Very helpful video. I appreciate the openness and solid information. Still on the fence if I would get the backhoe with my future purchase or not. Plan to plant lots of trees, the smaller trees will work with a post hole digger, but would be nice to have a backhoe for larger trees, digging retaining walls, trenches to future outbuilding etc. Doing the. cost/benefit/time analysis and your video was very helpful. Thanks for the great content!
Thank you, glad to hear you are finding the information helpful in your processing of the pros/cons... one of my big challenges is all the hills... this adds more difficulty as well... But i'm glad i have it as it's very inconvenient for me to rent one.
I suggest that you go and dig with a shovel for about an hour, then decide if you want a backhoe. I have a backhoe for my compact tractor and I use it often. I have a second property that I need a backhoe on and I don’t want to haul the one that I have, so I bought a 57HP, 4WD trencher with a 6 way blade and a backhoe. It is a 9000 pound machine so it will be a better backhoe platform. It also costed a reasonable $8800. It is just as much fun, but it really makes the wife roll her eyes. Look up Ditch Witch 5700. I will be doing videos on the concept when the snow goes away.
Hahaha. Yes an hour with a shovel should do the trick. Will check out the ditch witch and will check out your channel. Thanks for watching and commenting! - Josh
Just a comment on zero interest loans. Whenever a manufacturer/dealer offers zero % they are paying the interest. We both know they won't really do that so they get the purchaser to pay top dollar, typically list price or close. In reality you are paying all interest by paying more up front than the dealer would have sold the tractor for had you financed it. The choice is yours but zero interest is typically a gimmick. Enjoyed the video as I'm in the market.
Hey, agree mostly however I learned early on that there will people that pay list and others that don't... Because some do, there is room to negotiate with me. I always plan to "pay with cash" until its time to close the deal... In this case I was moving my business to another dealership when the 0% came out as an option. Based on what I've seen I think I still did pretty well. I've also not seen them negotiate too much on individual implements so bundling is key. Since you are the market check out this video Jason made with tips for buying... I realize demand is up and supply down so they may not all work during the Pandemic supply shortage ruclips.net/video/IMtEF8tiMek/видео.html . Thanks for watching and thanks for watching! We appreciate it!
I can't imagine not getting a backhoe. I already have projects in mind for it but even if not, I'm sure I'd find reasons to use it where I would never go rent one.
Spot on! For me once its on the tractor there are lots of projects... Convenience is key... Rental is about 40 minutes away and would rarely happen... My bigger issue is lack of experience in excavation... I have a few projects that i've yet to actually improve the situation i'm trying to fix. haha
3” spacers and zero regrets on this model. I looked at the 3R but due to price and size/weight stuck with the 2032R because I do mow with it. Only thing I wish it did more of is lift heavier but that is it.
Mine is a 2017 so maybe price went up? We have also found that the price is always better when you buy them at the same time as the initial tractor purchase. Buy more and negotiate one big package deal. Jason has some great negotiating tips in the Buyers Guide playlist and the 1025R playlist.
@@HardyBrothersOutdoors I am buying in a big package. 2032R with loader and backhoe, 60" plow blade and an X590 54" for mowing. I guess supply and demand is a factor too.

You could improve maneuverability by having the kid dig while you are up front driving 😎
haha, i like how you think! :-)

What size wheel spacers are you running and do you ever wish you would have went with a 3R instead?

I got one of these added to a new 2032R for $10,200. How did you manage such a good price at $8000?
