I couldn't agree more with you. I was sexually abused and humiliated as a child and grew up incapable of dating or having a gf. Although I felt the physical desire for sex I was also scared to even try to do it. I never dated successfully so that it became a dating relationship. So I retreated inward and engaged in fantasy and self pleasuring. Now I am in recovery and the cure includes no dating and no sexual activity. I am single and celibate and abstinent. I'm finally at peace knowing this is the life I want for me now!
I am 41 years old never thought about marriage or settling down because I was always having to much fun lusting for women at the night clubs for half my life. I started attending my local church to brake free from sin and after one year of attending bible college and serving as usher, for the first time I want to get married to a woman of God and I no longer desire to go to the night clubs to seek woman. So far, there is one young woman who has been so nice to me at church since day one, and I am believing and asking God for her to be the one thank God and these pastors for helping me brake free.

But it really stuck with me and this video just reminded me how vital it is to actually appreciate my identity and being single to heal from all of the things I’ve been through. I went on and dated someone that is not in the Lord, got into fornication and later got a daughter...my daughter is only 5 months old, i decided to leave her father (who was at the time my fiancee)not because his a bad person but because we were unequally yoked and he is not in the Lord i lacked the peace of God and never knew it...i was so sure God would change him along the way..i forced him to come to the lord and love him but i learnt the hard way that am not the convictor of the hearts of men!!😂😂! Next time god willing,i will be on guard and instead of looking for certain qualities,God should help me work on my character and qualities! This was really revealing to me thank you so much.. my Ex dumped me and crazy enough she is the reason why I honestly came to the feet of God and have giving myself even more to him about 2 years ago we went to the same church and I started to get more into touch to the Lord and guess what a lot of negativity started to happen to myself and then we grew apart. She was and is very knowledgeable about the Bible but I found out she is dating someone who is part of the Yoruba religion or the man she is dating now practices Santeria just like her ex who she had a son with prior to me. Why does God allow widows to marry other men and vice versa if just ONE person was supposed to be their partner, is God inconsistent in his world? 3. Even if there was this system of one predestined individual for another, the system broke with Adam's sin and will not be restored until the forms a new Jerusalem. The reason our bodies have physical death is that God's system is long broken and is awaiting reconstruction!

When I was saved more than twenty years ago, I went through years of deliverance to heal trauma. God healed me to such an extent that the Holy Spirit has brought so much emotional and psychological freedom that I feel like I'm living in Heaven already. I went from fearing being alone for the rest of my life to the complete opposite - I can't imagine being anything other than single. It's a bit difficult to explain - it's like a neverending river of peace and joy flowing from my spiritual belly and I can't get enough of it.

I was with my ex wife for 17yrs. And married for of those. We were in church on and off but not committed. I have been back whole seeking God's will for my life for 6months now. I have meet someone that I feel like may be the 1, but Only if God truly puts her in my life. We meet in a divorce care group, but my focus is more on God and who he is, if he ever wants me to be remarriage. God has got to be #1 in your life. Yes and I know marriage should not be broken my wife had an affair and I still tried to make things work. I did what I could do in my marriage to make it work. This is all much appreciated 😊 I would like to add that it's anyone who hasn't healed from a relationship, whether recent, not so recent, or long ago. If someone is still holding up a candle/ shrine to someone long ago, then that person has been thoroughly romanticized in their head, and nothing you do or are, will be able to ever meet this ideal. Not the same for someone who sincerely still feels brotherly/sisterly love and respect for their deceased/ex loved one. This can actually be a good sign. Run from anyone who runs their ex/exes down. They are someone who is not prepared to take responsibility for their own actions that weren't good, and were more than likely a contributing factor/s. They will do the same to you. Do your very best to find out why the previous relationship ended. Maybe they committed adultery etc. There should be no harm in asking his family and friends, and visa versa. Don't fall for love is blind. If it's blind, it's not real. Also the very obvious but most often made mistake, " He/she is TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!" It inevitably is. Thank you both for a great and much needed podcast. This subject is vital because children will more than likely become part of the equation. There are too many damaged people in the world due to wrong marriages and/or divorces. It creates a vicious cycle. God continue to bless you both for being true soldiers/sheep for Christ. 🙏 🔥 🙏. Btw, l love that, "When the guitar stops playing the strings are still there." I also found that older females, ( my being a female) in genuinely healthy marriages are of great help. Grandmothers are great and don't have to be your own.
I say this with all respect. On the question of should you marry someone from different culture? If you are believers, you are citizens of the kingdom. Your marriage, decisions are Christ centred. If you are born again and the other person is born again , you solve your problems with your knees. Through prayers , fasting loving each other as Christ loved us. For me , I would marry anyone that Loves the Lord more than me. Being a citizen of the kingdom is important to me than where they come from. We will make it because our marriage will be Christ centred.

I'm a woman in my early 30's and am currently dating with a purpose of marriage but this made me think about a lot of things. Being raised in a Slavic church I felt like there was very little guidance in how to date in a way that is honoring to God. It was a topic that was very "taboo". Around 7 years ago my ex boyfriend (a good Christian guy) and I broke up because I was not ready to kiss him (because of a determination I made when I just came to the Lord years before). Let me say, I was wanting it very much but struggled with the cognitive dissonance I was experiencing. We broke up because he felt very rejected, before I even figured out my problem. I healed pretty slow though (two years) from that break up. Now, looking back, years later I don't regret not kissing him at all. It is just a beautiful thing to know that my husband will be enjoying no comparison whatsoever. Spared me a lot of internal and external struggles.

I couldn't agree more with you. I was sexually abused and humiliated as a child and grew up incapable of dating or having a gf. Although I felt the physical desire for sex I was also scared to even try to do it. I never dated successfully so that it became a dating relationship. So I retreated inward and engaged in fantasy and self pleasuring. Now I am in recovery and the cure includes no dating and no sexual activity. I am single and celibate and abstinent. I'm finally at peace knowing this is the life I want for me now!

I am 41 years old never thought about marriage or settling down because I was always having to much fun lusting for women at the night clubs for half my life. I started attending my local church to brake free from sin and after one year of attending bible college and serving as usher, for the first time I want to get married to a woman of God and I no longer desire to go to the night clubs to seek woman. So far, there is one young woman who has been so nice to me at church since day one, and I am believing and asking God for her to be the one thank God and these pastors for helping me brake free.

A friend of mine married an Elder of a church. Reads and pray all the time and yet he cheated on her twice and slept with a family member of hers. Ask God for his discernment when being approached by Any man.
I'm sure he still had red flags... I ignored red flags with someone who appeared Godly, worked for the church, yet many red flags.
Lana's story made me cry because I can relate so much to what she said. 😢 We need to remind ourselves that we are a new creation. We are not our past.
watching this now a year after being with someone who I wasn’t really meant to be with but ignoring all the red flags it’s crazy how all of this is ringing truth into my ear after learning all of this the hard way. But it really stuck with me and this video just reminded me how vital it is to actually appreciate my identity and being single to heal from all of the things I’ve been through. I can only thank the Lord.

I'm watching this a year later...but im going through a season of coming through a failed marriage, failed relationships and unwanted pregnancies and i recently had a baby and really wanted to be with the father of my new born but he didnt share the same sentiment. For two days I had feelings of anxiety, worry and loneliness, and I watched Isaiah's and Vlad's videos each time, the content not being relevant. I went on and dated someone that is not in the Lord, got into fornication and later got a daughter...my daughter is only 5 months old, i decided to leave her father (who was at the time my fiancee)not because his a bad person but because we were unequally yoked and he is not in the Lord i lacked the peace of God and never knew it...i was so sure God would change him along the way..i forced him to come to the lord and love him but i learnt the hard way that am not the convictor of the hearts of men!!😂😂! Next time god willing,i will be on guard and instead of looking for certain qualities,God should help me work on my character and qualities! This was really revealing to me thank you so much.. my Ex dumped me and crazy enough she is the reason why I honestly came to the feet of God and have giving myself even more to him about 2 years ago we went to the same church and I started to get more into touch to the Lord and guess what a lot of negativity started to happen to myself and then we grew apart. She was and is very knowledgeable about the Bible but I found out she is dating someone who is part of the Yoruba religion or the man she is dating now practices Santeria just like her ex who she had a son with prior to me. 2. Why does God allow widows to marry other men and vice versa if just ONE person was supposed to be their partner, is God inconsistent in his world?
3. Even if there was this system of one predestined individual for another, the system broke with Adam's sin and will not be restored until the forms a new Jerusalem. The reason our bodies have physical death is that God's system is long broken and is awaiting reconstruction!

When I was saved more than twenty years ago, I went through years of deliverance to heal trauma. God healed me to such an extent that the Holy Spirit has brought so much emotional and psychological freedom that I feel like I'm living in Heaven already. I went from fearing being alone for the rest of my life to the complete opposite - I can't imagine being anything other than single. It's a bit difficult to explain - it's like a neverending river of peace and joy flowing from my spiritual belly and I can't get enough of it.

I was with my ex wife for 17yrs. And married for of those. We were in church on and off but not committed. I have been back whole seeking God's will for my life for 6months now. I have meet someone that I feel like may be the 1, but Only if God truly puts her in my life. We meet in a divorce care group, but my focus is more on God and who he is, if he ever wants me to be remarriage. God has got to be #1 in your life. Yes and I know marriage should not be broken my wife had an affair and I still tried to make things work. I did what I could do in my marriage to make it work. I would like to add that it's anyone who hasn't healed from a relationship, whether recent, not so recent, or long ago. If someone is still holding up a candle/ shrine to someone long ago, then that person has been thoroughly romanticized in their head, and nothing you do or are, will be able to ever meet this ideal.
Not the same for someone who sincerely still feels brotherly/sisterly love and respect for their deceased/ex loved one. This can actually be a good sign. Run from anyone who runs their ex/exes down. They are someone who is not prepared to take responsibility for their own actions that weren't good, and were more than likely a contributing factor/s. They will do the same to you. Do your very best to find out why the previous relationship ended. Maybe they committed adultery etc.
There should be no harm in asking his family and friends, and visa versa. Don't fall for love is blind. If it's blind, it's not real. Also the very obvious but most often made mistake, " He/she is TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!" It inevitably is.
Thank you both for a great and much needed podcast. This subject is vital because children will more than likely become part of the equation.
There are too many damaged people in the world due to wrong marriages and/or divorces. It creates a vicious cycle.

I also found that older females, ( my being a female) in genuinely healthy marriages are of great help. Grandmothers are great and don't have to be your own.
I say this with all respect. On the question of should you marry someone from different culture? If you are believers, you are citizens of the kingdom. Your marriage, decisions are Christ centred. If you are born again and the other person is born again , you solve your problems with your knees.
Through prayers , fasting loving each other as Christ loved us. For me , I would marry anyone that Loves the Lord more than me. Being a citizen of the kingdom is important to me than where they come from. We will make it because our marriage will be Christ centred.
Ok, but make sure your values line up. The culture thing isn’t as important as your values. Having different values will make your marriage bumpy

This has been super helpful. It would be nice if you could do more videos like this. I'm a woman in my early 30's and am currently dating with a purpose of marriage but this made me think about a lot of things. Being raised in a Slavic church I felt like there was very little guidance in how to date in a way that is honoring to God. It was a topic that was very "taboo". I do wish I heard this earlier in my life to avoid some mistakes. But I'm supper greatful for your guys' biblical perspective.

Around 7 years ago my ex boyfriend (a good Christian guy) and I broke up because I was not ready to kiss him (because of a determination I made when I just came to the Lord years before). Let me say, I was wanting it very much but struggled with the cognitive dissonance I was experiencing. We broke up because he felt very rejected, before I even figured out my problem. I healed pretty slow though (two years) from that break up. Now, looking back, years later I don't regret not kissing him at all. It is just a beautiful thing to know that my husband will be enjoying no comparison whatsoever. Spared me a lot of internal and external struggles.
