Paul and Morgan You should do a video about age gap relationships 🙏🏼 I’m a little bit confused, here’s the thing we’re both Christians, love God, wanna serve together but I’m way too older than she’s, like 10 years older!!! 🙆🏻‍♂️ Please! Some advice

Love this video. I think that you hit up all of the questions that my husband and I asked each other early on...But for us, we actually talked about most of this stuff before we even started 'officially ' dating. We started off on a friendship level with the intent of being in a relationship and that's when these questions came up. We wanted to see if our end goals were the same before we got into our relationship. What are your thoughts about a friendship stage before a dating one?

    1. Where is your walk with the Lord?
    2. How serious are you about finding a husband or wife?
    3. Physical Boundaries?
    4. Relationships with their family?
    5. What's your career path plan?
    6. Would you prefer that the wife works or is a stay at home mom?
    7. What do you think about kids?
    8. Be gentle about this one: Are they saving themselves/ abstinence?
Don't forget to have fun on these dates! 😁

This may sound a bit weird in regards to my circumstances but here goes...
I am a twice divorced 40ish woman. I was not a Christian until 6 years ago. I had no idea how to date in a Christian relationship and not use the ways of the world to guide and lie to me. My church family has been giving me knowledge about it, but your videos are very focused and practical too. As I grow ever closer to the Lord, I am learning what Christian relationships should be. You are great "teachers", living in the Lord together! Thank you for the lessons you share with ALL of us!

The first question is soo important, but what Paul said about “knowing them by their fruit” is doubly as important. They can say all they want about how invested they are in their walk with the Lord, but if there isn’t a heart change and actions that spring from that...might be a red flag.

Love it! One thing I would add,
If someone has a negative relationship with their family to not hold that against them, you never know the full story there. I agree on the person not gossiping to you about their family especially not in the first date or two. But to not count that as a deal breaker. You never know what a person has endured from their “family”

One thing my mom has reinforced in my sister and I for years is to ask the guy when the last time he looked at porn was. His reply will give you a good idea of whether or not he has an addiction. This is a big one I think. There is not much worse than marrying someone and then after the vows finding out your husband has a porn problem. It rips marriages apart, I've seen it first hand.

I am grateful for Paul and Morgan's video . I am applying everything I have learnt from Paul and Morgan currently in my relationship. We have been dating for 3months and we have not kissed, I learnt this from Paul n Morgan. I ask him about sexual boundaries early on in the relationship and this helped us to be on the same page. In the past I would kiss on the first date, but I am a lot happier with the sexual boundaries I have in this relationship.
Please pray for me that God gives me wisdom and guidance in this relationship

Hey guys! I loved the video; asking questions is really good to get to know each other, but I want to share one thing I did and it helped me A LOT with this process that is to ask the Holy Spirit some of these questions and also pray for Him to show you who in fact the person you like is, because it can happen that the person maybe lie to you or keep things from you, so... the Holy Spirit won't! He is the truth so He'll show you everything. I'll give you an example on how I did my prayer: "Holy Spirit, I pray for You to show me who this person is; show me the good parts of him and the bad ones as well, and also show him who I am, so we don't need to have any kind of doubts in between." You need to truly know someone so you can be able to decide if you wanna choose this person to be with you in a relationship. Remember, the Lord will help you, but the choice is yours. ☺😄😘❤

Haha, before we started dating, we totally asked question after question and it was definitely like an interview!! But it honestly worked out for us because we didn't want to get involved with each other if we weren't on similar life paths. We definitely had specific goals and expectations in place, so asking everything (even marriage and children) was critical! People thought we were so weird for discussing all this stuff prior to entering into a relationship, yet our thinking was, "why date someone if you aren't compatible and don't intend to marry them?". We wanted to gather all the information we could!!! By the way, your hair is so beautiful, Morgan!

I would ask what they think about gender roles :) Also a really cool question I'd love to ask is what they think their weaknesses are. I'd want to ask that cause I bet you could tell a lot about a person by how they answer that question! It would be interesting to see how open they are about their weaknesses, and whether they have a healthy humility. And adding to what you said about the virginity question, I would say it's good to ask that question providing you make clear that you won't judge them for their answer, and explain that you just feel it's something important you should know about one another from a communication point of view.

Good video! Y'all are lookin' even better than usual for some reason. :) My mindset is to just use the first date as a time to get to know the person in general, see how they act, and what they like. But by the 2nd or third date, maybe start rolling out the big questions, maybe 2-3 per date depending on how long the conversations go. Looking forward to watching the rest of the series. One thing to keep in mind is that your advice is mostly geared toward people who are in the position where they are ready for marriage. For people who are a bit younger, I would give advice a little differently. (ex. Perhaps being careful with conversations about sexuality/past stuff. It could be fine, but if there are years and years ahead before marriage, knowing a person on that level that early could make things difficult.) Looking forward to when you hit 250 Patrons. :D

And about viewing the parents in a negative light, what about people who have been hurt by their parents. What about a child brought up in a narcissistic family and has negative view of the parent? What if a child does not have a good relationship with a parent because all the parent does is hurt the child? Just a thought 💭

    • @annavorobyev6357

I think letting them know you had a tough time with your parents for whatever reason is okay. Gossip though is not. Gossip is talking someone down, but expressing your hurt is something different. You could have had a bad relationship/still might even, but if you still have a godly love towards those people, it will show in the way you speak.

So for me and my boyfriend this was something we had to work through.
To give you an understanding his father was a hard man to love. He made a lot of mistakes and did hurt the man I care about and give him issues we work together on and make work.
And that’s okay. Am I happy what happened? No. But he’s still my boyfriend’s father. I have to forgive and accept the past, and while I want to be upset it’s honestly important to understand that God used that to shape him into the man I hold dear to my heart.
And for my boyfriend I know when I told him about my abusive history with my father it was a tough topic. We had to sit down and honestly it’s really just about looking at the bright sides of it or accepting it happened.
I’m not saying you have to love them, but always take into consideration how God would want you to feel and how your lover feels.

Do you strive to follow God with all your heart and try to make God 1st with everything in your life?
I know some people that say they’re Christians, but don’t seem to add God in anything in their life, so I would want to clarify to have God in Are relationship, not just on the side when we’re bored:)

Hey guys, could you mention in one of the next videos your advice to the situation when you see your partner is getting away from God or just doing some stuff you know is not very good for him/her, but you don't know how to say it out loud and help him/her come back? Did you have any experience, when Paul was the one, who needed Morgan's words and help, so he could realise something in his life?

"You don't flirt to convert and you don't date to save." I like that a lot. It reminds me of a time where I was talking to one of my closest friends about I guy I was "dating" that was Christian, but we didn't have much in common and seemed to bump heads a lot. I told her "I only wanted to get to know him because he was Christian" and she was like "Well, you don't know if someone could come to Jesus because of you..." And I stopped there because I didn't want to debate (she was raised Christian, but doesn't really walk with the Lord). Yes, someone could come to Jesus because of you, but not in a romantic relationship necessarily. I've seen it happen multiple times and Glory to God for that, but that can't be your goal because it will cause frustration and hurt. Only God can convert and transform someone, not us. We could be used by Him to guide people, but not make them do something.

How old were you when you started dating/ married. Also, what do you think about Catholic-Protestant marriage??

    • @gracyk9934
      @gracyk9934 5 лет назад +5

Abby Oller i mentioned the idea that u stars in ur second question in another comment reply. I was raised from the time I was 8 with a Catholic step family and a Protestant biological family. I lived with my mom (protestant) and step dad (raised Catholic but converted to protestant (Presbyterian) but his parents and moms side are still catholic so I’ve been exposed to it a lot). I also live in a very heavily catholic area. I attended an Evangelical Presbyterian Church for 10 years (ages 8-18) but I have attended catholic weddings and funerals and rosaries, have very close catholic friends, and have studied it. There are many fundamental differences between the 2 denominations. I feel like there could be an issue in marriage of where to attend church, especially once kids come into the picture. It’s extremely confusing for a kid to have parents who believe 2 different things. I feel like it would just be a very sticky situation. Also, independent fundamental Baptists (protestant) hate Catholics. I attended an IFB school for 5 years while attending a Presbyterian Church living in a heavily catholic town/region (confusing? Yes!) and they very openly spoke against Catholicism.

Wow, they hate Catholics? That doesn’t seem like something from the holy spirit

    • @abbyoller2884

Gracy I have been dating a Catholic for 19 months now and we are seriously considering marriage. He actually converted from his parent’s religion of southern baptist to Catholic while still a teenager. It shows that he doesn’t just live for the Lord because someone says he has to, but because he knows Him from his own experience.
That being said, I am still attending the American Baptist Church I grew up in, but consider myself a nondenominational. I also practice head covering and don’t believe in birth control, so my only worry is having to raise my kids as Catholics. I would prefer for them to be baptized when they’re old enough to accept the concept...and want them to also take communion at my church.
Satan has been trying to separate us, and I can feel him constantly trying to uproot the relationship. He even almost died last summer, but we have only grown closer through the struggles we’ve faced.

Abby Oller I personally would not date a Catholic. They have different beliefs from the the Christian faith. I believe their would be a lot of tension and if you could really be your complete self with them. Could he truly lead you as a man of God.

    • @PaulandMorgan

    • @gracyk9934
      @gracyk9934 5 лет назад +12

Hockey Scouting Reports with Matt Levine i think denomination can be important cause like, for an example, Catholic vs Mennonite/anabaptist or anabaptist vs Baptist (BIG differences here despite name similarities). And there’s a million other possible combinations of denominations that all fall under “Christianity” but are VERY different. The ones I listed are just ones I have personal experience with that are drastically different. Now does the label of a denomination matter? I guess not so much, but you want to make sure your beliefs align because I can think of multiple major and minor differences between just the denominations I listed that could lead to a lot of conflict. Also, if u get married where will you go to church and in what denomination/church will you raise your kids? I’ve seen and experienced this be a big issue in married couples, especially with kids. Having 2 parents with different beliefs (even with Christianity) can be extremely confusing for the kids. On the surface denomination doesn’t seem to matter, but if u dig into it deeper it really can. Now if your talking like Methodist vs Baptist vs Presbyterian, those are all Protestant and extremely similar and not as big of a deal (in my opinion). But if your talkin Catholic vs. Protestant vs. anabaptist, there are some major fundamental differences there.

Hey thanks for another great video. One things that would be great to talk about is that virginity and purity are not the same thing. Someone may not be a virgin because of upbringing or a bad start in life be they love God and are pure in heart and mind. Also there is a great resource called Moral Revolution its a book and teaching that you might love.
