    THE BEY AND BMS NEVER JUMPED OFF. AND MAGAZINES WERE A WAY BACK THEN FOR ME TO KNOW WHEN SOMETHING LIKE THAT WAS DROPPING. AND I USED TO SEE THAT DOUBLE 12" IN USED RECORD SPOTS, EVERY NOW AND THEN. NOW IN 2024, U DON'T EVEN SEE IT NOW. I CAUGHT A LOT OF THAT "JUX" STUFF WHEN IT DROPPED, SO I'M BLESSED TO STILL OWN IT ON WAX.

    THAT WAS A VERY PROMISING SINGLE. I THOUGHT VERY MUCH JUS WAS A PART OF THE DEAL, BUT HE WASN'T. IT SUCKED TO HEAR IT WITHOUT HIM ON THE TRACKS.

    That second beat when it changes up on DPA was always my favorite part. I almost thought I lost my copy but I found it. Dope info thanks.

    That single was epic. I remember hearing it back then and getting the songs on a CD-R from a friend. Played it until it fell apart. This and The Cold Vein changed my sound forever. Luckily found the 12" cheapish at a second hand store a few years back too.

    Laughing at El’s Irish accent when he says he did a show in Ireland on Simple because it sounds so accidental lol

    Like I tell fans today, I was a fan before they had fans. I mean none. I first heard juvenile techniques on Stretch n bob's show. Then shortly after came 8 steps and info kill.
    As far as im concerned there was no coflow without jus.
    Also, the so-called Nerd rap is so off to me. When co flow entered the sound waves hip hop artists and fans were wrapping their heads around this unorthodox style, the instruments they sampled were not the common simple bass/piano/horn loops, these guys were going at this with a completely different approach. An uncommon approach. In 1996 you had the co flow funcrusher ep and Dr. Octagon's Octagonecologyst. I firmly believe those 2 albums changed the direction of underground and eventually mainstream hip hop into the 2000's.. Today's hip hop is something much different.

    Co. Flow was never nerd rap it's just simpletons with the tendency to label everything, these guys where just smarter and doper than the average MC and producer.

      The intro beat is Nasa's remix of a song by senz beats and cappo. Can be heard here:.

      I remember it being cut for time since its a long song for the vinyl. Maybe that version is the one used on the CD? - Nasa.

    Did CoFlo ever do any live dates in the UK?

    • @iyaramonk
      @iyaramonk 8 месяцев назад

      I might be misremembering but I think they decided to break up while on tour in Europe. There's no way they didn't stop over in the U.K.

    • @UncommonRecordsnyc
      @UncommonRecordsnyc  8 месяцев назад

      @@iyaramonk I don't know the exact answer to this, but I can say I remember Jus splitting from the group in the U.S. just prior to me working with them. This single was El and Len as CoFlow, "Simple" does indeed recount a story about someone trying to steal Len's watch in Dublin (buried in the background of the conversation in that interlude on it). So they had definitely been to Dublin at one point, so I can only assume they hit the U.K. too. - Nasa

      there's a video of them doing "End To End Burners" on a UK TV show that's here on youtube, so they probably did a show or two while in the country filming the tv appearance.
