Hey from the Big Sky Country - Great Falls, Montana - Robert “David” Smith. Great video..I will be removing tree roots under black top. Most appropriate, your video!
Hey Robert, how are things going out your way, hoping we both have a meaningful and healthy 2023 my friend. Good luck with your project this summer.-Bill
Got to love that thunmb, Bill. So handy those are! If your going to have a backhoe, definately get a thumb for it. Makes spending the extra money a little easier to swollow. And yes, operating a backhoe is kid like fun! Great video, thanks for posting.
We were sure Blessed the Friday before Christmas we had - 2° temps and -25° windchill. That's cold for West Virginia. No broken water lines and we didn't loose power so that was good. You did a great job fixing your water, Bill. Insulation and the black culvert piece should never go bad again.
Happy New Year Dean! That was a challenging cold period just as you’ve said. This repair should outlive me ha ha. Take care I sure appreciate your continued support of the channel, hoping 2023 is a good year for us both.-Bill
Nice job on the hydrant! Even though we have our machines to do the hard work for us, there is always some manual labor involved somewhere. It's getting harder to do too, especially for us old guys. And I liked the analogy for the drain. Very appropriate. Got a good laugh out of that one. Take care!
Good morning Michael, thanks for taking a comment. I appreciate it. Yeah I agree with your comment, I just haven’t figured out to remove all the physical labor required on these projects and I strongly agree it’s getting to be a bigger challenge every year ha ha ….but the tractor is going to keep me able to stay on this land a lot longer with it than without it. I hope 2023 is a good year for you, stay in touch.-Bill
Hey Mark, yeah the trailer turned out pretty good for my first time spraying auto paint. Right now I kind of like the stone around the hydrant too. Take care, hope we all have a good 2023. - Bill
Hey Andrew, Happy New Year!!. I took a few months off so as to not compete with the hoilidays. Thanks for being a long time supporter of my channel, I sure appriciate it. Hope all is out your way. I hope we both have a good 2023 - Bill
You have more facet in the ground than my entire facet is long LOL. were pretty blessed here in western KY. this year was coldest it got in years. it got few degrees below 0 hardware stores sold out of SharkBite's. first time my water froze on 40 years.
Happy New Year KR, sounds like that cold spell created a lot of issues for all of you. I hope the rest of your winter goes better. Thanks for taking time to come, and I sure appreciate it. Consider staying in touch and subscribing.-Bill
Hi Bill,Mark from Indiana... forget that shovel! It's the backhoe when ever I can over the shovel, plus it's kinda fun!! Happy New Year and looking forward to more good videos.
Happy New Year Mark, I don’t know what I was thinking even attempting to use a shovel. Thanks for taking time to say hello and staying in touch. I sure appreciate it. Hope in 2023 is good for all of us. Stay safe. -Bill
@@aaronburford5701 Good morning Aaron, I’ve been down with the flu the past week and finally getting better. I haven’t heard about the delivery date of the new computer yet. I’ll keep you posted.-Bill
@@billburkhart Gm, praying you are well, I know the feeling going thru that now myself and have to preach on Sunday. Thanks for the updates it means a lot. Fesl better sir!
Good point about the outriggers. The rear axle has the parking brake too. So it will hold the tractor steady better front to rear. Same with the front end, I dig the bucket into the ground if soft but don’t left the front off the ground as I’m usually in 4WD so it’s working with parking brake. I did rubber pads I found on eBay that bolted up to my 260B.
Bill, I don't think you have to worry about it freezing now. I use the parking brake and have the tractor in 4WD when I'm using the backhoe on the Kubota L3901DT. I also keep the rear tires on the ground. Great video. Will have to try the little shake with the bucket. Thanks for sharing.
Great job on this project, it was well thought out and executed. Now that I have my 2038R package, I have to agree with you on the enjoyment of using the backhoe. My tractor is more famous that I am after Brock from Rockhill Farm stopped by and made a video for his channel titled 7 upgrades I wish my tractor had. Have a look at it and see how the hydraulic thumb works on my backhoe. If you’re looking for some more entertainment, Brock also did a video on my wife’s freeze dried business and I let him borrow my Logosol M8 chainsaw sawmill. He has posted a few videos on it as well. Anyway, it’s nice to see a new video from you again, I was starting to worry that something may have happened to you. Take care and Happy New Year from your friend Waldo in Choctaw, OK.
Happy New Year Waldo. I’m glad you find the backhoe as therapeutic as I do ha ha.. Sounds like you had a pretty exciting time working with Brock. Thank you for your kind comments. I had to take a few months off to re-energize. Hoping 2023 is a meaningful year for both of us-Bill
Hi Bill. On one of your videos you showed how to fix the paddles on the loader to make them move in synch. I believe it was with new bolts but can’t remember. Can you please tell me which video number that was?
Happy New year Cliff. I sold the 1025 shortly after purchasing the 2038, I found myself getting on the 2038 more and the 1025 wasn’t being used enough. Have a great 2023 -Bill
Hello David, I sure did, I had to shop around to find a Woodford, but that what I wanted. I have another Woodford hydrant and its 30+ years old and is working like it's new. Happy New year - Bill
Too funny CDee, yeah I dress for comfort!!!! You'r proably right about the savings Good to hear from you again. Hope you're having a good winter. - Bill
@@billburkhart the job for mini excavators has to be specific enough to rent. I don't have a backhoe for my tractor. So, rental of a mini excavator is my answer. As for you having a backhoe, a mini excavator would be one more machine to service & fuel. Each machine has its pros & cons. Not to mention operator preferences. Can't wait for future vids.
