Joe was “Surfin’ With An Alien” and the two became one ! 😊
What a long and great rabbit hole to go down. SO MANY great songs. Chant, Surfin' With An Alien, The Mystical Potatohead Groove Thing, Flying In A Blue Dream, Summer Song, Satch Boogie, Always With Me Always With You, Until We Say Goodbye, and so many more!
Listen to "Always with you, Always with me!"!!
I found Joe in the '80's,been listening ever since. No bad songs by Joe.
You should check out Eric Johnson's Cliffs of Dover, it's another guitar piece by a super talented player.
This is as good as rock can be without a singer, JoeSat is a Legend🤘🤘
Most Joe Satriani songs are just him playing guitar but there Awesome
Check out
"Surfing with the Alien"
"Always with Me, Always With You"
"Big Bad Moon"
Surfing with the Alien especially Live is also a great song by Joe.
definitely over 3 million views
You can certainly see his influence on Steve Vai…his actual pupil. His style reminds me of Jeff Beck quite a bit. Total mastery of his instrument. This was outstanding.
Joe Satriani "Searching" & "Bamboo" are a must 😊❤
Stuart Hamm on the bass. If you can find a video of his bass solo...check it out! Mind blowing. Keep on going down all the rabbit holes you're on.
Summer Song is a good one.
I love "Summer Song", it got me into JoeSat in the first place 😎
After a week at Giant's Stadium, building David Bowie 's "Sight and Sound Tour" scaffolding stage(105 ft towers etc) I was given a double time morning gig ,recording a MTV promotion with Bowie. I had the afternoon off, so I was just hanging out backstage. I see a guy working on guitars, changing strings , adjusting the necks etc, who I assumed was Bowie's Guitar Tech. We talked guitars for the afternoon. The next thing I know , he straps a guitar on, tells me " Well, time to go to Work!" and he walks on stage into the Spotlight! It was Joe Satriani ! Nicest, most Regular Guy you could ever meet!
Jeff Beck is another amazing guitarist. Check out Blue Wind or Dirty Mind..... jazz, rock, blues, fusion, metal, classical, flamenco even african...... Beck was a really creative guitarist! He was a guitarist that didn't need a lead singer, his guitar style was the lyricist! Was a sad day when we lost him. ❤😂❤😂❤
Beck, Zappa and Satch are my top 3 favs.
This is a pretty tame song for Satriani
A Legend imo
Check out anything from Surfin' with the Alien album. One of my favorite albums..
You love all the rockers, huh?!
@@barsandbarbells2022 I love my rock but i love music... Blues is my favorite now. I even listen to Taylor Swift. As long as people listen to music.. Music is Life
To me Joe is the greatest that walks the planet and he's been that guy for a VERY long time.
Went to see him at the Cain's Ballroom while my wife was 9 months pregnant with my son almost 30 years ago. Bless her heart she made it through 16 songs before the energy was too much. He is definitely one of the greats. Always With You, Always With Me from this same concert you just watched is a must for a beautiful melodic song. Crowd Chant from this concert was also a rocker
"Always with you, Always with me" ... Classic! Thanks for this reaction! Can't go wrong with Satriani! ✌💙✌
NICE!! Seen the man 3 times. Once at a amp demonstration in a music store. Very VERY cool individual!! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
Guitar god at his best! Need to bow down to that talent absolutely, mind blowing!!!!!!
One of my favs is Cool #9 Live from same concert. He is the Alien 🔥
Always With Me, Always With You is an amazing song and then Eric Johnson's Cliffs Of Dover is good. Also Nuno Buttencourt playing flight of the wounded bee is killer.
His sound live is incredible.
I saw Joe at a small but packed club in 1990 with his original 3 piece line up from Surfin with the Alien. Blew me away!
Saw him and Steve Vai live in Charlotte in April. Still blow away!!! Next level plus!! 😃
You need to travel down this rabbit hole absolutely superb guitar playing at its very best. He uses his guitar like a voice singing.
Joe is the man. Thank you for this video
One of the G.O.A.T'S living legend
As others have said, check out anything from Surfing with the Alien or a live version of Flying in a Blue Dream to really appreciate the wizardry that is Joe.
Now we're talking top guitar players
Flying in a blue dream is my favorite of his, either original recording or live version are fantastic.
Joe is amazing! My favs of his are "Surfing with the Alien, "Summer Song", and "Satch Boogie". Also "Something Going Wrong" from Chickenfoot is fantastic. Chickenfoot was a super group with Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony (Van Halen), and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers).
The drummer Jeff Campitelli is just fantastic
I’ve had the absolute pleasure of sitting next to him on a drum kit many times asking drumming questions and being shown how to do it
He’s one of the nicest guys I’ve had the pleasure to meet
That guitarist Joe is fairly decent too. Haha!
Joe & Jeff started playing together before they were barely in their 20’s
**check out “Satch Boogie “ from the same show.
Joe did “SILENT NIGHT “ on a Christmas album years ago that was awesome
Satch Boogie would have been a much better first time
Joe was Steve Vai's guitar instructor early in his studies, both are amazing of course! Shout out to the kickin' rhythm section too, solid :-)
One of the greatest ever to do it
Miód na uszy pozdrawiam świadomych ludzi
funny how I’ve just found your channel recently and starting listening to Joe again.
More Satch!!! I highly recommend Echo from the Time Machine live album, for a 1988 San Diego show. The last four tracks on the album are one continuous recording from the show, incredible. Circles, drum solo, Lords of Karma, and Echo. I also like The Forgotten part 2.
Tender Surrender the live version by Steve Vai is a must.
Monster player 🎸
Not only was he an influence to Steve Vai and Kirk Hammett of Metallica, he was also their guitar teacher.
Hey guys, now you are talking my language. I am a guitar player also and Joe is my overall favorite. I am a gen x and grew up on all the classics for us, but when I discovered Joe (not too long after I started playing guitar at 17, btw), it was like 'Game On!. Here is someone pushing the bounds of playing and expressiveness on guitar, who also understood the industry, and taught quite a few other well known guitar players. You guy should really check out his bio on all that he has done. He has taught more guitarists you mentioned, and played with some pretty iconic people... Deep Purple for s short stint, and Mick Jagger in the late 80s just to name few.
This is a good song, but not the one I would've chosen to be you introduction to Joe. I would've chosen 'Satch Boogie', which was the first song of his I ever heard... or Surfing with the Alien, The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing (live) [Which I think you should do next], Summer Song.... there are so many good ones.
I was fortunate enough to meet him back in '08 during a backstage experience when he played in my area. He was super nice and down to earth, not afraid to answer the questions I had, even thought they were more of the guitar business geek side of things.
If you get a chance to see him live, you should do it at least once. He will be going out with Sammy Hagar in the Best Of All Worlds Van Halen tribute tour, which is starting in about a month, I think. That tour will also include Michael Anthony and Jason Bonham. They are going to be doing a long of songs outside of VH too.
I love it when people say he has ''no feel', usually because they only hear one or 2 of his songs and make judgments based on that. If shows that they don't know Satch's catalog, or understand what playing the guitar is actually about. That type of things has always annoyed me in tat comparing how one guitarist plays to another and saying he 'lacks x' in his playing. Maybe they should actually listen to his entire catalog, and not just his solos stuff,... as well as, look up what the vast majority of other players say about him.
BTW, I can also suggest other fantastic guitarists that I know you'd like, but are not as known to people, if you want/
For Satch, for his next song, I would say check out one of these.... 'Surfing with the Alein (live)', 'The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing (live), 'Summer Song' (official video) [this was used in a commercial in the early 90s btw), 'Crushing Day' (live) from the Prodessor Satchafunkilus Bonus video.
Cheers
Satch is responsible, directly or indirectly, for (at least) 4 of the the top 5 rock/metal instrumentals of all time. He wrote 2 of them ("Always With Me, Always With You" & "Rubina") and his former student, Alex Skolnick, wrote 2 others ("Musical Death (A Dirge)" and "Hypnosis" off Testament's A New Order album). The man is an icon. His first 2 albums displayed his intuitive genius more than anything that came later.
Joe was Kirk Hammetts and Steve Vai's guitar teacher back in the day
Great song & great reaction video. Thanks for doing this song. 😀
You definitely should check out Neverland (live '09) by Marillion 🙏🏻👊🏼
It's a love song you'll love it for sure ❣️
His voice is outstanding and that 🎸 goes straight to your ❤...
Stevie Vai doing Tender Surrender live!!!!!
FYI: Joe Satriani was the guitar teacher for Kirk Hammett of Metallica and Steve Vai of David Lee Roth and others!!!
Please notice : Joe Satriani - Summer Song
Welcome to the rabbit hole of one of the worlds best guitarist of our time!
This is just a taste of what he can do.
Awesome now check out Joe Bonamassa - "Just Got Paid" - Tour de Force: Royal Albert Hall
Good one🤟
You should check out NITA STRAUSS - Pandemonium song who is also the guitarist for alice cooper
Please reactes to Joe's tracks Always with me, always with you and Satch boogie
Check out his song Big Bad Moon. Satriani singing.
Ever since I 1st heard Hank B Marvin (Shadows), I’ve been hooked on the electric guitar. There has been so many amazing guitarists over the decades and Joe is right up there with the best of them. ❤️🤘🎸🎻🦘
Please notice : Joe Satriani - Nineteen Eighty
You've discovered one more guitar great on your list which has included - SRV, EVH, Steve Vai, Buckethead, Richie Blackmore, Terry Kath, Jimi Hendrix, Yngwie Malmsteen, Jeff Beck, David Gilmour, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Dimebag Darrell. Still more to go. Will you get to Tony MacAlpine or Jason Becker or Randy Rhoads or Alex Skolnick?. We will see if you get to them.
Think they’ve also heard Tony Iommi, The Edge, Slash, Alex Lifeson, Brian May, Joe Walsh, Lindsey Buckingham, Don Felder, Mark Knopfler ..,, maybe Johnny Winter.
Don’t know if they’ve seen Joe Bonamassa yet, but they need to. And Frank Marino…what an underappreciated guitarist he was. Some of the best players now are in metal, like Adam Jones or Nuno which is not this channel’s vibe
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😘😘
Would like to see reaction to Danzig - Mother 93 Live Thanks!
big bad moon, his best, there's a studio video showing him sing which is rare, and before he shaved his head, plays harmonica too on that one
Listen to The Crush of Love by Satriani if you want unbridled emotion in an instrumental piece
Joe is a musicians’ musician.
Check out Joe in the super Group Chicken Foot. I suggest "Highway Star". Not for virgin ears, but not too bad.
No folks Jeff Healey played wirth his FEET
good song but I still find "Surfing with an alien" to be one of his best.
Check out some BLACKTOP MOJO. You will love it!!
dave larue one of the best bass players on the planet
" Surfing' With The Alien"
ruclips.net/video/d_0khAAItqg/видео.html
Not the best introduction to Joe but good track still the same. So many other far superior tracks to consider.
check SEVI - world that doesn't fit
Guess I'm in the minority. I actually enjoy instrumentals more than songs with lyrics.😆
How Dare you pause in the guitar solo!!! Oh wait...
uhhhhh good....... not great............ Maybe check out NEIL PEART Buddy Rich HONOR????? Surprises awaits!! :) ♥AND, or... Victor Wooten bass music????????? :) “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” ~ Romans 15:13
Technically he is good but seems to lack the soul of greater guitarists such as Gilmour, Page and Alex Lifeson. Gratuitous Canadian plug.
I think Alex and David are overrated. Subjective though. No disrespect intended.
Plays lots of notes, not really sure why.
