    It would be crummy to say Mike is the most valuable person at OG, but damn does Mike add value!

    Storage for large, low use items like engine cranes, floor jacks, transmission jacks, etc is something to consider

      I'd want a much bigger garage if I were going to have all of that stuff.

    I definitely agree, this is how a garage should be. I've seen those pressure washers around before, usually in commercial buildings, like a Sonic or McDonalds, or one I saw was in a large vet facility, The only real difference being that these had plumbing and multiple connetions, which appeals to me, have them around the outside of the house to wash windows and the back deck and such.

    Great vid, Mike. 👍 Complete, concise…a nice tutorial for future owners of an OG garage…a neat fantasy excursion for everyone else.

    One huge lament I have as a central vac guy. I wish I had better luck selling people on HAH or even just more inlets in the garage. Usually they look at me like I'm suggesting they waste money, but I think most of them just don't vacuum their own cars out. But with that being said, I've gut this job I'm going to be doing for/with another company, and they actually want a wet dry system (this exists and its amazing) for detailing the cars. But this customer, and only one other, has ever really asked me to specifically do something to make sure they can vacuum the entire garage and the cars inside it. I guess it's one of those things most won't care about, but the ones who do will ask before I try to offer it. I just wish it was an upsell more customers asked me for, or at least see value in.

    As for floor drains, check local regulations as it’s illegal here. I like to have both air and power in the ceiling on reels as well. Good video

    Here in Texas many homes have slab on grade. There is no concrete baseboard for water not to get to the drywall. This a problem with many garages and no one really has a decent solution to this problem. Everything from rubber baseboard or Kovara AB300 to 8" PVC skirting with back rod. The foundations here are constantly moving and it's worse if you are near a lake. They sell special mats and what not. Nothing that grabs me by the boo-boo.
    Please do a video for that, extra insulation ( I've noticed with scanner how much heat is lost through the door to attic and between the panels of an already insulated door. Water seal outlets, especially 220 etc.
    Thanks

    If you put the vacuum in the attic, seems like a pain to empty the canister.

    Great video for planning the garage! It's a shame I can't purchase the Saber/Sonic cabinets because a 24" depth cabinet or drawers will jut out too much to the parking area and leave me no room to either walk around everything nor park the cars in the garage. My garage is only 20' L x 21' W. If you have any recommendation on 16-18" depth cabinets of OG spec, I'm all ears. I could easily DO 24" depth cabinets but then I can't park in the garage, which is a non-negotiable.

    How do you get the water out of the garage and keep things from getting wet you don’t want wet ?????

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  3 месяца назад

      There is a drain in the wash bay, and the air is conditioned. An average wash would use less than a hundred gallons of water. Most drains out, the rest evaporates.

    If you are stuck with garage without slope, you could achive a little with self leveling concrete

    • @MikeFigueira-OG
      @MikeFigueira-OG 9 месяцев назад +1

      Self leveling would do just that, self level. It would follow the current grade. To add slope it would require a high strength concrete overlay. It can be done though👍🏻
