Guys, this is just a warning. This dude took it in the 2020 year, where a lot of students didn't even cover the 2 most difficult topics (in my opinion) of infinite series and polar/parametric/vector equations. Just let that sink in because in BC, those are probably the hardest topics that play a pretty strong role in the exam. Just be sure to account for those 2 units (which in my opinion are really difficult compared to rest of the class) so the way his preparation went would be definitely far more different from what an in-person exam would be like for most people. We not only have more questions, but also more difficult and more complex equations in both the MCQ and FRQ. Just let that be known please and don't think you can self study a literal calculus II class in 5 days time, it doesn't just work like that.
I have nine days left until the Calc BC exam. Before this video, I had the mindset of flunking my last exam in high school. After this video, I realized that I still have the potential to score well- using your techniques, I'm going to try my hardest in the next few days. Thanks Sigil:D

Super helpful. Here's the check list Some key takeaways from the video for the audience: 1. Create a distraction-free environment. 2. Input is not always equal to Output 3. Have the right effort and approach. 4. Deliberate Note-taking and Practice. (Don't take notes on everything you learn, just take on what you are unfamiliar and that will go on and finally you reduce the notes you write. The same thing with practice, focus on your weakness) 5. Invest in Performance (To work well, you need to be well. Invest in quality sleep, nutritional food, hydration, and exercise) 6. By making it easy to perform a task, you will do it more.

Very well done analysis on the psychology of learning. The method you mentioned when you went over your notes the second time is spaced repetition, one of the most efficient ways for the brain to memorize unfamiliar material
You caught me I’m a deliberate note taker. I literally copied word for word from my ap biology textbook let’s just say I only got through 10 pages in a week
Thanks for creating this video, I got a five in calculus bc by using some of your methods combined with my own. Yes, within a week. What you taught me and many of us were not just about getting that score for college application or maybe just showing off to teachers and friends, but also the concept that "nothing is impossible as long as one is determined". You made me realize, in fact during my most frustrating time as a teenager, the power of faith/will. I leave a comment here to let you know that your content helped a lost soul to find his purpose and hope.

Okay nice you were actually using the same method I used to cram for AP World and AP Psych to get a 5. That “deliberate note taking”: focusing on weaknesses is really powerful.
Just wanted to say thank you for this! My test is in roughly 3 weeks so I have more than 5 days, but I have 3 other AP tests to study for so I've been really stressed (and obviously procrastinating hasn't helped). This video really got me pumped to study and do well on my exam, hopefully it goes well!
Your insights on how to approach studying for Calculus are really helpful and while I certainly won't cram it into my Brain all in 5 days I will do by best to study under them! Thx!
this is the first study tips video that actually taught me useful tips and skills and not simply just “take pretty notes because if they’re pretty you’ll want to read them ✨🥰” so thanks king 😩
I did a similar thing with algebra 2/trig, but I wasn’t healthy about it. Although I got reasonable sleep, I wasn’t spending time with family or friends, exercising, eating well, or doing much of anything else. That’s how I spent my winter break, and although I was also able to learn calculus in a similar way and take multivariable calculus the following school year, I sometimes wish I had more healthy learning habits. But I truly believe that you don’t have to be naturally gifted to learn things independently. Setting up a good plan and “studying smart” is the key, and creating a balance between learning and being social/relaxing is just as important (so you don’t get burnt out).

Yooooooooo, I'm happy I'm here before this channel blows up ;). @@SigilWen I can't thank you enough hahaaha im studying computer engineering and i pretty much used this technique on every class this semester. Like really BRAVO !!
Not sure if it’s just my school, but BC is soooo much harder. I’m not even saying AB is easy but no class has caused me as much emotional anguish as BC calc. Our teacher forced us to rush through the material so much we finished the entire class in the first two marking periods and have been doing nothing but review tests since. These tests aren’t too bad, but when we were learning new things it was HELL. 2nd marking period of this year was the first time I got a C in any of my classes in high school and I’m a senior. What also sucks is we’re technically only supposed to have class 3/5 days in the schedule, but our teacher went over new material even on blended days, and if you had another class those days you just had to rewatch the recorded class for notes but you couldn’t ask questions or anything. I just hope I can get at least a 3 or 4 on the AP test so I don’t have to take this class again in college.
@@sophbird8215 I never took AP calc in high school but I know that AB is the equivalent of taking calc 1 with the integration unit from calc 2, and BC is the equivalent of calc 1 and all of calc 2, so BC is definitely supposed to be harder since you’re learning almost twice the amount of information at a faster pace than AB. Either way if you took calc AB or calc BC in high school then I have a lot of respect for you because high school me could never 😭
@@johnpaulino3300 actually both are equally difficult.75% of BC is from Ab and the rest 25% are new topics. (Parametric, polar, series) so in some sense there is no point taking ab if you are planning to do it in the future
Incredible video, I will be applying this to the reading and writing portion of the sat since I’ll most likely get a 700 or above with ease on the math portion.
Thanks for your video, the concepts you brought up are actually very interesting. One concern that I have with taking notes is that I am worried that I will forget the concepts that are familiar to me, but that obviously leads me to a deep hole of inefficiently taking notes. When you take notes on just the unfamiliar concepts, have you ever experienced situations where the topics that you thought you understood/ were familiar with, ended up being confusing or forgotten? I hope I made sense there hbhahaah. Great video!
Yeah I get your concern. That's why you always include a tiny bit of review for familiar concepts as well ---> this should be fast if you are familiar. Then practicing questions to test your knowledge also shows your weakpoints! Good luck :P
i was wondering if you had any advice on getting better at recognizing question types and then applying the right solution? that always seemed to be the biggest issue for me, would be super helpful if you could elaborate on that!
Hi! Thank you for the informative video!! Could you elaborate on the second round of deliberate notes taking. What exactly were you taking additional notes of?
Your drive is admirable. As a creative with ADHDTISM it is incredibly hard for me to stay organized in this way, but I will at the very least try sleeping well and using the study hacks. The only exams I have left at this point are APUSH and APCSP so I'll use these methods and tell you how I did! Hoping for all 4's and 5's ^-^
10:53 this feeling is so awesome! the feeling of fully understanding a semi hard topic, and it instantly comes easier (for me atleast) and you get a good understanding of the topic in your head.
Great video! I would suggest that one do note-taking first before building intuition. It's more powerful if one has some prior knowledge before looking at the layman's interpretation.
I watched this when I was taking ab and studied really hard... and got a 3. Lol. Then I took bc and really found out what studying method worked for me. I got a 5!
Can confirm all this information is gold. This is roughly the routine i developed eventually in college and it would have helped to have known it sooner!
i like you. you remind me of myself. spending hours beating around the bush to find the way to do something super effectively without the standard years worth of pain. but rather, the extremely painful short couple of weeks. the bonus is getting to pick up a lot of XP in different areas of life that needs focus also.

I found this video very useful as I plan to sort of go try-hard mode this year (challenging calc BC, enrolling only in college courses + APs, etc.). This channel lowkey reminds me of Ali Abdaal (a Cambridge medicine graduate who creates videos focused on productivity & efficiency), mainly because of the fact you both use notion but also because I think this channel will grow big pretty soon 🙏🙏🙏
YOOO THANKS FOR THE COMMENT. It's motivating seeing this and I think I'm gonna make a new vid asap. GL on the grind. Don't be afraid to comment anything u want me to cover as well ;) TY!
you just made my day beter. Much love and appreciation dude
This made my day
@@SigilWen I can't thank you enough hahaaha im studying computer engineering and i pretty much used this technique on every class this semester. Like really BRAVO !!
Congrats on the 5!!!! I loved your post on oneskillaweek.com!!
Thanks for the support Liz! 4 new posts are coming out this week ;)
Ap cal ab is soooo hard rn. Our teacher goes super fast and squishes all the lessons he can in the zoom class. Its soo frustrating!
I’m in the EXACT SAME BOAT 😆 guess that’s how we ended up here
Not sure if it’s just my school, but BC is soooo much harder.
@@sophbird8215 how did you do on it
Incredible video, I will be applying this to the reading and writing portion of the sat since I’ll most likely get a 700 or above with ease on the math portion.
FIRE
the sheer dedication that this video took has earned you a subscriber
LFG :D
Thank you for your insightful view on how to study effectively and efficiently :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
yo this is great, but maybe i should have watched this 4 days ago, instead of a day before ap exams
Best of luck!!
did it go well?
@@wow1574 lmfao I got a 5
@@pranavr9536 ayyy
Man thank you for this!
hope it helps :D
Hi! Thank you for the informative video!! Could you elaborate on the second round of deliberate notes taking. What exactly were you taking additional notes of?
bro you are insane. i am about to take seven ap exams (including bc) and have barely prepared, but this video gives me hope.
u got this :D it's time to grind 😼
I swear to god I know this music from somewhere. Thanks for this! I was trying to figure out a way to study for the upcoming bc exam.
I didn't even know I was taking it until today.... I graduated in January and the test is in two days.
how did you graduate early?
Phenomenal man thank you for the methods now its up to me to scale my devotion😅
THIS IS SO USEFUL TYSM! learning BC in freshmen yr without teacher's assistant makes me crazy :(( this is legit life-saving vid !!!!!!
: ) yay
lmao as soon as i saw ur intro i instantly subbed, ur awesome dude
thanks g, this really helps!
yk g
10:53 this feeling is so awesome! the feeling of fully understanding a semi hard topic, and it instantly comes easier (for me atleast) and you get a good understanding of the topic in your head.
Why hasn’t this blown up . . . anyways awesome video dude. Also the ducks 😩
Thanks haha :D it's slowly growing... I think when ap season comes it will more :D
Great video! I would suggest that one do note-taking first before building intuition. It's more powerful if one has some prior knowledge before looking at the layman's interpretation.
Watched this for Calc AB and rewatching this for Calc BC 💪
I have 32 hours what do
How was it i have it in 17 days
@@zyxmsw Yoo bro me too, what score do you think you'll receive?
@@skeletor943 i seriously cant get 5 rn….

@@zyxmsw i got a 1, then I took it in college and failed as well
You're amazing!
I'm just gonna say, Thank you! ❤️
Great video and very useful info. I am going to teach my son both AP Cal BC and Physics C. Not 5 days, but two years on both. He is an average kid.
Love the fookin intro man!!!!!!
Yup! Totally necessary :)
I watched this when I was taking ab and studied really hard... and got a 3. Lol. Then I took bc and really found out what studying method worked for me. I got a 5!
That's awesome to hear! CONGRATSSSSS
Can confirm all this information is gold. This is roughly the routine i developed eventually in college and it would have helped to have known it sooner!
🔥😼💪 🤩 thanks king
Here again cause im taking the calc BC test in 3 days :) i aint ready byeee
i like you. you remind me of myself. spending hours beating around the bush to find the way to do something super effectively without the standard years worth of pain. but rather, the extremely painful short couple of weeks.
the bonus is getting to pick up a lot of XP in different areas of life that needs focus also.
You haven’t ever took AP classes and studied for 5 days only and GOT A 5 😱? Man U r inspiration I was worried about self studying for ap but I got the motivation from ya 🥳🤩
Thank you! Good luck with self studying :') Hopefully this helped
You're a life saver!
damn with this content i thought you had atleast 1 mil subs keep it up yo thanks for the tips
just gotta wait a bit :) TY
Maybe I'm the type C coz I'm still a middle schooler and don't know anything about calculus nor have calculus exam. Infact I don't even know why I came here, but nice video mate, helps me learn bout studing in general and not necessarily just on how to learn calculus in a short time. Keep going!👍
