Not sure if I heard the reviewer right when he said the Jimny is an all wheel drive (AWD).. if he did, then no, it is not an AWD. It's a Four Wheel Drive (4WD). There's a difference. Other than that, good review! 👍
As a Jimny owner, I can tell you this car has many flaws and is impractical if you're more than 2 people. I actually had gripes with this car but I was able to address those issues with a couple of after market accessories. Overall, the Jimny is rough around the edges but it really is a fun and good-looking car and I have absolutely no regrets on getting it. Nice review Roy!
Thanks! That's well said! It's impractical, rough around the edges and has no reason to be a logical choice for those looking for comfort, performance and practicality, but the hell if it isn't a wickedly desirable car!
I've owned a jimny and fully paid for the next upcoming jimny to be delivered early 2023. Love jimny for weekend fun times and off-roading. Can't wait for my new Jimny!
Aside from all that you said, what bothers me a lot is the add on you have to do, given that steep price, is the backlight on the gear box. There’s none so you have to have it installed. I didn’t do it yet so I put a small rechargeable, magnetic and touch sensitive blue light below the window buttons panel for now. BUT for my 1st car, this is great to drive in thru narrow streets and easy to park and i like the macho look of it.
The obvious question is why are people constantly looking for things that is not expected from the Jimny? You can't have it all guys, unless you have dough to spend, period.
If only people knew how capable this is. They need to check out videos of the Jimny going against the off road big boys, yes, including Jeeps. You'd be surprised. But off road enthusiasts, I'm sure, already know this. I'm not an enthusiast but still a fan. Its engine is actually a de-tuned K15B, exactly the same engine as the Ertiga but with less hp and torque. Nonetheless, it is a lot lighter, smaller, and has all the right mechanics and tech for off-roading. If I'd have a 2nd car that can do anything, I'd probably get this one. Dream car material. 😊
I've seen suzuki jimny GLX in an off road travel with some off road big boys and sj is performing well in descending, up hill, going a very muddy mountain trail...this vehicle is amazing however it carries only on four passengers including the driver...i think the manual trans is good for kind of vehicle.. .
I made a six month offroad trip from Germany to China with my best friend and the Jimny (older FJ model) it was a extremly reliable car. The new Jimny is verry expensiv in Europe but i will get one sooner or later.
apple Carplay usually comes standard from the factory. all you have to do is connect your iPhone to the headunit that has Apple Carplay using a compatible cable and the system automatically connects. if your headunit does NOT have Apple Carplay there are alot of aftermarket products you can purchase to replace the headunit to get the feature. :-)
The thing about the Jimny is that it basically has no segment rivals in the PH market. if you want to go pound for pound, the closest thing will probably be the Hilux J 4x4, DMAX 4x4 LT or the Ranger XL 4x4 which are low-key offroading beasts considering their power and price plus they have electronic rear locking differentials. current Subcompact Crossovers are a different animal altogether given that they are not body on frame like the Jimny but the S-Presso, surprisingly drives very similarly to the Jimny. The Rush also comes to mind given that they have the same body construction, but the Jimny can't hold a candle to it's seating capacity.
for the price of the jimny m/t you're better off w/ a base model 4x4 pickup. if a/t try to find a used vitara ALLGRIP AWD they're pretty good offroad. another alternative is subaru xv or crosstrek awd even better offroad than vitara allgrip
Why does Suzuki Phils requires PMS every 4 months for locally released units regardless of whether you use Fully Synthetic oil or not? Are they not the most expensive to maintain?
Pero wala dito sa iloilo city ang zigwheels Sila kasi ang maganda at pinakamaliit ng interest sa mga motor kasi dito sa iloilo city grabe ang interest 3 years mo 52% ang interest grabe talaga kahit anong downpayment pa yan grabe ang interest ng motor dito Kaya dapat ang company niyo po sir dapat dito din sa iloilo city kasi dami talaga kukuha ng motor sa inyo kasi liit Lang ng interest niyo sir so please dito naman ipatayo Yung company niyo sa iloilo city

You sure did! It was a hot day and we needed the AC on while shooting the static shots. It was running on idle for 2 hours, hence the 6.3 km/l :-)

Just a piece of advise. If you're a family of more than 2 then look the other way. Trust me, this thing is not family friendly.
