Why does LearnFromMasters insist on using the words THE BEST? There is another video with that title. How about 100 Great or Excellent or Trend Setting or Noteworthy?
Check the other years...they do this EVERY YEAR with no repeats. My guess is they are given a group of paintings to pick from that changes year to year
Why is it all Western and European art? Dont get me wrong these are the best paintings no doubt. However there are priceless paintings from the Far East, Middle East & African artists that we must also share..
Interesting that the greatest of all paintings ever, las meninas by Velázquez, is missing . And goya , murillo ... that should be without any doubt in the top ten , neither . Instead a number of much more mediocre works are shown here.
These lists are ridiculous. There's no such thing as objective quality in the arts. You're listing a collective subjectivity. One could tell the same to Da Vinci, Shakespeare or Mozart, that they are not intrinsically good, they just happen to have a great number of fans.
Some of these paintings are so powerful its ridiculous what an artists pigment on a canvas is capable of
We don’t often hear about some of these artists .. hopefully this video will introduce an awareness of the beautiful works here today to look upon
