Thank you so much for this video, this gives me a great relief after understanding what the boundaries were for the last few years, especially because my 0607 Octobet November series exams had just gotten over., and i am extremely eager for my results!!😊
but i really wish this were there for my science subject as well 😅
Hi Ashtav, I could do this for the Science courses as well 😊 Which iGCSE do you take for Science?
@@GingerMathematician Thank you so much!!, I take Biology(0610) Physics(0625) Chemistry(0610) syllabuses, again thank you so much for doing this!😃😃
Thank you so much played a huge role in decreasing my anxiety
No problem Meow happy to help :-)
I’m so disappointed with paper 41, because 21 went so well! I got a prediction for an A* for math but paper 4 was wayyyy too difficult. Thank you for the video, it was super helpful!❤️
There is hope Raeba if 67% can be A* 🤞🙂
You helped me get A* in the may/June igcse math session thank you very much you helped me a lot!!!!!
No problem Syed glad it went so well 🙂 Are you onto A-Level or IB?
I'm having a mental break just thinking about how bad my paper 4 went, I left 3 questions coz I didn't understand a thing. The most infuriating thing about this is that in my school exams I got 100+ and I studied hard for it but the paper was like hell.
Well if the grade boundaries are as low as 70% for an A*, there is always that chance...
If you don’t mind me asking…what was your grade?
In GCSE? A* 😊
@@GingerMathematician I actually asked the other person who commented but thats fine😂😂
Hope to get that A* as well for may June 2023🤝
@@GingerMathematician🔥🔥
Great Breakdown! My school keeps 92% for an A* and 85% for an A. So this calms my nerve EXTREMELY! Thank YOU!
Glad it helped L3ZAR :-) Perhaps a higher grade for A* could be justified if it is just a topic test but generally the data speaks for itself...
@@GingerMathematician I have 0580 Feb/March exams 2023. What's your best guess on the averages then? My Term exams have an A* as 92%. I have the 42 paper

@@TEAML3ZAR hey could you say what the curve on it was if you know because my exam is in a week

this is making me more relaxed, i did really well in paper 2 and 4 but paper 6 made no sense to me and i was worried that it would bring my whole score down. thank you very much♥
You're welcome! It's great to hear that my response was able to help put your mind at ease. It's not uncommon to struggle with a particular section of an exam, especially when the questions are presented in a way that you're not used to. It's important to remember that one section doesn't necessarily define your entire performance, and that you should still be proud of the parts that you did well in.
Try not to worry too much about the parts that you struggled with, and instead focus on the areas where you excelled. If you do end up getting a lower score on paper 6 than you had hoped, remember that it's not the end of the world. There are always opportunities to improve and learn from your mistakes in the future.
In the meantime, try to take some time to relax and recharge. You've worked hard and deserve to take a break. I wish you all the best with your results, and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions or concerns! :-)
Hoenestly tthis was helpful and it helps me to worry less about not reaching the A* grade i need
Hi Lisa, Cambridge do change grade boundaries quite considerably if the paper is overly difficult 😊
Eish sir you are the goat thank you soo much🙏🙏
Do my best Sahib ;-)
hi sir! i told you in a comment under another one of your videos that i would update you when my results for 0580 came out, and they came out 2 hours ago.
paper 22 was average not too hard while paper 42 was very difficult so i’m not surprised about my grades. i was hoping for an A but the threshold turned out to be 146/200 for an A which is very high. i got a B which is a little disappointing seeing as i really love math but it’s alright! you were a huge help when i was studying so thank you so much sir
Hi Lee great to hear from you 🙂 B is still a good grade and you should be proud 👍

Thank you so much Sir for putting your time and effort into creating videos that are a game changer for self-study students like me😊! Sir, one question that I have been meaning to ask, why the second variant tends to have a higher grade boundary? Thank you.
I haven't really come to any conclusions as to why - I'm just following the data given... 🤔
My board math paper (0580/22) is in a few days, and right now in practice, I am averaging around 59/70 in that paper, and 160/200 in total. Glad to know i can still get an A with these marks 😵
The key thing is to fight for every mark... and the grade boundaries will work themselves out 🙂
Cambridge said that the threshold/boundaries for 2023 will be in level with that in 2019. In 2019 an A in paper 4 was 108/130 so that's 83 percent and 55 out of 70 for an A in paper 2(78 percent) . out of 200 for and A* you need 183/200 or 92 percent and for a A you need 163 or 82 percent. This is for Variant 2 btw
It will all depend on how the whole cohort of students do... I doubt it will be as high as 2019 👍
It was very helpful sir thank you. The October November IGCSE paper 41 was really tricky ... Will the thresholds be lower in this case ?
I suspect so... May 2022 (1) was as low as 67% for an A* 🙂👍
Thank you sir 😊
@@GingerMathematician what about next year may june?
I go through average grade boundaries here 😊: ruclips.net/video/AVxznqEjZao/видео.html
so if you are doing foundation? for igcse maths so just core, what would you need to achieve the highest grade of a c?
iGCSE Core the boundary to get a C generally fluctuates between 60 and 65% :-)
Lowest threshold (2021) - 68%
Highest threshold (2018 & 2019) - 91%
For the moment..
Awesome predictions. Where we can get different worksheets topic wise of Cambridge math 0580.
Means websites. Can u pls
Worksheets I think just the textbook is superior 🙂👍
Hello Mr. Ginger, the 2023 gradethresholds were said to be close to 2019 in the Cambridge website. Is that true for FM 2023?
We will see Siddhu, I don't think there will be too much change 🙂👍
What do you reckon an A* would be on the 0580 paper 23 october november paper?
Really hard to predict Loneet but somewhere between 80 and 85% is my best guess 👍
You said even with standard deviation that the thresholds would probably hit 67% or so. But cambridge's said threshold's standard's are going back to 2019, and in 2019 (for Variant 2) - the thresholds for an A were at 82% and 92% for A*. That's very high and beyond the normal expectation. Currently from my past papers on average, I'm sitting at 69-72% which is basically ~140-145
I'm worried that even if I am able to improve by 10 more - I'd be unable to get an A if thresholds hit 160 or more. So will there be a massive change from last year? Where thresholds were quite low?
I think that Covid has had a long-lasting impact on student progress and will take years to "go back to normal". Sure Cambridge would like to go back to 2019 levels but I don't think this will happen suddenly 👍
@@GingerMathematician Oh thank you. Btw, I have a question. Is the Casio-fx 991EX allowed in the IGCSE? I was told it is for A Levels but its scientific and doesnt have any graphical ability.

i think this year the grade boundaries will be higher since cambridge is going back to pre pandemic grade boundaries right?
We will see... I don't think there will be too much change 🙂 👍

Hi Saketh, any personal requests you can e-mail me at gingermathematician@gmail.com :-) A* has on rare occasions been that high but certainly in the last few years been nowhere near that level...
ay bruh i took 0580 earlier in march and yeah an a* is 90% and more and with grade boundaries you need to get 90% and more to get an a* for example if ur grade boundaries for math is around lets say 160 instead of the original 200 if i recall correctly, you need to only get a 144 which is 90 percent of 160 but if u compare it with 200 then you are going to get a 72 percent or the equivalent of a B. it applies to every course u take in igcse
@@mihir5381 oh wait so this doesnt apply for 0580? Cuz I was happy until now lol
@@sakethkakarla4530 i literally just said it applies to every igcse course and why would you be better without grade boundaries?
could you please do one for the feb/march 2023 one because idk the curve on it and my exam is in 1 week time

Hi Mr. Ginger- I've revised a lot throughout the 2 years, and gotten consistent A* in my mocks for math- however my exams went really badly. I did Variant 2 0607, and I messed up a lot, especially Paper 6- I couldn't even understand what the modelling section was asking. I only answered the questions like 'show that' when the question actually gave you the answer and you work backwards. I'm sure I lost 20 marks plus, and Paper 2 and 4 didn't go great either- Sure I lost another 24 there. I was really hoping for an A* but I think at best, I'll get an A and at worst I'll get a B- I feel so defeated, math has never been my best subject but I put so much effort in. Have you got any advice? I'll update with my grade in August. Thank you!
Hi there! I can understand that you must be feeling disappointed after putting in so much effort into preparing for your math exams, and not getting the results you hoped for. It's important to remember that exams can be stressful and sometimes unpredictable, and it's not always a reflection of your true abilities.
Firstly, I want to congratulate you on consistently getting A* in your mocks, which is a great achievement and a testament to your hard work and dedication. That is something to be proud of, regardless of what your final grade ends up being.
In terms of advice, I would suggest that you try not to focus too much on what you think your grade might be, and instead focus on what you can learn from this experience. Take some time to reflect on what went wrong, and try to identify any areas where you struggled the most. This can help you to develop a better understanding of your strengths and weaknesses, which can be valuable for future exams or academic pursuits.
It's also important to remember that one exam or grade does not define you or your abilities. You should try to be kind to yourself and recognize that you did your best under challenging circumstances. If you do end up getting a grade that you're not happy with, it's important to remember that you can always learn and improve in the future.
I wish you all the best, and I hope that you can find some peace and perspective during this time. Good luck with your results in August!
@@GingerMathematician Thank you so much for your kind words, Mr.Ginger. It is going to be hard to swallow as I was predicted all A*, but there is always hope , right? At worst, I've scored 73% and at best I've scored 81%- do I have a chance of at least an A?

Hi there, it was 92% for the exam you mentioned but the Variant 1 for example was at 82.5% and this was in the same year... With the impact that Covid has had over the last few years, it seems surprising that they could bring it to a 90%+ level...
