One of the most underrated and underappreciated bands in history. Les is a genius and to still be rocking this hard at 60 years old is fucking incredible.
"We don't stop playing because we get old; we get old because we stop playing." - George Bernard Shaw. I'm not generally a fan of trotting out sayings by other people but fuck me, did he nail it with that one.
They are highly rated and greatly appreciated. Les Claypool has been consistently rated as one of the best bass players of all time and they have had millions of loyal fans for decades. This isn’t some unknown or undiscovered band. They started and have remained humble, but they’ve not gone unnoticed.
Larry LaLonde is a genius guitar player. The way he plays gives so much space for Les to incorporate all those Cara y bass lines. Reminds me of Alex Lifeson in Rush.
I've only seen Primus once in Concert and it was back in the early to mid 90s some time when they opened for Van Halen (Sammy Hagar era) at Nassau Coliseum on Long Island. But they played all my favorites for the hour they were on stage. It was awesome! Sgt.Baker.
@@FriedEggsandJellyfish It’s his relatively newer Pachyderm bass he received from Dan Maloney. You can search up his Carl Thompson collection and it this one is not in it.

Primus is anything but underrated
This song currently has 74 million plays on Spotify. Most definitely not underrated lol

He never seems to acknowledge his work in Possessed. They were one of the first bands to start the death metal genre .
did you ever hear about Paul Leary kid?!?!

I’ll be seeing them for the 3rd time in August. 4th time seeing Les live. It always fuckin amazing
Nice I live around the block from the coliseum. I saw them in college up at SUNY Albany in 1995. Best $20 I best spent.

Was that Jason mamoa with the hose?
Is Les not using the rainbow bass anymore?
The entire Carl Thompson fleet has been retired. He plays Pachyderm basses exclusively now.
@@suddenlyawetrat2587 Wrong, he's clearly playing a Carl Thomphson here, although he did say he retired the lineup...
@@FriedEggsandJellyfishI’m looking at it, and that ain’t no Carl Thompson bass

I think that Les plays 'Standard' 4 string, only one that hasn't retired.
You didnt get the bananas!!
Very niche reference, I was waiting to see the bananas too. I was in with the bananas and it was not for the weak
