So I'm actually one of the 3 weddings that went down here in 2017. He actually did manage to get a pretty nice spot built out but Doug is spot on regarding the exterior and the way dude carried himself. While we had a really nice ceremony and reception in the hall and the demo garage space there was some background drama that was pretty nuts. For starters their caterer left them and resulted us having to go with a much better (but more expensive one)
We had to hire landscapers day of because the grass and weeds were a foot tall so we had to cut HIS PROPERTY.
The back hall for cocktail hour was half finished and walled off with curtains.
They had locked and blocked off multiple fire exits.
They were an hour late giving us access to the space.
they locked my 4 year old sister and 3 and 5 year old nieces alone in a dressing room and it took us 20 min to get them out after the police we hired for the day made her open the door or he was knocking it down.
His psycho sister walked in on my wife tits out in the dressing room multiple times trying to take photos despite us having a WRITTEN agreement with them that absolutely no photos from our event could be used by them as we have a ton of family in law enforcement who have done lots of sensitive work. This was an issue over and over again.
During the reception we had to keep requesting the AC be turned back on because ohio is hot in August. And it somehow kept getting turned off.
Dude stole alcohol, leftover food AND a box of cupcakes during reception!
AND THENNN weeks after the wedding he sent us an invoice for an additional 3k claiming we never gave him a deposit, we used space we hadn't booked (nor did he finish in time) and a bunch of other bullshit fees we supposedly cause them.
They lost that battle and apparently every one there after 😀
Guess what goes around comes back 🤪

You can be sued for libels for actively spreading information about someone, even if what they’re doing seems wrong. People have their own responsibility to undertake due diligence on someone before doing business with them. Also Doug had said up until the point of going up to see the place the second time that he thought “maybe” this thing might actually happen. Sometimes you need to err on the side of caution before shutting someone else down.

Car guys can sniff out a douch a mile away. A politician came in once and started talking about how big into local business they were. My boss goes "I see you drive a VW, the nearest dealer in 3 hours away."
    He walked out.

I spent some time at CME. I did not know most of this. I knew about the questionable relationship with vendors/subcontractors (as I had done some work there), but the rest of the story was news. I know some of the people that lost money there. Truly a sad end to a really exciting concept.

Very fascinating! Just a heads up. I am also a Christian who is active in their church and I was a full-time Christian worker just out of college. When I see Christian symbols on a business card or other promotional materials I am very hesitant to hire that person for the reasons you stated here. I don't want to sound harsh but my view is using your personal faith to promote your business is about as low as you can go. When I need work done I want the best person for the job no matter what their faith is or if they have no faith at all. There are so many scams geared for exploiting Christians and especially Christian seniors as they are generally a trusting bunch of folks.

Same here. Anytime I see that someone has an abundance of “Christian” signage I am immediately put on my guard. Show me you’re a Christian by your actions not by your “Christian “ accoutrements

I remember this place. He had some story (he was at a show) that he opened one of these in Minnesota. He's originally from Cleveland, and is giving it a go 'back home'. I do remember finding the Minnesota place online, it had storage condos with where the owners would give it their decor, lofts, etc. can't find it now....
I get to drive by the place on the way to see the parents. It is as described: a hole. It's not convenient to get to, or near a freeway (exit), it's not even close to an affluent demographic; just roughly centered in the area, but ignoring areas to the south. BTW, th eproperty is still owned by the LLC.
Love the idea, car guys and collectors showing off or working on their collections. I'd just put it in Richfield, convenient to multiple freeways.

I work for a guy doing remodeling and stuff. We did some stuff for a guy that loved to take a huge game and throw around money like it was nothing. Something about him rubbed me the wrong way I did some research and found out he had been in and out of federal prison including just gotten out for running pyramid schemes and scams and was even on America's Most Wanted.

He did nothing except become friends with a con-man who his friend in FBI sent him a mug shot of. Wtf
