    The way the necromorphs get onto the Ishimura is borderline comedy; there are three crewships of survivors from the colony, they refuse to return to the planet's surface so the Ishimura opens fire on them.
    1.)They completely destroy the first crewship which is full of innocent people
    2.) They clip a second crewship causing it to crash into the Ishimura killing many of the innocent people on board
    3.) But the third? It gets through to the Ishimura's hanger no problem, and who's on the third ship? A corpse, a necromorph, and an infector.
    These clowns destroyed EVERY ship except for the one that was the actual threat.

    • @thunderscreech42

    The true "Maritime Horrors" from the Ishimura weren't the events that led to its destruction: it was the fact that the ship's captain didn't steer the ship directly into the nearest star to purge the horrors onboard, as well as the fact that the horrors were able to escape and spread across the galaxy.

      I know it's almost two weeks later but you're both correct. The Chief Science Officer AND the Captain where both Unitologists. They differed in opinion regarding the marker and its effects though. Captain Mathius is the person who had the marker brought on board the Ishimura (against Dr. Kyne's wishes, I might add) so it's fair to lay much of the blame at his feet for the events which took place afterwards. Dr. Kyne meanwhile actually tried to sabotage the Ishimura in an attempt to destroy it, the shut-off engines and fuel systems that Isaac had to fix in the game were his doing.

So the bodies were to be sent to the church after death. Considering how popular unitology had become, it made sense to me that ships of this era would have larger facilities in case of a large accident and the need to move a lot of bodies back.

      @Rockwood1407 Год назад +8

      @@friendlyreaper9012 there's also so many smaller stories you can tell well within the world of Deadspace... Like this one.
      There are larger, longer stories that would be great as a series, and great smaller ones that would fit perfectly as a 2 hour movie.
      Meanwhile with 40k you almost neeeeed something like a series or movie trilogy. Even the small stories require a ton of context and world building to not be completely ridiculous and beyond over the top. Imagine trying to explain Orks vs anything within 2 hours. There are Space Marines that use 80's style electric guitars to sound blast their enemies. And then there are demon versions of em 🤣.
      You couldn't cover any single battle or major event well because they all involve 10 factions of complex and confusing origins. Someone could water it down and simplify quite a bit for a more palatable tone, but imo that defeats most of what makes 40k unique. It's a lore that is very self reliant, and really builds on itself. Cutting that out would just make it basic fanfic scifi.
      That being said... A 40k Netflix series could dive into enough different stories and settings to build up something believable.

      Sure that would apply in the real world. But the Ishimura was made in a fictional world. Where 'cost', weather it be for, materials, construction, whatever; Was not really an issue. The reason is because it was made by a 'Type 3 civilization'. We are still a 'Type 0(zero) civilization', so cost, space, and so on, could be considered.
      But as it is, our type of economics, can not be applied to that of a 'Type 3 civ'; Because the amount of differences are so vast. I'm sorry; But your explanation, your argument, fails to hold any water.

      Actually in the lore of the series, cost was an issue. The Ishimura was the first planet cracker in it's class to be built. At the time of Dead Space, it was close to being retired as Aegis VII would be it's last job.
      It's design reflects it's age, and it's construction during the back end of the resource wars. Compare it with Titan Station during Dead Space 2, or the newer ships in Dead Space 3, and you'll see the difference.
