Baby gloves is an understatement. These judges give sovereigns too many breaks.
So did the cops. They let him drive away with no license and no reg and maybe no insurance. Insanity! That cop was too interested in his "stats" for the day whatever that means.

Why is he allowed to drive off when he has NO license, NO registration and I'm sure, NO insurance. If he gets into an accident, the other person needs to cover everything. The car should have been impounded. That's the only way that people who have licenses suspended will stop driving.
In the UK that's an automatic arrest and automatic vehicle tow. If someone is involved in an accident with this clown and it becomes known the Police allowed him to drive away from a stop knowing he is uninsured and unlicensed can't they be sued?
Honestly that part REALLY chaps my a$$...a couple decades ago, I was an idiot who got pulled over with expired tags. Valid license, not speeding or breaking traffic rules. I was fully polite & cooperative.
LAPD towed my car and impounded it, and it wound up costing me a fortune. Again, I was the idiot and I'm not saying I was done wrong at all. But seeing these f#&*$ sovcits, bending the rules like a pretzel, making every single question a gigantic exhausting journey like "What is your name?" - it really is crap that they are treated like special cases with the system giving them massive breaks at every turn, even while knowing those breaks are going to lead to zero breakthru and change of heart by the sovcit.

Troopers know that it just doesn't matter. You can impound the car, they'll just get it back out and be on the road in a week or so. We need to change the laws, like the UK. If you don't have the proper papers, the car gets impounded and sold/destroyed after a certain amount of time if you haven't complied with getting the proper paperwork. Unfortunately, there are so many people in the US who think rules don't apply to them that we need signs and laws for every stupid little thing now.

The officer should have towed his vehicle as it is against the law to drive on the streets paid for by people's taxes. He had NO driver's license, NO registration and probably NO insurance. Meanwhile I didn't get any break whatsoever for having my entirely valid license plate displayed in my window instead of screwed into my bumper. Literally no other charge, wasn't speeding, everything was up to date, registration and so on.

Of course, those of us who live in Michigan have “ no fault” insurance, so those of us who obey the laws. PAY dearly for those driving without it. I lived in Tennessee for a while, and my insurance was more than double when I came back to Michigan. House insurance, is the same, double what it was in TN. I wish they would fine them so high for no insurance, plates, or license and confiscate vehicle until” legal” to drive on our roads that our high taxes pay for.

I love how the Judge breaks it down to "so you can drive 50 in a 25, hit a child etc and they can't do anything bc you're sovereign" I've been saying that too! It's not even that big a deal if they would FOLLOW THE LAW. They will never learn.
No, their response is that they WOULD be liable if they hit a child or anyone else. But since there was no victim in this particular case, they should not have received a ticket. "No victim, no crime."
They don't understand the bigger issue that issuing tickets even when there is no victim (the state doesn't count as a victim to them) reduces the overall probability that a child (or a construction worker) will be hit and injured because they did not follow the speed limit.
Not being from the USA I find it staggering that a police officer would let a person drive off knowing they have no drivers license let alone no license or insurance that is seen on a regular basis !

Michigan is a "No-Fault " state. If he has no insurance, he has no coverage for his own injuries, even if someone else is at fault. He cannot collect medical expenses from the at-fault driver. He also cannot collect non-economic damages except in 3 very limited circumstances.
First judge I’ve seen actually be able to get a sovereign citizen to actually cooperate 😂

That's a short sighted point of view. If anything, the SovCit has their name & face shown to the world. Their lives are potentially screwed from a societal point of view. Judge says, “I just want to be fair to everyone”. I wonder if that’s true? I’m not a Moor. I’m not Soverign. I don’t look anything like the defendant, and I’m not indigenous to the land (because I know the definition of that word!). I have not received a ticket for anything in forty years. I keep my plates/license/inspections current. I pay my taxes and I don’t take anything from the government. If I was pulled over for a 16-20 over in a construction zone, a misdemeanor, would he have considered letting me go?! I doubt it. I have a feeling that I would have written a check for the full amount of the fine, would have paid for my own attorney (because I have a job!) and probably would have been charged court costs as well. The system seems stacked against us law abiding Americans.
