George means to me now. From a life of simplicity to that of studying and working, I now appreciate curious George so much more. The story tells of someone moving from a jungle, full of curiosity and imagination moving to a city, where people focus and are chained down by work and studying. Despite this, George is able to maintain his curiosity by going on various adventures and finding new ways to look at his new life. And although he seems sad to have moved on, he appreciated his friends and himself. For in the end, the only thing you need to be happy in your new life is maintaining that imagination, that curiosity you once had. That is what Curious George means to me now.
My baby's almost 22. I had him at 19. It felt like it took forever just to get him potty trained and now he's a grown man and everything. How did that happen!
Now I am an 18-year-old teenage boy, about to attend university this fall. I have started to worry about my life, my future career, my family, and everything else. When I hear this song again, I want to go back to being a 5-year-old kid who was curious about everything in life and did things without worry or doubt.
weird thing i wanna let off my chest.as i grow older, now 22, the world has gotten so much more complicated. i use this song as an empowerment. a symbol of what i once was and how i can carry that pure innocent energy to my behavior and strive to be the best / happiest i can be. id say im doing a pretty damn good job at it, and i hope others do the same. anyone who grew up with this nostolgia, i hope youre also attempting to make the world a better place by simply existing and spreading good energy.
The best music will always make you feel that way. My advice? Don't watch music videos. That way when you hear a song it'll take you right back to where you were when you first heard it.
Watching this when I was 13-14 y.o and having younger sisters, I thought the movie was for them. I was rushing to be older and to become an adult, not realizing the simplicity of life during that time period had peaked. I wasn’t living in the moment. I’ll try my best to live in the moment now as I’m 31.
Who remembers this, “I can do this all day, I can do thi.., AAH, cramp, cramp, cramp!” Said the man in the yellow hat, while George is running around the tree with the hat
I normally don’t make comments like this, but this song touches my heart as a kid. I’m thirteen years old and am currently facing hard times with behavior, I try my entire best to stay good, but sometimes things slip. I come back to this song every now and then because it reminds me of my childhood, sitting down, carefree in the TV room watching the Curious George movie. Nothing can describe nostalgia better than this song to me. God bless you all :)
I’ve always wondered if Jack knows how much of an impact he made on our childhoods. Curious George was one of my favorite movies growing up, and this song was always my favorite part. As I’ve gotten older and matured, i’ve been searching for a way to get that feeling of pure joy you only feel as a child, and this masterpiece of a song allows me to feel it once again. I’m a senior in high school now, i’ve got a job and i’m applying for colleges. But no matter what I do or where I go, i’ll always play this song. Thank you Jack, for making my childhood as amazing as possible.
I’m a junior in college and I’m the same way. I remember watching this in theaters with my dad multiple times because he knew I liked it so much that he took me to see it 3-4 times.
this song makes me wanna cry. curious george was my childhood. this is so nostalgic i just can’t put it into words🥲. thank you for making this song jack.
It has been YEARS since I first heard this song on Curious George. Today, I was at a music club meeting and this song was suggested and it felt like I was shot with a bullet of nostalgia. Now I'm here, bawling, eyes flooding with tears of nostalgia. Curious Geroge was a major part of my childhood. I miss those simpler times.
I’m a huge fan of music, and I have many favourite songs, but this is one of two that really make me FEEL something. The other is Everlong by Foo Fighters. A pure feeling of nostalgia.
i first heard this song watching a curious george movie in the hospital with my mom when i was like 7. it was one of the last times i saw her before she passed, from leukemia, and its been my favorite song since. i had no idea what it was called, i would just hum the melody. this particular youtube recommended section is just meant to be. i know my moms looking down singing with me. love you, mom. rest in paradise 12/19/12 people of the internet, your support really means a lot to me, i love you all dearly. but please stop saying "homie" or "brother," bc im not really a dude. again, thank you all so much. i love each and every one of you. have a great life.
Man. Im sitting here, crying, just like a kid. 😔 this reminds me of my father. He used to watch this with me. He died though a few years ago. I wish I could find jack Johnson and tell him “thank you. Thank you for giving me a wonderful childhood”
Aww, he is waiting for you and you will relive anything or everything together once you go where he is. Sending you a hug as someone who lost his mom. We're here for a lesson. I'm glad your dad was so wonderful but I'm very sorry for your loss. Love from where the ocean meets the land.
Thank you everyone for your thanks. I really appreciate it ❤️ me and my dad was very close but he never told me he had cancer because he didn’t want me and my brother to worry. So when we found out he had no chance of surviving. I completely broke down. I didn’t smile for 1 year if I remember correctly. But I learned that if you have so much pain it’s better to just....let go... and that’s what he did. I hope he’s pain is gone and that he is resting now. Because he really deserves it. He was the best person I knew. Always there for me. To be my friend or father when I needed it. Thank you so much for your thanks. It really means a lot to me❤️
This song reminds me of when life was simple. 6 year old me just sitting on my racecar bed and reading Curious George book with my mom. No stress, no worries. Just being a kid.
we all wish for the simple things in life we don't always get them but when we do we should cherish them while their here we may not get the chance again
@@chubbyz8713 My parents used to play it in the car and stuff, it's always been so comforting to hear I'm glad it helped you so much! I'm still working on finding stuff to help with my focus issues, but I got meds recently and they definitely help at school
I don't know why but when he sings "Please don't go away" and "Is this how it's supposed to be?" it's like growing up and realizing how hard and unfair the world is and you're begging your childhood and happy feelings to stay. But they can't. It makes me wanna cry so bad
In 2015, my 1 year old daughter was seriously burned in a house fire. She spent 5 months in the hospital. The children's hospital she was in provided lots of kids movies, but this Curious George Movie was the only one she cared about. She watched it every day, multiple times a day. This song holds a special place in my heart. Thanks for helping get us through some really tough days

I'm only 14, but i 100% understand that feeling, some things just lose their charm after a while, thats what makes us move on to new things, and grow as humans!

bruh wtf, I’m tearing up rn bc this song makes me so sad yet really happy at the same time.
As long as we keep our imagination, curiosity, smile, and open-mindedness life will be pretty darn good :) Still crying tho 😬
it’s terrible because we’re still kids!! ☹️ but the stresses of school is trying to telling us to grow up

This movie is literally one of my earliest memories. It not only elicits the strongest but also some of the furthest back nostalgia I’ve ever felt.
I remember in the intro to the actual movie curious George was painting a house he wasn’t supposed to be and I haven’t watched it since I was 5 and it 16
