HEY its Mike ,I won the first Jimny ! There was no problem with the auto transmission .The problem was under the dash, The tcm = transmission control module was bad,as they get older the capacitors burn out. They can be replaced or what I did was buy another tcm from Japan.
Change the oil in the automatic transmission, were told over here always change the oil even in so called sealed for life transmissions. It needs an extra gear on the highway or as I say motorway. Don't like the screaming .
@@aaronscott2278 Indeed, but buying one at about the same price without having to modify it would be ideal, thus the comment. Different quirky vehicles are always great to watch from a place that doesn't have them.

The button at the end of the plug is missing. Like the plug got damaged, cheap plugs fall apart with the end popping out with the fuse and spring.

Thinking about getting a Suzuki jimny jb23, something a little nicer than an Acty, what are your thoughts on the newer jimnys?
JB23 is for sure a better daily than a acty and the older jimmy's

The auto transmission is the killer for me on this Jimny.
Not hard to swap it :) I’m sure it wouldn’t be cheap but definitely doable
