I heard/read somewhere that Primus got thrown off a Rush tour, for jamming a cover of a Rush epic.

Don’t think that’s correct. They’ve always had a good relation with Rush and I’ve never read that anywhere before.

Primus did a tour in '22 where they played the Rush album Farewell to Kings front to back. Alex and Geddy were there for the Toronto show, jamming backstage. Something happened with the European leg, but I don't think it was an issue with Rush.
