    I recently bought a pencil set like this one and I love having it. I already have a couple of those clamps, got a deal on them a year or so back from Kreg. Dipped the ends in plasti-dip now don't worry about scraping whatever I put them on.

    I know not everyone has a Menards by them, but for those that do like me the masterforce bar clamps have a 4 and 3/4-in throat depth (I routinely get 5 in) The bars are super thick stainless steel thousand pound capacity, and the 36 in is only $15 a piece. They also have 12 and 24-in for less than that. I own all three models and love them

    Looks to me like your next project needs to be a drill press table. Tracks incorporated into the fence and base are very useful for clamps and stop blocks.
    Good to see the price for push block sets are finally coming down. Sets like that used to be $40 +. Hopefully, more people will start using them.
    I like the Lunar Block. But yeah, sanding is always gonna suck.
    The pencil set looks to be a good deal if one doesn't mind a fat lead, and I really like the awI/scriber. Honestly, I prefer to keep my lines crisp without having to sharpen the tip after every 3rd one. I love the GraphGear 1000 pencils too much to give them up.

    The throat clamps are clamps welders use. This keeps the clamps away from the welds.
    The screw clamps 🗜️ as you call them, I have always known them to be Jorgensen clamps. If I wrong please let me know.

    • @FlynndoggWoodwork
      @FlynndoggWoodwork  9 месяцев назад

      Thanks so much for sharing john! I think Jorgensen might have developed the clamps. Jorgensen is a brand name of clamps I know. The throat clamps are also used a lot with pocket hole joinery as well. I've got a smaller set from Kreg that I use quite frequently. Thanks so much for watching!

  • @Damon_Barber

    I believe the “boot” is a push shoe. Push sticks, push blocks and push shoes. First time I heard “push shoe” was an Izzy Swan video a few weeks ago.
    I would not recommend the plastic ones, though. If the blade hits them they can shatter and send plastic shrapnel everywhere.

    • @ST-0311
      @ST-0311 9 месяцев назад

      The shattering plastic push sticks is grossly exaggerated. However, when one needs to direct traffic to expensive foam tipped ones via an affiliate link sometimes a bit of exaggeration is necessary.
      I agree that these particular shoes shouldn't be used. Not because they're plastic. These are only about 3/8 to 7/16 thick, so they are not stable laterally. They easily tip form side to side, and tipping towards a spinning blade would be disastrous.

    • @Damon_Barber
      @Damon_Barber 9 месяцев назад

      @@ST-0311 not sure how you can exaggerate a push stick literally exploding on camera when it comes into contact with a table saw blade. 🤷‍♂️ Not a chance I’m comfortable taking when there are perfectly safe alternatives that work much better. And the scrap wood ones are free. 🥳

    • @FlynndoggWoodwork
      @FlynndoggWoodwork  9 месяцев назад +1

      Push shoe! Someone else mentioned that as well. My favorite design by far. I think 731 had an accident with a plastic push stick a while back. From my experience, the blade just cuts right through it, but I definitely bet you could get kick back and have it shatter if it comes in at an angle or pressure is put on it. Great point and thanks for watching Damon!

    • @FlynndoggWoodwork
      @FlynndoggWoodwork  9 месяцев назад +1

      I like the old fashion wooden ones quite a bit. I've got two right now. I should make a video on how to create a bunch of these designs, that would do pretty well I bet! Thanks for watching ST-0311!

    • @ST-0311
      @ST-0311 9 месяцев назад

      @@Damon_BarberYeah. The same camera that recorded that forced "explosion" also recorded the recommendation that included chicken foot push sticks not be used at all, because they don't provide enough downward support. A recommendation I agree with wholeheartedly.
      What did he say? "Push forward, down, and toward the fence all at the same time."
      Exactly right.
      A foam chicken foot doesn't contribute any more vertical or lateral pressure than the one that comes with a Ryobi job site saw.
      That camera also recorded recommendations for the PLASTIC MicroJig Grr-Ripper, and the PLASTIC Grr-Rip Blocks with the PLASTIC drop down tabs on several occasions.
      Both are excellent plastic devices.
      Before Bow all included or after market push sticks, blocks, and shoes were plastic. Everyone used them. No one was complaining. There were few if any reports of exploding plastic injuries.
      Now they're "dangerous."
      Content creation is a business.

Some things are beyond us and our control. Now it’s times to work on YOU & make yourself happy. I’d you’re on YT, checking out a woodworking video, seems like you’re a woodworker. Work on your game, be creative, keep your mind occupied. Build something that satisfies you and begin your journey if you haven’t. If you have, continue to make it grow and make it better.
