Congratulations on adopting your new baby Willow! What a little sweetheart she is! She struck it rich getting such a loving home with you. I would like to recommend buying a harness to use when you take Willow on walks so she doesn’t develop a collapsing trachea if she pulls on her leash. When I had my puppy “Toby” he chewed everything too including the bottom corner of our grandfather clock. Toby lived to be 12 years old and I miss him terribly but believe it or not, that chewed corner of my clock brings back such happy memories that I wouldn’t trade for anything. I pray I will see him again one day.🙏. Love to the three of you.❤
Best puppy tip is not waiting until they do something wrong to correct but to praise them when they make their own good decisions. They learn way faster that way from the positive reinforcement. Enjoy that little smushkin! 😍
I have 3 pitbull mixes…rescued them. They are tenacious and loving! They are crazy as puppy’s…I think all dogs are…but they become very in-tuned to you and how you are feeling! I guarantee she will be amazing therapy for both of you!
I had to go back and watch your video again. I love how she strutted out to your car; smiling, confident, and knowing she had hit the jackpot! She is going to be so much fun for you both. And she will love going for walks in your neighborhood. She is perfect!
❤❤❤ PS. Dont encourage finger biting, get her toys and should she bite your fingers, make a squealing noise and stop playing. The second she stops, tell her, shes a gooood girl. She'll get it very quickly. Always praise the wanted behaviour and distract her if she's attacking the sofa. Her own toys she can bite, so replace the object shes not supposed to chew with a toy. Thank you for adopting❣️
My best friend followed advice from a dog trainer regarding biting. Apparently when she bite you need to let out a high pitched squel as if shes hurt you, when puppie play fun fights with siblings if one hurts the other it gives out a squel to let the pup know its veing too rough. It worked a treat. Also she needs to know shes not top of the pack when it comes to food, the professional said you need to pretend to eat some of there food before giving it to them so they know there not the pack leader. I cant stress enough start as you mean to go on, its so tempting to baby them as pups because there so darn cute but honestly best to start early with the training or you will be setting your self up for future naughtiness 😅. Lots of praise for good behaviour and treats, ignore bad behavior, turn away from them if they start jumping at you or biting you. Honestly dogs like structure and guidence. Good luck shes a beauty x
Congratulations! 🎉. Willow is beautiful! She will bring a lot of laughter and happiness into your home. I love how you are already spoiling her! We have two fur babies and love them to pieces. What an exciting time for you. Kyle, you look great. I am very happy for you both. ❤️
Years ago we had a Pit Bull Terrier named Melissa. We'd leave her with my mother-in-law (who babysat 4 children under the age of 4) while we worked during the day. When we'd go to pick up Melissa after work, she usually had one of the babies my mother-in-law babysat laying across her body as a pillow. She was such a good dog, and so patient with children. I know you're going to love that puppy!
Hi guys I don't often comment on here but I just wanted to say I am so happy for you both becoming a fur baby family.❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 When we had dogs growing up we were always taught to reward the good behaviour so when you tell him No and he stops what he's doing give him a small reward/ treat. I also found puppy classes helped and if you can build a dog agility course where your living he will have so much fun running it. You start by running the course with him on a lead and then you run it with her off the lead. With puppies it's the three T's =Training, training, training. Keep their brains active and stimuated during the day, provide lots of enrichment. Also show her your the Alpha in the family otherwise she will run rings round you. Best of luck, keep the learning fun. Not to mention the giving of endless love. God bless you all xxxxxxxxxx
I'm trying to comprehend what the puppy is thinking with Her head laid back and mommies kissing one side of her face and daddy kissing the other side of her face. She looks like she is just enjoying it but I wonder if she thinks this feels as good as being back with my mom and sisters and brothers. Just as good. Because you can really she it is all good from her point of view. Love it. Congratulations on all your surgical good news and your new baby also. Much joy to the three of you.
Take a toy that you can freeze that will help with her teething, and when she gets something that’s not hers, redirect her to something that is hers. But, ice cubes and especially frozen things will definitely help because she is teething. I’m a dog groomer and behaviorist so I hope this helps🐾🎀🐾🎀
She’s not naughty, she’s a teething baby, an energetic, curious, baby, learning about the world ☺️ she ofc needs guidance & teaching like any puppy, but she’s not naughty 🥰
Get a Kong toy and stuff it with peanut butter and put it in the freezer. She's teething and it feels good to bite right now but you don't want that as a bad habit especially with the Psi of a pitbulls jaws.
This makes my heart smile so big!!! And GOD BLESS YOU FOR ADOPTING. Love you Willow girl. So beautiful!!! We got our boxer, Jam, when she was 4 months old. Best advice is to make sure she has a lot of chew bones ( not the kind they eat because those lay and rot in the stomach!!) but like Nylabone chew bones or Kong brand. Make sure she gets enough exercise and remember she’s just a baby girl so chewing is necessary during this stage! 😊😊😊. One of the most important things is to LOVE her and cherish her. 💕💕💕💕
I can tell that you will be great parents to that adorable puppy! 😍 I hope you don't mind the tip, but when your puppy does something that you don't want it to do, instead of just saying no and stopping it, give it something else to do. Puppies need to chew, so when it was chewing on your sweater, your best course of action is to redirect it to a chew toy instead! No you can't do this, but yes you can do this! Always give them an alternative. Otherwise they can become frustrated. I hope this makes sense! When they bite, move away from them and ignore them for a bit. So they learn that biting leads to boredom haha. Don't encourage play biting... no matter how cute it is now. Also positive reinforcement works super well with all my animals from birds to horses. I never punish any of them. ❤ I am super happy for you guys!!!
Congratulations. She's cute. Use a low deep tone to tell her no! Then ignore her briefly. Don't say no then love on her. A high pitch "good" when she does the right thing....and all the loves. Please consider this especially with jumping. While she's little now, she'll soon be big and you don't want her knocking anyone over. So happy for you three 💓
I strongly recommend that you research bite force inhabition training. It's really quite a simple and highly successful program, especially for puppies as smart and eager to please as Bullies. It is very important to begin as soon as possible, especially if he hasn't been with litter mates for a full 9 or 10 weeks. When I say that it's a simple program, I really mean it. It takes less than an hour to master. We've successfully trained 9 puppies on the program, and they all caught on within days and never went back to using their teeth on people or their clothing. As for the chewing on everything else... All I can recommend is close supervision and lots of alternative options for teething on. Aside from the obvious options, I found saplings, at least an inch in diameter, with the bark still on to be very useful. It's quite messy but useful, nonetheless. It's far easier and less expensive to clean up a mess than to repair or replace your walls, kitchen cabinets, and furniture. They love chewing and tearing the bark off. Just be sure to supervise them at first to ensure they aren't inclined to eat it. None of the ones we fostered did, but they were also extremely well fed. As in, they usually ate better than we did. Lol
Congrats!!! It is all about distractions! Always have chew toys around, baby proof your place so she doesn’t get into anything that could harm her. She is still too young to understand what “no” is, so have patience ❤❤❤
She absolutely precious!!! Try to be as quick as yall can when she is chewing something she isn’t supposed to and put a toy or chew stick in her mouth and pick a phrase such as, “chew this” and eventually she will learn what’s good to chew and what’s not. Yall are so loving. I’m so happy she got yall as her parents. It I think of any more tips I’ll pass them on, I have a four year old rat terrier chihuahua that is learning to be my service dog. I was born with Spina Bifida.
She looks like our Tank who we got at the same age...smart, silly, chewing...bought some textured nyla chew toys on Amazon...really needs to chew to work off some energy...God bless your little family
aw she's so cute! We have a new pup too. He's almost 5 months old and rotten! He's a Mountain Feist so he also has terrier in him. So much energy and stuuuuuborn!
@@SimplyRachelOBare lots of toys and playing fetch to wear him out. Buy him some bully sticks for his chewing. Look for the ones that don't have any odor. Also, we had to get a water bottle and we spray him when he's really obnoxious. We had another Mountain Feist and neither of us remember her being so ornery. It's exhausting!
@ my grand dog that I help pick up from doggie daycare and Saturday’s is my best friend in the world. James is a beautiful pit bull/ hound mix that my daughter and son in law rescued . Dad travels on tours with his band so I help whenever he is away or anytime I am needed. If I go too long seeing James I have to stop by so we can have a walk together and I bring lots of dog treats he loves.

Congratulations on your new baby, Willow!!! How funny because I just adopted a 12 week old Old English Sheepdog puppy and she's amazing, but biting me like crazy!!! Love, love, love this for you and Kyle (and Willow of course!)!!! This is just what all three of you needed!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Edit: I gave my Ella baby a bully stick and it was a big mistake because she swallowed the whole thing!!! There is a company that sells these dehydrated fish skins and they have been great to keep her chewing and distracted. The company name is The Honest Kitchen and the fish skins are called Ocean Chews. It's one ingredient and they are a great natural company. I like the cod skins and the wolffish skins. Hope this helps!! If you find any other ideas for chewing, please let me know too. You guys are great dog parents!!
Congrats 🥰🥰 I have had dogs all my life, now just one. Cant think about a life without a dog or animals. Hide treats is a very good training. Have fun 🥰🥰
