And I've noticed that a large percentage of the traffic cops in my city have little regard for the traffic laws they are quick to ticket a regular driver for. I understand why it is they do their job, and I'm respectful and appreciative, but they have no excuse to speed, not signal, ignore stop signs, etc. when they are just doing their normal patrolling.
Also notice how this is one of those 'construction' zones when no construction is really going on and theres no obstruction. Well at least it looks like it, we have plenty of those. And 75 mph on a 6 lane highway is fine, 50 is ridiculous.
It's not pleasant to drive with speeders on the highway, but the CHP where I live are more concerned about drunk driving and cell phone usage, they pulled me over once for a traffic violation, told me about and then told me to watch out for drunk drivers and then let me go without a ticket, I guess over in washington there are no real problems so they give you a ticket for minimal speeding /:
There's a difference between driving quickly(i.e., over the posted speed limit) and "driving aggressively". Someone driving at or below the speed limit can be dangerous too, if they are inattentive. I think it's more important to ticket drivers who impede traffic, who drive erratically(slowing and speeding up, wandering between lanes), use cellphones, laptops, etc. Also, what's up with those "construction zones" which go on for miles with no construction in sight? Yup, revenue trap!
This is why it is harder to get speed tickets when using a scrambler because your a ghost for miles away which the officer cannot read your speeds period if they’re using laser. The scrambler technology is much more stronger now, meaning you can run up on a police officer when they’re using radar and the computer has no idea anyone is there period 😂 That’s what a scrambler does it forms an invisible bubble around your vehicle like a mushroom. So even if a cop tried sitting on a parking lot while waiting on you to clock you up close he’ll never have any chance because your more then 150ft away from him and it takes 8 seconds later for him to see you. Rocky Mountain Radar undisputed military computer technology….👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 You can’t catch what you don’t see
very good point. I often wish the speed limit was significantly higher when I'm on the highway. It just seems ridiculous to have to go so slow when my car is capable of more. However, I'll tell you right now.. It's not easy to stop from 120mph, and there are many drivers and cars here in the US that i wouldn't want going faster lol
There appears to be some discrepancy between the vehicle the trooper stated he was about to pull over, and the actual vehicle. Perhaps there was some editing of this video that caused a break in its sequence.
Im not totally sure, I dont think any real examination was done, they just guesstimated 33%. And speed isnt the only factor, weather conditions and car type are also part. When you say speeding, do you include the fatalities due to driving more than acceptable for the road conditionds, such as if its raining out? If its raining hard, then 10mph UNDER the limit may still be too fast.
Those radar detectors are pretty cool...I actually bought a cruiser in an auction...and found one in the trunk....picks up where police cars are parked checking for speeding, and so on...
@mnetrucker I was basically saying unless you've got something that can jam police band radio they can still get you. As alot of them are trained to guess your speed without using the radar or laser.
yea, and that highway's foundation is also 3x what the foundation is here in the states leading to less cracks and a safer road. Also, on that highway they have advanced warning systems to alert drivers of accidents up ahead to slow them down. and lastly.. the highway your talking about, the autobahn DOES have speedlimits... they use them ALL the time.. with accidents up ahead, poor weather, etc.
@fubecabr Agreed, European speed limits are 75-80 often on urban highways and they're less open, with lower crash rates. The problem is that these guys usually don't go after tailgating.
I agree, there needs to be much more cracking down on people using cell phones on the road. They seriously drive worse than drunks. As you said about it being illegal in some areas without use of hands free devices, I think that should be a national law to be enforced by every jurisdiction. It's not just dangerous, but downright rude to the drivers who ARE paying attention and have to suffer from accidents and people going slow due to using their phones.
ok im not trying to hate on cops but didnt he say he had a dodge truck at 74 and then stopped a Toyota celica? Im not sure if thats a video mistake or just a police mistake...
When I read the title, I thought that the cops would look out for speeders on the highway, but instead of pulling them over, they'd drive right in front of the speeder, and then play the "brake check" game with the speeder to force him to stop speeding. But then again these are the cops so who am I kidding...
I can understand cracking down on construction zones,.. but if I were a cop watching the New York State Thruway (where I live) the speed limit is 65... I would give everyone a tolerance up to the low 80s... its good to keep up with the flow of traffic... Let alone the New York State Thruway is one of the safest roads that has the fewest traffic fatalities.. and those fatalities usually come from drunk driving and fatigued truckers falling asleep at the wheel.
I notice the trooper is using an unmarked car. This is interesting to see because in Calif., if an officer is working traffic (such as speeding), he/she is required to be in a MARKED patrol vehicle.
If you pay attention to the radar on the dash, it says 60 when he pulled over the Celica. Completely different clip than the Dodge pick up running 74...
in the US its also the same you can't overtake on the right and cell phones are a big no no while driving and i think its alot more than 40% of the autobahn that doesn't have a speed limit.. i'm not sure about the training but all highways across the world are purpose built for speed... speed limits doesn't work or even make sense on a highway
Very good public service announcement. Although the editing was a little weird when he's going after the blue truck and the next thing you know he's pulled over a Celica lol.
Interesting. The vehicle code in California only allows clearly marked police vehicles exhibiting a solid red light to the front are the only ones allowed to make traffic stops. That's why the LA County Sheriffs Dept took the red light and siren out of detectives cars.
I dont know how it is in Washington, but here in Kentucky we DO NOT allow ride-along's for the State Police. Im pretty sure its like that in most states. Unless its a documentary or some type of tv camera crew, its prohibited.
That isn't the sole reason, just an added bonus. Helping others in their time of need, ie breakdowns, flat tires, ect. is the main contributing factor. I'm not one of those power-hungry people looking for reasons to belittle others.
I don't know the credentials of the academy but usually for a department they require you to have a associates degree or bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. And the academy would be helpful for hiring. Hope this helps. If you have other questions, you should just e-mail or phone the department you wish to work for.
How a scrambler works is that it doesn’t jam police radar period. Even if so that is totally illegal ok. A scrambler is designed to confuse the officers computer systems abilities to read speeds legally. So when the officer is running radar to read traffic speeds it’s not jamming him but it’s only confusing the computer which allows the officers to see what they’re already used to seeing which is a mirror image reflection. That is something your used to seeing all the time 🤷🏽♂️ So the reason for a scrambler is not designed to break laws but it is only designed to allow you more then enough time to slow down safely. Even if your running 90mph and a state trooper decided to clock you at 500ft away. No worries, because he can’t see your speeds period unless you’re within 150ft from him, but when your 150ft away from him there’s an 8sec delay on on his computer which allows even more time to adjust speeds safely without them seeing any speeds…..Also the performance radar detector itself is 100% undetectable to police. 👍🏽👍🏽
Being German myself I can agree that speed limits are not equal to safe driving. Though I've rarely encountered people doing much more than 220km/h, since at that point the fuel economy exceeds 17L/100km which nullifies any gain when petrol is running at €1.50+ / liter. Given the amount of idiots on our highways in the States though, and the lax cell phone laws...speed limits might actually be safer. Can't tell you how often I get cut off by someone texting and doing 45 when I'm at 60 in a 55.
you are correct and have the right idea.. now i only wish they can remove the speed limits on the highways and the police should crackdown on the drivers who use they phones to text while driving
@sociopathicregret There's a lot of bad behavior that isn't really punished in the USA. According to the NHTSA, 80% of crashes are from driver inattention. And then there's things like lane discipline and poor road design/maintenance.
LOL his driving doesnt endanger anyone. I love how its ok for a public servant to endanger someone with their driving to keep up with someone that is driving dangerously as well. That makes so much sense! Hey this guy is already being an idiot driving so I should be an idiot as well to catch up to him to keep him from driving so dangerously.
not every car can do 200mph most cars can do about 150mph... but as i said the cars that can cross 200mph do it regularly for over long distances and yet its over a 1000x times safer than a US highway... so anytime an officer says speed limits on the highway are for your safety clearly they have never heard of the autobahn
@ausdude77 Everyone has to have a base level of knowledge before being able to operate a motor vehicle. Just because a person on the road has had a defensive driving course, that doesn't mean that the other people have. You might be able to avoid an accident, but this cannot be said for most other people. The issue isn't that you can avoid hitting people while driving well within your abilities, it's people being able to avoid you.
well almost every thing that is done on the autobahn is done on US highways and the numbers don't lie (they were taken for the autobahn only not the whole of Germany you are free to double check the number on google)....... the autobahn is much safer so i think it should have a trial period in the US to see if it works
People who support this kind of radar enforcement should read up on Traffic Engineering first. Speed limits are supposedly a probable cause for a stop because its presumed that you are driving unsafely if over the limit. This is why there needs to be an engineering study to justify where to put the limit, if any at all (more rural areas). Most people drive the same regardless of the limit, but politically set arbitrary limits increase speed variance and make roads more UNSAFE. Proven by studies.
I do agree that driving fast all the time is reckless. But they have to catch up. because if the cops go the speed limit to catch up to someone then everybody would get away.
And this is why everybody that sees any Ford crown victoria from any time era immediately slows down and thinks is a cop...I got a crown victoria as a "hand-me-down" car, not even thinking about it you immediate notice everybody drives PERFECTLY, nobody tailgates, nobody passes, nobody speeds, nobody cuts you off, everybody lets you go first at a stop sign regardless of who got there when. Most people that get a crown vic now a days gets them just to pretend to be a cop but for me i just drive and behave the way i do in any other vehicle and everybody drives and behaves the way they should !
i think speed limits only work in cites and residential areas not the highway... and there are cell phone laws in effect but people need to follow them.. i could understand talking on a phone and driving (which is illegal except if you have a hands free) but texting and driving is craziness (but in some places this is a grey area)
@pearldrumsarecool I was actually referring to the 90s style Caprice, that car was awesome, that's why I own one. About the new Caprice, I'm a little weary that it will live up to the hype, the style is a little strange, and there are rumors that they may decide to make it a front wheel drive after all, we'll see what happens. And Fords new police vehicle, in my opinion, is just plain ugly. Looks aren't everything though, if it can perform, it stands a chance.
I rode along with a THP sergeant one time and even he could not explain that squeal from the radar. That shit would make me lose my mind. He said it was for tracking purposes but damn, it was annoying.
I didn't make it up, I based my info on statistics from Britian, specifically the TRL (Transport Research Laboratory) I couldn't locate the statistics for the US. Funny thing is, the people that favor the enforcement of speeding in Britian were claiming that 33% of crashes were due to inappropriate use of speed. Then the TRL came along and disproved them.
@familyguy4562 So basically its using a pretense to making random searches? That is never the way a 'free country' is supposed to be. If you notice, this guy is blowing by people on the right to catch a guy driving 74 mph...in a non active construction zone with little obstruction. Whose driving more unsafely, huh?
There's still no general speed limit... There's an "advisory speed limit" which is just a recommended speed limit by the government.. and it's not enforced.
Incorrect. When an Officer is breaking the law of speed they are required to use lights and siren. The only exception is if they are responding to a call where lights and siren will interupt the crime that is being committed.
its called Doppler shift--- I am into counter measures and it works every time---lidar jammers-- and escort live on a 9500ci , and a valentine 1--- have not gotten a ticket in the 10 years I have been into counter measures
They do focus on DWI and narcotics. In fact, the majority of people stopped on such offenses were stopped for minor violations initially. We want DWIs and smugglers caught due to the safety hazards they pose society. But if a person speeding flies by a cop, they, in that moment, have every potential to endanger someone's life as a drunk or a smuggler. If cops focused on only those two types of people, how many other dangers are they letting elude them?
Actually, it isn't "just for money". Traffic incidents cost the state more money than it could ever recoup by issuing citations. In fact, if the government wanted to see ANY profit at all by issuing citations, it would have to issue them at a rate 670 times greater than what it does now. "wants to stop speeders yet speeds like a bat out of hell to catch them." How else is he going to do so?
To be honest with you dunhillsupramk3, the reason we have speed limits on highways is for safety, but also because America is trying to cut down on gas use. And most vehicles start losing there fuel economy if they go over 65 MPH. Which is why most highway speed limits are no faster then 65 MPH. And heck, the way your talking about the cars going 200 MPH, they don't seem to have to pull over for the police, because I don't know can police car that goes 200 MPH.
ouch. thats what they listen to! man, i've accidentally passed several trooper doing 74 mph in upstate ny. 3 times i thought i was gonna pulled over lately. 1st time was when 2 unmarked suburbans (i drive suburban aswell) had to get around while i was passing a truck doing 74 when the limit had just changed to 55. both had their lights on! AH! but they passed me and each gave me a look through their tinted and my tinted windows. and then they sped off, only to slow down 1/2 mile later.. weird...
Get this guy a Dodge Charger! The stalker radar is kinda iffy, might be difficult to tell which car is going that speed. But training and experience help. Plus if someone is speeding past you, might not be that difficult to spot the person.
@506corvette Ford is shooting themselves in the foot by killing off the Crown Victoria. The new interceptor is a no good. No body on frame, no V8, no RWD, no cheap parts. They should have just done some more upgrades to the CV....I am the proud owner of a 98 P71 and 87 2-door Crown Vic.
1:50 "We got this truck. This blue truck doing 74. Dodge blue truck." He says truck 3 times and blue twice. What does he pull over? A FUCKING CAR! This my friends is why they are called PIGS!
That’s it pays to use a radar detector…. but if you states like Virginia or Washington where radar detectors are illegal then your supposed to use a radar detector that is 100% undetectable to police. That’s what many of truckers use out there. A radar detectors only job is to detect police out there which makes noise. Some radar detectors are expensive then others because they have longer range and more bells and whistles. But no regular ordinary radar out there on the market regardless of price and range cam prevents police from seeing your speeds except Rocky Mountain Radar company’s 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
"aggressive driving complaints" jumps 2 lanes to the slow lane to speed up
YES THE CROWN VIC ROAR😫😍
Also notice how this is one of those 'construction' zones when no construction is really going on and theres no obstruction. Well at least it looks like it, we have plenty of those. And 75 mph on a 6 lane highway is fine, 50 is ridiculous.
That Crown Vic sounded sweet winding out like that.
I am a proud member of the Texas State Troopers Association and the Sheriff's Association of Texas and proudly support law enforcement.
Jesus, this crown vic accelerates hard!
Oh yeah, this is REAL aggressive driving, WOW, I cannot believe someone was going 74 SO fast... *cough*
LMFAOAO
It's not pleasant to drive with speeders on the highway, but the CHP where I live are more concerned about drunk driving and cell phone usage, they pulled me over once for a traffic violation, told me about and then told me to watch out for drunk drivers and then let me go without a ticket, I guess over in washington there are no real problems so they give you a ticket for minimal speeding /:
2:20 That is an awesome cop car. The undercover ones look so cool.
the trooper drives like a maniac to catch speeders.
Someone driving at the limit is never dangerous. It's those around them not following the law.
This is why it is harder to get speed tickets when using a scrambler because your a ghost for miles away which the officer cannot read your speeds period if they’re using laser.
The scrambler technology is much more stronger now, meaning you can run up on a police officer when they’re using radar and the computer has no idea anyone is there period 😂

Im not totally sure, I dont think any real examination was done, they just guesstimated 33%. And speed isnt the only factor, weather conditions and car type are also part.
When you say speeding, do you include the fatalities due to driving more than acceptable for the road conditionds, such as if its raining out? If its raining hard, then 10mph UNDER the limit may still be too fast.
how do you know which car you should pull over if the radar meets the speed in more than one lane???
sorry for bad english
Those radar detectors are pretty cool...I actually bought a cruiser in an auction...and found one in the trunk....picks up where police cars are parked checking for speeding, and so on...
Seemed pretty slow actually. What kind of power output do these engines have?
@mnetrucker I was basically saying unless you've got something that can jam police band radio they can still get you. As alot of them are trained to guess your speed without using the radar or laser.
yea, and that highway's foundation is also 3x what the foundation is here in the states leading to less cracks and a safer road. Also, on that highway they have advanced warning systems to alert drivers of accidents up ahead to slow them down.
and lastly.. the highway your talking about, the autobahn DOES have speedlimits... they use them ALL the time.. with accidents up ahead, poor weather, etc.
@506corvette What about the chargers?
thats a far fetched dream knowing the type of people we have in this country :(
@pearldrumsarecool
You mean the old 4.6L V8 that gets spanked by 4 banger compact cars?
@fubecabr Agreed, European speed limits are 75-80 often on urban highways and they're less open, with lower crash rates. The problem is that these guys usually don't go after tailgating.
It's actually harder to get a driver's licence over there.
I agree, there needs to be much more cracking down on people using cell phones on the road. They seriously drive worse than drunks. As you said about it being illegal in some areas without use of hands free devices, I think that should be a national law to be enforced by every jurisdiction. LOL He said a dodge truck and then a blue celica shows up, that was funny.
how do you know what car was speeding
I think it was just some weird editing done by the video maker. They jumped between two edits of unrelated cars there.
ok im not trying to hate on cops but didnt he say he had a dodge truck at 74 and then stopped a Toyota celica? Im not sure if thats a video mistake or just a police mistake...
i support this all the way..its for our safety and our families...
omg a 74 in a 70 wtf lol
that lady in the car had a cool hat i want it
When I read the title, I thought that the cops would look out for speeders on the highway, but instead of pulling them over, they'd drive right in front of the speeder, and then play the "brake check" game with the speeder to force him to stop speeding. Utah allows ride-a-longs, I've been on quite a few. I'd love to be a trooper. Work all day driving a car with lights and sirens!!
What I want to know is, how do I get into a WSP ride-along?
I notice the trooper is using an unmarked car. This is interesting to see because in Calif., if an officer is working traffic (such as speeding), he/she is required to be in a MARKED patrol vehicle.

State troopers have the coolest cars, there are some here in NC with unmarked Chargers and Tahoe's...
how is that a blue truck??
How a scrambler works is that it doesn’t jam police radar period. Even if so that is totally illegal ok.

Which amendment to the constitution allows for Federal traffic laws, and which Amendment allows local police to enforce Federal statutes?
They were cracking down on cell phone use while driving here in Vegas. But sadly, nobody seems to follow the law.

@fubecabr Incredibly accurate, me and my best friend have had discussions about that topic many many times.
I think they just showed a different clip... Like look at 2:07 it shows a red toyota 4Runner being stopped in the middle of the celica stop.
its called Doppler shift--- I am into counter measures and it works every time---lidar jammers-- and escort live on a 9500ci , and a valentine 1--- have not gotten a ticket in the 10 years I have been into counter measures
It's a wonder the police don't go insane after listening to that squeal for any length of time.
I'm surprised they only get 250hp from a 4.6L V8! But maybe it's an old tried and tested engine. I get 240hp from my 2.0l Ford ecoboost.
If cops focused on only those two types of people, how many other dangers are they letting elude them?
i love the color of his car our sheriff has one this color you dont see two manney red police cars
@VTATransitGuy I like the crown vics and the 90's caprice. i dont care for the new ford interceptor or the new caprice.
Actually, it isn't "just for money". Traffic incidents cost the state more money than it could ever recoup by issuing citations. In fact, if the government wanted to see ANY profit at all by issuing citations, it would have to issue them at a rate 670 times greater than what it does now.
"wants to stop speeders yet speeds like a bat out of hell to catch them."
How else is he going to do so?
They should have just done some more upgrades to the CV....I am the proud owner of a 98 P71 and 87 2-door Crown Vic.
radio mic almost looked like a motorola micor!
1:50 "We got this truck. This blue truck doing 74. Dodge blue truck." He says truck 3 times and blue twice. What does he pull over? A FUCKING CAR! This my friends is why they are called PIGS!
Actually it sounded like he did let off the gas due to the car in front of him and that the engine speed after the shift was low and not reving up
I thought only the civilian crown vics had the chrome grill?
This is a SAP (street appearance package) Crown Victoria Police Interceptor.
But no regular ordinary radar out there on the market regardless of price and range cam prevents police from seeing your speeds except
Rocky Mountain Radar company’s 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
