His commentary made this video, i love seeing driven successful people like him give a window of their passions. It shows that deep down no matter what part of life you're at we are all kids deep down wanting to dig in and express our passions.

Another absolutely spectacular video! Wow, such a beautiful video of such a beautiful car. Man, I really want to own a vintage Ferrari some day. It seems to be motoring ecstasy.
The way he speaks so poetically and passionately about the car is incredible. It speaks values to how much this car means to him, and how much cars mean to all of us. I hope I can own a car someday that makes me that excited.
Just beautiful. The owner eloquently describes the emotions and feelings of owning such an amazing machine. I could sit and listen to him talk about this car for hours. Thank you sir!
This guy really has an eclectic taste. I am a car collector myself. Not anywhere near this guys level but i always have looked for the cars people overlook and in all honesty, thats how I got the money to purchase other cars.I bought a couple of identical cars that no one cared about back when in 1993 when I was 18. I sold one about 10 years ago for over 100 times what I paid for it and that gave me the opportunity to actually take my time and travel to both Europe and Japan where i purchased 2 cars in Japan, one in Germany and one from the U.K. It was the best decision I ever made. I now import cars into the U.S. and have become avery small and personal rare& vintage car dealer whichbin turn gives me first choice. i buy NOTHING without flying over to touch, smell, hear and drive ANYTHING im interested on driving, whether its for myself or a customer. I deliver and or buy only the best. Most people work EXTREMELY hard for their money and your name is everything in this business which is much smaller than one might imagine. Nice story, however don't really have respect for the collector in the video, owner of Axis wheels... they make cheap copies of classic Japanese wheels, seems there is a lot of money to be made by blatantly copying other's work. Meh...
I absolutely love this video, thank you so much for sharing it with the rest of us. Although a classic Ferrari is out of my reach, I am fortunate to be able to experience the passion of Ferrari via the joy I get every time I take out my F430 for a drive........and just like James Chen I never turn on the radio, the sound of the engine & exhaust is truly a wonderful symphony to my ears. James Chen if you read this post, take care of your Lusso, it is truly a work of art on wheels, but continue to drive it like you're on the mountain roads of northern Italy :-)
Wally R. Keep your car... One day it might become as valuable as the Lusso. Keep it as close to factory stock as possible also. Too many people buy new Ferrari's and add custom wheels and body kits to them, absolutely destroying the future value...
OfficialEpic222 Thanks for the comment and sorry for the delayed response. I've always been a believer that there is nothing better than a stock car, especially a Ferrari....so I am happy that the previous owner kept it stock and I have not changed a thing about it......well, except for the oil ;-) Ciao

This is the only video on youtube which I have to watch every week over and over again and I will continue watching it over and over again to who knows when
The passion he has for his car is amazing, i think these types of old classic cars are works of art. That guy really is one lucky many and i am not jelous of him at all i am happy for him.
I love hearing passionate stories like this from the owners. You can recite the same performance figures and engineering specs over and over again, but hearing such passion from this man is beautiful. And by god, that V12 is just heaven to listen to.
I may be young but I for some reason really like old and classic cars, I don't really care how fast I'll be going. I just care about how it looks, how it sounds and how it feels to drive one. Thank you for sharing your experience with this car and thank you for actually driving it.
You know. I saw this video when it was first uploaded..like 15mins and I clicked....I think and I fell it love. It's 2015 and I think about this like every month. Keep coming back.
First time I watched this video was somewhat close to ten years ago. I still watch it every now and then. Today was one of those days. What a pleasure. I wanna salute Mr Chen and the Petrolicious production team. Thanks for creating my favorite car video.
I will never forget the first time I saw a Lusso up close. It was parked in an ordinary parking lot in San Anselmo, California, just sitting there, fall of 1970. Midnight blue. Awesome design. Elegant, string-of-pearls lines. A "Scent-of-a-Woman" beauty, just waiting to be asked to tango: Amazing! What a very fortunate and deserving owner Mr. Chen truly is!
I finally get to see one in the flesh in a car show last weekend. Talked to the owner who just finished a classic rally with it. The owners of these cars are true car enthusiasts. And I only spent a whole day looking at it.
In my opinion fifties and sixties ferraris are perfect. The sound's they make and their design Will never get old. You sir deserve this car and I hope your Passion and love for it never wanes.
I enjoy the way he talks about his car. So often when I watch these videos, I find myself thinking "prick!" while listening to the owners blab about their cars, but this guy gets it.
A midnight blast through the city , looks and sounds gorgeous. For once I wish Ferrari would forget performance figures and wind resistance etc and just get back to building a pure car like this 😍
What many young people don't understand about old cars like these is that the experience is what makes them so wonderful. Most teenagers are always after things like Bugattis, Lamborghinis, and the latest and most powerful Ferraris that have all the technology and power because they think it's cool, and that's fine, but they never seem to understand what this this era of car is all about. I'm 15 years old and I agree with all of that but, what's so beautiful about this car is that even though it only has around 240 horsepower, the experience is so magical. Yes, when you're in a LaFerrari, you can have 950 horsepower at the disposal of your right foot, but you can only do that on a race track. In this you can use ALL of the power. The sound, each gear change, and just starting the car and looking at it is what makes it such an enjoyable experience that can't and will never be replicated by newer Ferraris, as awesome as they are. That's why I like things like this, the 250 GT California, the 288 GTO, the boxer, and the F40.
I totally agree with you. I'm 15 and it drive me crazy when my friends talk down on cars like this. These cars are the experience of driving. Cars today are just the thought of driving. When you drive an old Ferrari, Jaguar, Alfa or whatever 60s European car, you use all of the cars power and its ability. Now people can say they have 600hp but they never truely get to use it. They just think about all the car CAN do and not what they're able to make it do.
such a far cry from the bs car makers produce today. spectacular looks, and a sound to die for. congrats at being able to enjoy one of the finest pieces ever made by a human.
If I could sum this video up in three words, it would be "poetry in motion". That's just how I feel about it. Gorgeous car, and a fantastic owner. He said all the right things.
how come some people don't like this video and this kind of video in general? This was just beautiful. Discovering this man's mindset and this beautiful car is just a pleasure, just like tasting a new candy for the first time.
"the best way to celebrate these cars is really to drive it" I love this man. He is one of the few people who buys one of these cars and uses it and enjoys it.
The 'Lusso' is a legend, an object of sublime elegance and beauty. There are very few left. This man must wake up in the morning with a huge smile on his face everyday !
@Michael Meliambro Could be worse. He could choose a hideous american brick with awful manoeuvrability. There's a reason why foreign cars sell the most in the US. Nobody wants American shit.
The 250 i believe is the most beautiful car ever made, and maybe even the most beautiful thing to have ever been made. It strikes you right in that spot and looking at it and hearing it just makes me want to cry.
You could have right. The interiors and the bodywork are rubbish but the engines are good. Some Fiat (expecially diesel engines) engines have made over 500.000 kilometers (at least 600.000 miles) without particular problems.
galerio995 really? my family owned 3 fiats and they all fucked up really bad with lesst than 200.000km youre probably thinking why have you bought another one if yours fucked up? well i didnt, i had a fiat seicento sport , my sister had a 2000 fiat punto and my dad had a fiat bravo, and they all fucked up head gaskets like they where disposable napkins, and we all looked after our cars well, they kept fucking up till we quit fiat
Hugo Silva Hey dude, a Fiat and a Ferrari aint the same thing. A Fiat is a piece of shit. A Ferrari is a handmade piece of art. The level of craftsmanship is unparallelled.
this guys classic car morning ritual: wakes up when he wants to and decides to drive the ferrari today, get dressed with no rush, start up the ferrari without a care in the world and drive along to his whimsey. my morning ritual: holy shit its 7, throw clothes on, slam down breakfast, and hope to god that my 1966 mustang wants to start this morning.
I couldn't agree more with this owner's attitude and perceptions. (Same reason I've been removing the in-dash radio from all my cars since my 356B in the mid-1980s: who needs distractions from the driving experience?) The driving experience in this Lusso would be heavenly.
I stumbled upon your channel, I must say, excellent work, well done! Very refreshing to see great cinematography that pays homage to beautiful cars topped with intricate stories. I'll be catching up to all your videos - Subscribed.
Yesterday, I saw a black GT Lusso out on Highway 101. Simply amazing to see it move down the road and that beautiful exhaust note. Ah, just to see a rare car being used as it should be is a wonderful sight to behold.
Anyone else reminded of that movie of the professional getaway driver\stuntmant set in DTLA directed by Renf? Actors name is Ryan? Movie title is Drive.
The owner's comments are all spot on. The Lusso is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cars ever made, and that's coming from a die-hard Aston owner who considers the Lusso to be one of the few cars to rival the beauty of the Gaydon-era V8 Vantage. Thank you for this remarkable video!
This is my Favourite Petrolicious clip so far ,not just the car ,but the owner seems like a nice guy and the way he talks about his car and his Ritual is awesome
He says there are no aerodynamic principles involved in designing this car, but the kamm tail is in itself an aerodynamic device, along with the tiny integrated spoiler at the very tip of the tail. The Lusso was apparently the first road-going Ferrari to feature either of these. Nit picking aside, I have watched this video many times and continue to love it.
That sound of engine coming through the firewall, the sound of outside air flowing around the car, the long dramatic pauses between shifts, some things that can only be experienced in a car that's 50 years old.
Imagine how screwed you'd be if someone was chasing you and you had to make a quit getaway. "Oh wait good sir, could you please allow some short time for my carburetors to fill up, will you?"
What is sad is young ppl don't get it. I would ask why do they like the newer Ferrari's and Lambo's over the old. And they would say because there faster. The other day i saw a Jaguar FX and then it came to me, with the technology today you really can make any car really fast, but you can't make any car feel, drive and sound like this. They really don't get it.
sorry sir,but believe me or not,its 3 in the morning and im 20yrs old looking at these vids for roughly last hour or more and im just stunned and sad that my dad isnt a car enthusiast and sad due to the fact I'll have to work my ass off to afford any of this...but someday I will :)
Marko Sterpin I use to say that too, when i was 20, over 20 years ago. Some of my dream cars i thought were out of reach, back then i can have today for the price of a Ford family car. And there still sooooo much fun to drive, even today. So, yea. I know the feeling.
yup, well it aint a good comparison but,I drive golf 4 1.4 75hp,and my mom and dad have golf 7 1.4 120hp,and the 7 is faster agile and all but man does driving my old one feel much more connected, the steering wheel,gearbox,throttle/brake/clutch pedal,it all feels much more connected to eachother while golf 7 feels more like a car for old folks,no feel no nothing, just smooth ride without anything to disturb it
Well I really do love old cars like this one.. or an old porsche 911.. and I'm just 24 years old.. so you might be wrong, if you say, that young ppl don't get it, probably most of them, yes.. but definitely not all of them ;)
I think the majority of young people with the money would buy the newest luxury sports car that is hyped with marketing and prestige. It is sad to see how cars lose character, as they become more advanced. Touch screens, monitors, big rims, obnoxious sound systems, chrome wraps.. some people just don't understand what car enthusiasm is really about.
What a beautiful car - driving art form and the sound it makes !!! - wish they made cars likes this now - great video an owner to share his car, experiences and not afraid to give it some push.

this guys classic car morning ritual: wakes up when he wants to and decides to drive the ferrari today, get dressed with no rush, start up the ferrari without a care in the world and drive along to his whimsey.
my morning ritual: holy shit its 7, throw clothes on, slam down breakfast, and hope to god that my 1966 mustang wants to start this morning.
***** kinda fit u and the car personality
Can't really complain with a 1966 Mustang, though. That one's a beauty too.
But I get what you're saying about the morning ritual.
Same story here, eccept i drive a 1996 shit vw polo.... yes it can be worse.
That's the spirit ! Kudos, man !
You need leather driving gloves there's your problem lol
This is the most beautiful car ever made, in my humble opinion. If I could have any car in the world, I'd want this one. Fantastic!
I couldn't agree more with this owner's attitude and perceptions. (Same reason I've been removing the in-dash radio from all my cars since my 356B in the mid-1980s: who needs distractions from the driving experience?)
The driving experience in this Lusso would be heavenly.
"The best way to celebrate cars like this is to drive and enjoy them." Well said and a great video-
Who else wants a pair of red driving gloves like his?
Right here!
+The Moto Channel I actually had a pair of snug red kid-leather driving gloves, back in the 1990s. From Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories, I think.
shut up and take my money
Paul Zink do you know anywhere where you could get them now?

Hit hit that nail right on the head. Who needs a radio when you can listen to that thing's glorious beating heart?
I stumbled upon your channel, I must say, excellent work, well done!
Very refreshing to see great cinematography that pays homage to beautiful cars topped with intricate stories.
I'll be catching up to all your videos - Subscribed.
5:43 what a fantastic sight. I am revisiting this video because I remember I cried of joy the first time a saw this back in '13. It's still ace!
Beautiful video, beautiful car.
I think this is the best classic Ferrari video on RUclips.
Beautiful!
I've probably watched this videos more than 10 times. Petrolicious made me fall in love with the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso. One day I'll own this car!
"Poetry in motion"
the cat playing with a bool doesnt give me tears, this gives, its just so perfect!
btw; he made the right choice between the lusso & the daytona...
hands down , petrolicious makes the best car videos in town....
Do you mind being my alarm clock ? I really wouldent mind being woke up by a Ferrari v12
+The Moto Channel I did actually
6 years on and still one of the top 5 videos this channel has made. Which is saying quite something as all the videos by Petrolicious are great!!
All I have to say is, right on man!!!
Beautiful :-)
This is my Favourite Petrolicious clip so far ,not just the car ,but the owner seems like a nice guy and the way he talks about his car and his Ritual is awesome
It's the first time I cried over a car! :)
What a cool guy. He completely understands the car and clearly breaks the speed limit. This man deserves his Ferrari.
Perfection of the heavens.
3:18 is the reason we love Ferraris, that V12 growl.
This is love...
Still looking for the song that starts at 5:00
Me too... :-(
do you know the name of the music
Does anyone know the name of the music?
Need that song... Can anyone help pleaseeee????
Found it yet?@@viperconcept
This is such an elegant car. It is by far my favourite looking Ferrari.
i think i just fell in love....
What a beautiful, beautiful thing. The engine noise is just perfect. I am in love.

I use to say that too, when i was 20, over 20 years ago.
This guy is the coolest. Beautiful cinematography, beautiful car. Well done.
Lucky bastard lol
What a beautiful car - driving art form and the sound it makes !!! - wish they made cars likes this now - great video an owner to share his car, experiences and not afraid to give it some push.
