Don't you love when someone goes, "I don't like drama" and then proceeds to create more drama than anyone else you've ever known in your life?
Same story here.
Or what? Act like you don't know about the other floorplan audit guy and cover for a dude who is clearly trying to commit (yet another) fraud? Play stupid games, win stupid prices.
I agree 👍
Need a meme of Doug walking away from a building as it explodes, action movie style, putting on the Dirty Stig sombrero. Doug car story is best car story!
“Doug car story is best car story” 😂
Truer words, my friend, truer words.
As he drives away from the explosion, tons of title copies for the car he’s driving flys out the back and windows.
Lmao

I got caught by one of these scams right before 2020. Apex Auto in Washington. I never got my $43,000 back but everyone there did go to jail for several years before they were all deported back to Russia. Damn shame as i saved for a long time to buy that car.
Sorry to hear that. What car were you looking to buy.
I knew their asses we sketchy AF
Who needs enemies when you have a friend like Doug.
Oi vey
You see a Porsche and the word "scam" in the thumbnail, you know it's a Doug video! 😂
I'm not a Porsche guy, but this really makes me want to deal with Doug. He understands integrity.
Interesting take. I think like everybody on this channel he is a sleazy used car salesman ,his reason for living is to empty your wallet. They’re certainly entertaining, but I wouldn’t use the word ‘integrity’ about any of them.
Doug, as a believer, I'm always reminded of the same scripture when I heard your stories like this: Be shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. -Matthew 10:16
Doug always has the best stories. Thanks Doug!

So apparently it’s not uncommon for dealerships to have multiple floor plan financing deals for different parts of their inventory.
That means that it’s not a bad sign to have two floor plan auditors for different lenders doing their job, as long as the one auditor’s checklist doesn’t have any vehicles from the other auditor’s checklist lmao
Ah
Got scammed in State of Florida and the State did nothing and Manheim still lets this guy use another dealers license to pass as a dealer.
What he did was sell a car and boat for me through the auctions.
Then sold me a boat and a car he never owned, just pulled vin and Hull numbers off of ads from dealers and pocketed the money.
Police did nothing, said it was Civil when it is not.
He also sold a salvage boat on eBay to guy in California as if it was a nice running boat. Got judgement against him and still nothing.
Stephen Mazzo is the turds name.
Almost bought a C6 for 13k from these guys last month. Interesting. The listing was with no pictures but "ran perfect". The night before I drive down I get a text saying "Hey it actually needs a tune up and spark plugs." I didn't call after that.
I've done several deals with him. I got through unscathed. He had a title to my 911 for 8 months. But that was my decision because I wanted to use it for a possible trade. Luckily I got the title with no leans on it!
I’ve purchased from Direct Auto in TN before. It was a 2014 Jetta TDI Sportwagen. It was a cash transaction, about four years back, with no trade-in. It took about 7 weeks to get the plates, but that was the only hiccup. Great car, great price. Perhaps I was lucky.
Perhaps you dealt with him before he was having cash flow issues.
Used to live in Clarksville. I remember i went to his dealer a couple of years back. Because it's one of the only dealers in town with nice cars. It's a military town. Sorry to hear people lost money with this guy. Love what you do VinWiki.
CNC motors? Didn't Doug (DeMuro) review cars of them?
Doug has reviewed a lot of cars.
He did, several times, but I doubt he was privy to any of the shenanigans, otherwise I don't think he would've worked with them.
But that's just my guess :)
@@bluewombathe talked about it I think. He didn’t know, and hadn’t reviewed any cars from them for a while, before any illegalities occurred
I knew that name was familiar. Yeah he had a few videos from that dealership. Doubt he knew anything about the scam part
I used to live in Clarksville TN. This dealer might be a scammer but Gary Mathews is well known to be the same or worse
1:00 oh, so. Hennessy?
Ive had three floor plan companies before. Its not unheard of.
I traveled from Chattanooga to their dealership and immediately felt like something was fishy and left after a few minutes 😮 thank god I did😊
1:50 I thought Doug was going to do a throw back and say “it’ll be your own asphalt”. 😄
I wonder if the owner of the 968 got his money…
Allegedly he had gifted it to Charles a while before all of this. It seemed a bit far fetched but his mechanic said that's what actually happened. There were other cars on consignment though from that same guy, so who knows if he also got caught up in it with those cars.
I almost bought a 928 for 1800$ that ran and drove good no real damage but that was 6 years ago! What a time to be alive
That’s a good looking 968!
Ha I live in Clarksville Tennessee pretty sure he was black listed for fort Campbell
So wild that this happened in my hometown.
Doug is the type of guy who I would run into a shop or car show and be super cool to talk to and hangout with. But he would never be my friend.
He’s your friend but you’re not his friend type of deal lol
You really screwed Charles lol
Doug has the best stories ever
What a rat move, to tell on him to the floorplan guy! 😮
FYI: In Ohio, Floor plans place E-liens on used car titles, which is publicly accessible info
It’s often when a business starts going “south” with cash flow (or lack thereof) that scamming starts which leads to frauds. Bankruptcy allows for businesses to fail because misjudgments in the market or sh!t happens (e.g., COVID). A realistic ownership considers Chapter 11 when there is something to pay for filing to get time to restructure or Chapter 7 if FUBAR. Ego driven owners start scamming then go deep into fraud involving USPS mail or interstate wire communications (Federal Court). Did someone mention COVID PPP loans? Sounds like trouble if mis-spent.
I can attest to the fact of covid was great for dealerships 😂 we doubled our sales both years. Had 400+ cars on the lot every month and sold about half each month, if not all. Being one of only 2 Subaru dealerships definitely helped, especially since the other is a couple hundred miles away lol.
He was on fire and waiting on someone to piss
Hey Doug- Saw you at Amelia Island off in the distance at the Ritz while the bidding was going on
I saw this on Netflix. Guys a punk. Turned on everyone. Can’t wait until his partner gets out of prison to tell his side of the scam

Doug stories are the best
Scottsdale lotus 2001 that was one crazy story
I'm not supporting or condoning scammers in any way but I can understand the mentality. If they are going to break the law then they might as well go balls out
Oh a Doug story! This should be good!
Why is it that every single story this creep tells is negative ? What's the point of this story ? He didn't get ripped off so who's he to say anything about how somebody else does business . If you ask me I'd say this fictional story teller is a oeri not to trust !!
New Story from the Mexican Stig?! I'm in!
I love roasting catfish scammers on instagram.
There's somethimg wong with credit system if a floorplan lender can have an interest in car, but there's no lien on record, so that someone else can be on the hook for the loan after the fact. No lien should mean no claim to the vehicle, that's what they're for.
I think that is pronounced Sum Ting Wong?
Sounds like he is an automotive version of Call Saul..

So he never scammed you and did nothing but good business with you. Yet you’re on here slandering him from hearsay? There is always 2 sides of the story.
Doug is not just a Snitch in real life but has the face and personality to play one on TV
Why on earth should he have allegiance and keep secrets for scam artist dealership owners? Its better for everyone but the scam artist if they get blasted online.
Smarmy Doug!
Surprised you don't know how floorplans work. They pay the full purchase price of the car when you buy it and hold the title as collateral. Not sure where this 80/20 up front comes from. Since they're based on the vehicle title as collateral, you can have as many floorplans as you can get. I've got AFC & Nextgear. You do have to curtail them occasionally and you get stroked on the interest & fees if you don't sell pretty fast though.
Depends on the floorplan. I haven't had one in a decade, tried it for a year, was way too expensive. And they did not put a lien on the title they just held the title in hand, doesn't mean a dealer can't make a copy of it and send it to a buyer to say "title in hand". Nextgear would not fund 100% of the car.
@switchcars true, they hold the title but don't formally file a lien with the state. I'm just a regular dealer buying at auctions so they always fully fun my purchases. They are a little pickier about valuations on purchases from elsewhere but they'll fully fund up to what they think it's worth. They do know if a replacement title and you get called pretty quick if that happens lol
Look forward to more videos from you. Thanks for the response
If he is a friend, go back and try to help him out. TRUE FRIENDS stick around when you are down. Acquaintances run away. You, Doug, just proved what a friendship with you is truly worth. People make mistakes. Lift your brother up, don't kick him when he's down
it’s business. He’s careful about his own situation, you are too weak
If your friend turns out to be a criminal/scammer then its out of your hands. He was down because of his own actions.
Tyler hoovie bigger brother ! Bring the bra to Barrett Jackson budy
I just don't like Doug, don't know why
It’s not a Doug story without the passive aggressive complaining/anger and at least a scammer somewhere
If he was not charged with any crimes then what it seems like to me is the guy was shopping Banks to see who possibly would give him the best deal. As far as the customers not getting titles in those few cases that could be simply a clerical issue between the dealer and finance companies. All the others info got from his friend who I assume is Charles competition is just trash talk as it wasn't credible. Doug, you have out done yourself here my friend, great display of your ignorance.
You assume a lot
@@updog4L Doug is making all the assumptions here, not me.
@@Kirk_Wood "It seems", "could be", "I assume". I'm not trying to defend doug, you're just extrapolating a lot from little
@updog4L Okay Doug
You ignore all the warning signs and bad reviews at your own peril. I will heed them. Where there is that much smoke, there is likely a fire.
I'm not defending the actions of the dealer but I can understand them. If you own a business that is failing then you don't think as rationally as an outsider. The business owner is concerned with their livelihood and the responsibility they have to their family and employees and while the rational thing to an onlooker might be to file for bankruptcy the business owner is doing anything they can to survive.
Obviously in this case it went too far but show me an owner of a failing business who won't do whatever they can to keep it an ongoing concern and I'll show you a flying pig.
I'll also show you that same flying pig if you can show me a business founder who hasn't begged, borrowed or stolen in the early days to get the company off the ground. Even if you have the capital you need to start the business the first year or two are always spent with a complete disregard for the consequences of taking big risks. I dread to think how many rules and regulations I have skirted over the years to get my businesses going.
That being said I have never done anything that is unethical or fraudulent but I';m fairly sure that a court of law could pick some holes in some of the things we have had to do to survive in the early days.
