- Hi everyone! This is my first ever youtube video, and it may be my last. This year I decided that I wanted to self study for AP Chemistry because not taking it my sophomore year was my biggest regret of high school. Due to my schedule, I ended up self-studying in two weeks, which surprisingly was not the worst decision I ever had. Bro I got a 5 on AP Chem and ngl it's my biggest flex. My teacher was like "you'll thank me later for all the timed practice FRQs" and I was like "yeah right" but they were super similar to the ones on the test and they really help. Hell at the time but they paid off. Good luck everyone!

Girl deadass thank you so much for this. I'm in an IB school with no AP classes and I left my IB course because I didn't feel it was worth the emotional strain it gave me. I'm a junior rn and so scared to self study for my APs since I plan to take three (one being chemistry with the rest being stem related) but this really helped to calm me down. I've already been using Khan Academy for the basics, but you gave some new resources too that I'm def going to be using. Thank you for linking your personal notes too they're extremely helpful !! ❤

I ended up dropping out of IB and ditching my AP plan lmao but now I'm a freshman at a uni that ranks in the top 50s globally. Remember to focus on your goals and specialize for your future major above anything else🙏 This mindset is what got me through it

Last year I took AP chemistry online, through a website, and failed the exam. This would not have been a problem except for the fact that my ideal college program requires a passing AP exam in several courses, including chemistry. I have been self studying this year to retake the exam and am much more confident in my knowledge this time around, but finding this video 5 days before the exam is still a godsend.

Welp 5 days before exam and i didnt study or pay attention to my teacher. my teacher didnt teach. we just watched videos of teachers teaching and then we had rest of the day to work on homework. Idek y i bought an ap chem prep book in the beginning of the year because i didnt even use it once

as someone who has dr. leggett for their ap chem teacher, i can agree, she is the best teacher in the world. (she has a youtube channel going over class notes! highly recommend)

Hi Peyton! Did you use a textbook while studying for APChem?
I’m obviously not Peyton but personally, as I’m cramming for Monday, a textbook is not the way to go. My AP Chem textbook is super confusing. My advice: dumb everything down. Pretend to teach the concepts as if you taught a 4 year old.
