    I like the parallels between the Dead Space lore and Halo lore but this feels like more of a fan analysis than a real theory. Personally, I see the Markers as something like John Carpenter’s “The Thing.” It is a form of life so far evolved beyond our comprehension of xenobiology that is has attained complete and total control over its own physical form, all the way down to the genetic level. In the case of the Markers, though, they are a form of life that has evolved even beyond the basic genetic control of the Thing’s “Supercell.” The “Craftsmen”, as I’ll now refer to the makers of the Markers, weren’t just able to manipulate the building blocks of life itself, NOT ONLY were they able to unlock the secrets of cellular reanimation on a planet wide scale, but they were ALSO able to somehow transfer their conscious minds into and live eternally within vessels made entirely from inorganic material; the Markers. Over the span of their infinite existence, these Craftsmen may have gained such a sublime, transcendent view of “life” that to them, life and death are simply two different roads they can walk back and forth down on a whim. Maybe the spreading of the Markers across the cosmos REALLY IS meant to be a gift from the Craftsmen to show other forms of intelligent life that death can be transcended. But since they are so far beyond our ordinary stage of life bound by death, they don’t understand that more primitive forms of life simply aren’t ready to partake in Convergence. That to sacrifice biological individuality at the young stage of our species’s lifespan we’re currently in causes existential trauma and devastation that VASTLY overshadows any good that could possibly come from the Craftsmen’s Convergence . I dunno. I personally just like a more Lovecraftian answer to the beautifully Lovecraftian mysteries behind the origins of the Markers.

      @GodWarsX Год назад +4

      @@christopheribarra1170 The way I see it is the markers are the alien consciousness housed in an inorganic object, like a router, that beams itself out into universe, manipulating and ultimately able to bend any organic matter to its will, no matter how advanced the consciousness of what* it takes control of. Perpetuating its exitence and ultimately driving all life in the universe to converge on "it".

    I like your theory, but I believe there's no good way these IPs could reconcile with each other.
    The precursors are the living universe experiencing itself and creating life in the process; they allowed themselves to be killed because they knew they'd just come back as a different form (there's a theory that the Flood aren't a corruption of the precursors, but they purposely took the form).
    On the other hand, the markers/necromorphs/brethren moons were to be the lesser evil, compared to something else lurking the the blackness (writers for DS4 story said).
    I find difficult to believe the precursors would play second fiddle to anything, which makes me not believe the markers/necromorphs/brethren moons are precursors.
    4:20 I see you've gotten the good boy from Warframe to make a cameo.

    Markers creators are much older then other creatures from the Dead Space universe. Maybe Markers and the Dead Moons are some form of a"Grey Goo" technology. Maybe the Creators wanted to achive immortality but something go very wrong and the whole nightmare with Markers, necromoprhs and Bretheren Moons begin.
    Maybe Markers technology killed their otiginal creators and it's just a failed experiment, a mistake on a mass exctinction level.

      Clearly, everyone who tried to use/create the markers, were completely hijacked by them. A "Frankenstein" scenario, wouldn't be that far out of the realm of possible, it's a fairly well used trope.
      I mean, as possible as any realm of this could ever be. A deviation in DNA/RNA is also another possibility.
      Two things seem certain and that is Dead Space isn't going to disappear any time soon and it's one hell of a franchise. Very stoked that they got Gunner back for the up-do, too. I really would have liked to see Ellie again, but maybe we'll get a second game following this one. It'd be kind of fun to have Extraction redone as well, I really actually liked that game and beat it into submission a few times. 😉 I'd settle for a remaster, though.

      I could make a video in the future if you'd like to see how I create my videos. In the meantime however I'll give you a brief explanation. I'll tend to brainstorm topics for videos so I have a selection to pull from, when it's time to script the video it can take from a day or longer depending on how I feel about the topic, this one took me about 12 hours to fully create as I had been thinking about this theory for the past few years but I generally try to keep myself focused on the present task as a big factor for me is the praise and occasional criticism I get helps to encourage me to create videos faster and more efficiently while keeping quality in mind. As for pointers I can't really give you much as I feel it's different for everyone but I feel like the reason that I am able to write quickly is just from practice the timeline videos have helped from that. Try to write a clear message or story that you want to convey to your audience and don't over think it or try to make it perfect I've spent too much time over thinking my commentary in trying to get it 100% perfect. The way I think of writing is like painting a picture, there's the canvas right infront of you. Let your words flow out of you.

    I just wonder what would happen if the 2 infections tried to infect the other, I imagine flood couldn't be turned into necromorphs beyond being biomass for the big ones since killing them wouldn't leave enough there to reanimate and necromorphs probably would have a hard time getting their nervous system penetrated but that could be a thing though the Super Cell trying to convert the Necromorph flesh would be quite the battle that I imagine would be pus filled growths and corruption like flesh growing on top of each other for dominance

    Honestly I never saw the precursors as a big reveal or issue until maybe Martyr when they mentioned that maybe the marker was malfunctioning or broken.
    My theories for the marker was it was a attempt at creating a afterlife or post scarcity system- maybe both?
    Given the images of the dead in aftermath I was pretty sure it was a afterlife machine that malfunctioned- given the whole alien idea and possible communication could be them trying to get other people to fix the thing they’re trapped in.
    Honestly that would justify the experiments a lot more and fit the whole religion idea slightly more as well as the contradictions being somewhat corrected by a mix of alien, human, machine error with some faction issues in the marker’s afterlife; just summarized as “heaven for others is hell to some” and given that with the alien DNA theory I would imagine they would try a attempt to jump to a new body and pass the whole accidentally creating necromorphs with lost in translation but got the general idea “nearly un killable living bodies”
    That’s the lines I drew before dead space 3

    my theory is that the first Necromoon would be a quantum-scale anomaly like an SCP object :
    an ordinary living organism on a random planet that suddenly mutated into something with the properties of a Marker
    at the quantum level there was a mechanism prefigured from the origin of the Universe and that signature replicated again and again still in latent form in the ecosystem of this planet until it finally activates and awake the signal in the organism of this creature
    This creature would have developed the capacities of telekinesis, the emission of psychosomatic waves and reanimating the dead tissue of its ecosystem
    he could have designed Markers by using his telekinesis power to assemble some materials of the environment while altering the property of the minerals on a quantum scale and use that to accelerate convergence on his world
    for its appearance I imagine Vecna from Stranger Things I dont know why

  • @slate8409
    @slate8409 7 дней назад

    Doubtful, if only for two reasons.
    First, the Markers are too easy to create and destroy. They're plenty durable by our understanding and have to be destroyed at the atomic level to get rid of them for good - tossing them into a star, basically, artificial or otherwise - but they can be destroyed through fairly mundane means. Precursor artifacts, on the other hand? Borderline indestructible. Forerunners had no idea how half their stuff worked even with their civilization's relative mastery over all things physical, and their most powerful weapons couldn't even scratch the most "mundane" of Precursor creations.
    The second is a matter of scale.
    It's heavily implied the Flood were an accident, or at the very least if it was deliberate it was the result of a single Precursor flipping the Forerunners the bird. That said, the Precursors were gods in all but name. The Flood as we see it in the games is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to how they even begin scaling, and there's a poignant quote from a conversation between the Iso and Ur-Didacts that paints a pretty grim picture here.
    ---------
    "The light is over a hundred thousand years old," The Iso-Didact says. "What could change?"
    "Something deeper than frequency. Look again. The way it invades our eyes. Piercing. Slicing. Concealing. The light shuns us, space itself wishes to expel us. Can't you see? We are no longer welcome here. [...] The Flood changes everything. Not just flesh. Space itself is infected. That's the power the Precursors once had... isn't it?"
    --------
    Necros and the Flood do have a ton of similarities and spread about as fast on the local level, although I'd argue the Flood are a tad faster if we start looking at the actual lore, their ability to spread via airborne spores rather than just infection forms. But Necros, as good as they are, top out at the planetary level with Brethren Moons. That's where their evolution stops, and Markers get sent out to repeat the cycle for the purpose of "procreating/reproduction" for more Brethren Moons. For the Flood? That's a mere stepping stone. It doesn't stop there, doesn't loop back to start the cycle anew. An entire planet infected and converted to the Flood's purposes is just a single node in a much larger consciousness that can spread out across the entire galaxy, and while the Necros are definitely a threat they behave much more like a standard zombie viral outbreak with a bit of weirdness via the Marker signal. They are, however, ultimately mundane in that they just seek out and convert biomass. The Flood? It's actively malignant. It doesn't stop at just spreading itself and consuming any organic life it can get its tentacles on. If allowed to continually evolve and begin reaching the same level of seeming omnipotence that it had as a former Precursor it starts warping space, actively targeting technology and artificial intelligence as well if seemingly only for the purpose of spiting all creation that isn't itself by its own admission.
    Neat as the idea is and cool as the similarities are? If the Necromorphs had ANYTHING to do with the Precursors, any connection to them at all, they'd be so much worse than they already are. Either by design, or just due to the sheer scale and potency of their abilities.

    • @Epsilon-5
      @Epsilon-5 2 года назад +1

      @e- w- First of all halo is my favourite franchise also I’m saying this as somebody who has went over almost all the lore in both franchises repeatedly, I know 99% of dead space lore apart from the survivors webpage and almost 100% of the forerunner flood war. I’m now going to point out to you as to why both franchises are unrelated in a way that even a brainless moron like you can understand. So the entire idea of the precursors being transdementional is stupid as this would have meant that they could’ve just run from the forerunners meaning that the flood wouldn’t of existed on the first place plus even if they where all precursors technology was either taken or destroyed by the forerunners meaning that this alone would debunk this theory but let’s talk about if they where it the same universe since that give me more to talk about. Firstly the flood cannot exist in the same galaxy as DeadSpace since both earths have entirely different historical events happening at various points that would make it impossible, the forerunners definitely don’t exist in DeadSpace as humanity has searched most of the milky way and has found no traces of other life only dead planets. To have your theory actually make some sense the flood would of had to find an entirely different galaxy with an almost identical history up to the point where both halo and DeadSpace branch off to form the lore this on its own is almost inconceivable but let’s assume so for the sake of argument, the flood would then have to devolve to become less intelligent losing their ability to hijack technology in the process which by the way is impossible if the floods backstory is lead to believe, they would somehow have to invent markers before their ability to hijack technology is lost also them making the markers which are a limitless source of energy is impossible on its own as the flood wouldn’t be able to do since they’ve never been able to create their own technology, they would then have to have stopped and placed a marker on earth to bring humanity up to its current stage again. This entire paragraph alone should be enough to show you why this theory makes no sense but let’s continue shall we?
      So let’s take a look at the biology of the flood before we take look into the necromorphs, the flood spread by taking control of a host body through the use of either spores or a pure form which connects to the spinal column this in turn allows the pure form to pilot the host body, after it connects it begins to mutate cells to form appendages capable of aiding it in its task to attain more biomass this process also take knowledge from the victim adding it to a hive mind making it smarter for every person it would have to consume, this is the basics on how the flood infect people now we move on to the necromorphs.
      The necromorphs start their infection via a marker which emits a highly tuned frequency that is uses to drive people to insanity making them end themselves this allows the marker to reanimate the now dead cells creating a necromorph this process requires the host to be dead or it doesn’t work as normal instead creating a regenerator, this means that the flood who can infect those living would have to start infection of only deceased individuals this alone is important as it means that the flood would also have to invent a way to manipulate life and death remotely instead of hijacking bodies.
      Now let’s talk about the way necormorphs attack, necromorphs a variety of ways to kill their target however they themselves are almost impossible to kill as the marker prevents them from being destroyed by conventional weaponry unlike the flood, the only way to kill a necromorph is by destroying a marker or by killing every cell whereas the flood can be killed with a well placed shot or by burning I can only hope at this point that you are starting to understand why this theory is impossible.
      Now let’s move on to the final reason on to why this is impossible, the games books and lore are all made by separate companies who aren’t related to each other in any way shape or form. I hope you can grasp this reason as it appears that you brain doesn’t understand how two companies can be unrelated.

      First, it's a fanon theory.
      Second, the Moons didn't create the markers originally. They merely continue to make them. A different intelligent race did. You're not a very fun person.

      The main question is which came first.
      The Brethren Moons or the Marker. What initially created the other that ends up making this cycle
