travellight I love RTJ. Killer mike is an amazing music artist and obviously very smart. His message is an important one in today’s society. But in my opinion, that’s the one thing that people don’t understand about firearms. War is not shooting a gun. There will be no defending against tyranny. The military industrial complex is an unstoppable force.
And our Supreme Court decided in the 2008 DC vs Heller that firearms were about defense of person and property, and changed the second amendment forever. It’s about pink guns for my young daughter and military style rifles now.
I have a hard time understanding why the black and Mexican community loves guns as much as hillbillies who are in the NRA, when guns are one of the sources of their largest problems.

I hope Killer Mike is just an example of what's forthcoming, that Bill Mahr will use that slot to have an intelligent progressive in it. Naomi Klein can argue her way out of a paper bag. Tim Wise would be great. Bill McKibben. AOC and Trump's most hated women of Congress, this has the potential to be a great slot where Bill's progressive guests could run with it. It would balance out a show that has mostly neoliberal selfish libertarians on a panel that are up there just because they'll smoke a little peace pipe with Bill Mahr before the show.
