- Qatar Airways Business Class has been described to me as being so good, you don’t need First Class. In fact, it’s been one of the most requested videos by subscribers to this channel.
In this video, we’ll highlight all it has to offer on a 12+ hour flight from Dulles to Doha. From the lounge in Washington, DC to the Qatar Airways Business Class Qsuite seat itself, the Qatar Airways Business Class food, the Oryx One Inflight Entertainment, and the Qatar Airways Business Class Service, you’ll see it all!
This flight is the first episode of our #NewlywedWorldTour! We’re two tremendous aviation enthusiasts, and, in order to celebrate our honeymoon, we strung together several ultimate aviation experiences into one African adventure that took us from the United States to Kenya, the Seychelles, and Egypt.
This Qatar Airways Business Class flight onboard the A350-1000 will go down in our “logbooks” as one of our favorite flights. And there are a lot of reasons for it, so I hope you’ll enjoy the video from beginning to end!
And be sure to let us know what you think in the comments below. We read every one!

regonial: 1-2 hrs
short haul: 2-3.5 hrs
Medium haul: 3.5-6 hrs
long haul: 6-13 hrs
Ultra long haul: 13-19 hrs
Ultra long haul is i think 15+ hours
@@ElectricGalaxy agreed that is the only edit i would make
But it has to be that time between the city pairs both ways.
regional? Only if you live in a HUGE country
Agreed. Anything over 12-13 hours is ultra-long. LAX-SYD is a doozy if you're not ready for it.
Sensational video mate, good to see you finally made it onto a Qatar flight. Re long haul 12-13 hours is just a standard hop for us Aussies. It doesn't become ultra long haul until it's 14 hours plus.
Totally agree with that Dennis. SYD-DFW at 14 hrs was at my limit but I struggled with DFW-SYD at 16 hrs, lucky I only had carry on because a lot of people had checked luggage left at DFW
Thanks, Dennis. No doubt Australians have a whole different perspective on long haul flying!
@@GreenerGrass Congrats and thanks for finally flying my favourite airline (Behind British airways) haha I am British
@@GreenerGrass how was Qatar?
@@GreenerGrass I miss the States soo much. I haven't been to the States since March of 2020.
I flew on the Qsuite from Houston to Doha in November when I went to the Maldives and I loved every second of it. They held the plane for almost 15 minutes in Houston for me because my flight from Orlando to Houston with United was 4 hours late. The flight attendants were beyond friendly and hospitable. We asked for extra Castello Monte Vibiano face spray that came with the amenities kit and the crew gave us multiple bottles lol. My friend and I clearly didn't belong in business class but the flight crew had so much fun with us. They treated everyone like royalty. Qatar Airways is amazing.
I was an aircraft mechanic in the USAF. During Desert Storm I spent 13 plus hours on a C141B cargo aircraft. Now that was a loooong flight. No in-flight entertainment. And stale box lunches. Thats why I enjoy your videos. Thank you.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 who has been waiting for this video for like 3 years? I’m so excited for this whole SAGA!
I love how Jeb keeps it honest with service reviews, 50 business class seats is a stretch for perfect service and he acknowledges that fact.
Well done Jeb!
I flew IAD-DOH-JNB in July in business class and it was spectacular. From the moment I stepped on the plane, I was treated like a king. The flight attendants greated me by name and thanked me for flying with them. The most memorable part was stepping off the plane and the real feel temperature was 112°. DOH is a stunning airport and the lounges were just as great.
Jef, congratulations to the couple.
To whoever enjoys geography, Google Maps and etc.
8:11 City of Arish and El Resa Beach.
8:48 City of Eliat, Israel and the right side, part of Aqaba, Jordan.
9:07 King Fahad Industrial Center and the city of Jubail - Saudi Arabia.
10:09 Al Daayen, Qatar
10:24 The Pearl Qatar
Jef, you almost killed me 😂 😂 😂. You show the airplane “heading” to Nairobi and show after, these images.
I got crazy, as I travel a lot and love to watch a map.
I realized later, you use the images from tyour first leg (USA to Doha) to speak over and explain how was service.
It took me, more than a hour to run the Google Maps. Of course, I ran the whole Somalia, Yemen, Oman, Eritrea and etc.
Keep the good work.

As someone who has flown only 5 times, and only once in the last 13 years, idk how people can afford to fly this much especially business class where the “lounge” is part of the score. Just another world I guess. Great videos
My definitions:
Regional: 1-2hrs
Short Haul: 2.5-4hrs
Medium Haul: 4.5-7.5hrs
Long Haul: 8-13hrs
Ultra Long Haul: 13.5hrs +
When you do frequent EU to AU trips 12hrs is a breeze
I think Suzanne should end a video one day with "See you with this guy.". Congrats!
My longest flight was 15 hours non-stop.
Durations for me:
Short: 1-2 hours.
Medium: 3-7 hours.
Long: 8-12 hours.
Ultra long haul: 12+hours
Congratulations Suzanne and Jeb, your channel made me an aviation enthusiast and I am about to finish my 3 months long trip flying thousands of miles , I wish you two the best
Flew from Doha to Los Angeles on Qatar. Flight time 16 hrs. 15 mins. The polar route, flying over the North Pole. Flew in QSuite. Quite an experience. Will never forget. Great service, delicious food.
Congrats again on your wedding! For me an ULH is > 14 hours. I envy flights on the A350s. The best part about QR’s business class: they are not always as expensive as the competition.
Thanks, you two, for allowing us to travel vicariously with you... and share in the newlywed glow!
I have flown 2 ultra long haul flights one with Qatar, this was 4 years ago. Flying on the a350 in economy class was still fun.
Jeb, so glad you found your soulmate. Thanks again for sharing your experiences with us. I’m still amazed at your trip coverage to the 49th( my home state), safe travels to you both!! BTW, A long-haul flight for me would be +12, USAF provided a 17+ hour flight s few years back, which is to date my longest, I can only imagine that flight in "Qatar Business" class😃
congratulations to you both on the life commitment.
As an Aussie, just about everywhere offshore is long haul, and however long it takes is just that. You get used to it, but need to have the right mental state and take things as they happen.
Have done many long haul flights. Most common would be MEL-LAX with the connection to JFK pushing 24 hrs (I include getting through US immigration as part of "long haul" )
Melbourne to Europe (LHR, CDG, FRA, HEL, ZRH, VIE) is typically 20+ flight hours plus a couple of hours (if you are lucky) in SIN / BKK / HKG / DXB / DOH / AUH along the way.
Longest direct flights were Sydney - Dallas Fort Worth (A380 economy, 17.5 hours) and Perth - London (B787 business, 18 hours) both on Qantas and it was OK.
I taught ESL in South Korea for 2 years and flew from Atlanta to Seoul. That’s a long one, between 13 and 15 hours. But I flew Korean Air and they know how to take care of passengers. And with the awesome IFE the flights were very relaxing.
Same flight for me back when it was on the 747. Korean air on the way and a delta 777 on the return.
Congratulations to the newly weds!
I did the QSuite from Houston to Doha before and it was great! I still use my BRICS pouch from the amenity kit as my travel toiletries bag!
This was truly fantastic and i m 100% honest. In addition you’re really super honest unlike some other reviewers!! I was so impatient to see the qatar airways video. I would say 7-11 hrs for a long haul and 12-19 for ultra
As someone who's flown back and forth between Japan and the Eastern US many times over the years, I've never thought of those trips as "ultra long haul," just normal!
Man I feel you 😂😂
Leaving Sunday in a Q Suite from LAX to DOH, about 16 hours. Ultra long haul. Ultimate destination is Johannesburg. Going on safari! Very excited.
Hi Jeb! Long haul flights are normal for people like me, because I live in Australia!! Last time I went to NY, (Sept’18) it was a 13hr 10 min. to Dubai, then 13h 45 min. 2 JFK, but it was fabulous, as we flew First Class in Emirates, both a B77ER, then an A380, so I was very grateful for that! I haven’t flown Qatar yet, but what I see in your fabulous Vlog, it is definitely something to look forward to!
Great video mate! The wife (who is from Seychelles) is keen to see that part of the trip!
I'm in agreement with you; a ULH flight is about a 12+ hour flight. I love the QSuite product. It really is one of the best.
Great video! Excited for the upcoming videos in this series! Can’t wait till next Saturday again!
I had the pleasure of Qatar Airways a couple of years ago from Edinburgh to Sydney in “normal” class on a Airbus 900…I think. The seats were comfortable with very reasonable leg room. (I’m 6ft 2in tall). The food and service to Doha was excellent with efficient and friendly crew.
The second leg to Sydney was on a A380 in standard class. It was a very full flight. The leg room was quite tight but again the service and entertainment system provided plenty of distractions. The crew were excellent all through the various service times, chatty and friendly and always willing to help. We hope to try Qsuite in the next year or so, but it’s impossible to criticise the crew on any of our flights, they were amazing! Last of all I wish you two a happy time on your travels, ,and perhaps you can Mr Bunnik in Australia sometime. Happy travels.
Congratulations Mr and Mrs Brooks!!!
3 things....first. love the channel as an aviation geek myself. Second, I'd say anything over 10 hours us ultra long haul. I'd put 5-10 hours as 'long haul.' Third..... I'm super excited to be flying Qsuites on the A350-1000 from Dallas to Doha next year. Just bought the ticket with a combination of Avios and just a little cash. Jackpot! Congratulations to you both.
Ultra-Long haul flights are at least 13 hrs and 30 mins. I still remember when I flew from Dubai to Dulles in 2015 before they introduced the A380 to the capital. It took us 14hrs and 56 mins and although long, it was a very interesting flight on the 777-300ER
Jeb, your videos help me relax after a bad day at work. Thank you!
I like that you are able to present all the details of this flight in about 12+ minutes rather than lagging it out to 20+. However sometimes 20min of Jeb Brooks content wouldn’t be too bad
Great video. Long haul QSuite should be on every aviation bucket list. London-Adelaide was fantastic from start to finish. Enjoy !
Hey Jeb! Hope your doing well and great that your back flying more Intercontinental routes! And hopefully you can be back on The Departure Lounge Podcast again at some point as it’s fun and it’s another thing we have in common: We have both been on the departure lounge podcast!
As always, splendid video, Jeb! The credit card/NFC reader facilitates seamless transfer of pre-selected entertainment playlists from one's smartphone (QR's app) to the Qsuite. If you're searching for another ultra-long-haul flight, consider DOH to DFW, which lasts just shy of 17 blissful hours 😆
Another awesome video Jeb!! Can’t wait to see the rest of this series 🤙🏼
Durations for me:
Short: 1-2 hours.
Medium: 3-6 hours.
Long: 7-10 hours.
Ultra long haul: 11+hours.
Hi Jeb and Suzanne first congratulations 🎉🍾🎊 for your marriage.
I loved your Q-Suits review on board of QATAR Airways Airbus A350-1000, it’s really impressive to enjoy such a experience. Looking forward for more.
Cheers
You and Suzanne are so engaging and fun while also giving a terrific flight review.
Or train review! Congrats on the wedding to an ultra cool couple. We do not see many like y’all!
A BIG CONGRATULATIONS YOU TWO, ON THE MARRIAGE! Love This Video On The A350 By Qatar! I've Never Heard Any Complaints About Qatar! Fabulous Aircraft, Fabulous Service! I'll Check Out Your Other Videos On Your Honeymoon Travel! Again...Congratulations! Many Long Years Of Love And Life!😉💖🥂✈
Flew QR from Sea to Doh, 13+ hrs. Was told it required 4 pilots. Anyway, sat in the way back, 30 something row. It was ultra long haul but QR has great service even in economy. Not a huge fan of the 777 out of Sea compared to A350 or even the 787 that I flew to SIN. Glad you enjoyed the Qsuite, wondered what I was missing in row 30 something...turns out only to be 8 hrs of great sleeping.
Cheers and congratulations on your wedding. And thank you for sharing this adventure with us. I can't wait for the next video. I did a flight from Vegas to San Diego, yesterday, and I put together a video of it. Using the Jeb time compression ratio, it came out to 6 seconds long. ;)
"Tired from our wedding weekend..." hahahhaa Jeb, that made me giggle ;)
Congratulations!!! Blessings on your union and Honeymoon. What ab amazing way to celebrate. Thank you for sharing. I think ultra long haul is 12 hours or longer. The longest I've flown is 15 hours and 7 mns from JFK to CAN on a B777-300ER.
Have only joined /subscribed in the last couple of weeks- really enjoyed video and enthusiasm as well as objective and “unbiased” opinion. Re. First class being a smaller cabin, many years ago my wife and I flew Air France first class to Toronto. Only 1 row of First Class on an A340 and we were the only passengers; in my wife’s eyes made even better as a fellow passenger on the connecting flight from Manchester to Paris had apparently “looked down” on my wife only to be on the same onward flight but “only” in Business so had to walk past and beyond the curtain ! Other story was the chief pursar knew I was a gold card member and guessed my wife and I were on an airmiles holiday (he was right !) so we had a younger, less experienced cabin steward serving which was great. My wife doesn’t drink on flights and the steward was desperate to open a bottle of Dom Perignon just me !
Excellent as ever Jeb and Congrats on your recent Wedding. Valid point about being 1 of 50 in Business Class as opposed to 1 of 4/8/12 in 1st Class. But cannot help thinking that has you started your trip in Doha, I can only imagine you would give the Lounge there 5 Stars. So it would then be a 24 out of 25 Trip. Pretty damm impressive!
Best of luck with the rest of your trip and looking forward to your next video's
14.5 hours Doha to DFW back in April 2020 Qatar a350 1000 bus class … smooth flying .. soundless engine …amazing service on board… no cons to say about Qatar airlines..
Just did 4 legs recently - 3 in QSuite - and all on different aircraft...would have been something for you...started on a Dreamliner which was already a very good treat and continued on a 777. My shortest ever 777 flight with only 38min from Doha to Dubai. As this leg was branded as First Class for whatever reason we were entitled to visit the First Class Lounge in Doha sipping 160€ a bottle champagne, very lavish. So far the best lounge I visited. On our flight back we had an A350-1000 back to Doha and an A350-900 to Frankfurt before finally continuing to Vienna, my home town.
First, congratulations! To answer your question, I’ve flown on two ultra long haul, Manila to NY (16 hrs) and Doha with Qatar Qsuites to Sfo (15 hrs). Qsuites was still the best for business.
Congratulations GSO Newlyweds.🎉🍾
Always enjoy your videos! This is another great one.
Congratulations! May you both have many long, happy travels ahead of you!
Congratulations Jeb and Suzanne!! Enjoy your honeymoon trip, I know we will :) Thank you so much for sharing with us. Love it. Love you two. Best of luck in your marriage and next adventure!
Congratulations and hope you enjoy Kenya! I’ve had the same experience with their IFE. You need to favorite/add stuff to your watchlist as you find it because the search function is not great. One thing I took issue with is saying your breakfast was “delayed” when you didn’t call the flight attendant. I don’t expect crew to be roaming up and down the aisle midflight but rather show up quickly when requested. Never had any delays on QR when pressing the call button and requesting something. I mostly fly USA-DOH-NBO RT and have such good service in J, I’ve felt compelled to write letters.
I was very excited for this series to start
Congratulations on getting married! Just flew Qsuite myself from LHR. Fun fact; the wireless card reader is for the Qatar oryx phone app where you can select movies and then use the reader as its NFC enabled, to upload it to the IFE. Couldn’t get it to work when using my iPhone 11!
It felt so right, I am sure having a lovely traveling companion helped. Congratulations.
Congratulations to you both! 🥂🤗
Well I’m about to do 2 fourteen hour flights with Qatar. Now that’s what I call ultra long haul.
Great video!
Congratulations to you both! Safe travels.
I flew ATL to JNB a couple of times, none of which was in first/Delta One, and that was brutal: a little more than 16hrs. That flight taught me about long distance flying however. (Next time Delta One!!!). BTW I do appreciate your lounge reviews, they've helped me to realize that while important at times, many times lounges are not too big a deal, although I do appreciate a nice shower when I land or before I take off.
Dulles is my go-to airport if I'm flying into the US and I'm happy they start flights to Lagos on the 29th this month. I'm in Canada but will be cheering them on from here!!!
You’ve been posting a lot of interesting content lately! Love it! and I like the music you put in ur videos too!
Congrats to both of you 👍🎉
Ultra long haul for me is 16+ hours
Great vid Jeb - Looking forward to the next ones... Ohh, and congratulations on your wedding.
Congrats Jeb!! Great Video as always
Congrats! As always, great video!
Your voice would make such a good story telling voice
Wow! Amazing content! Congrats Mr.&Mrs.Jebb Brooks
Congratulations, and many happy trips in the future. So glad you found the right travel partner for the big voyage.
I’ve been on JFK to Nairobi and Addis to Dulles, both of which are 15 hours+. I would agree that long haul is 10 hours+.
Congratulations 🎊
It's great to see that shiny wedding ring on your hand.
What a wonderful way to start your honeymoon
I was on this flight ✈️ in may this year, the best airline ever .
Hello jeb
Beautiful view you trip
Congratulations for you windding
New life mate
The best
Take care
God bless you
17 hours from IAD to JNB. I took that when I was 21 on my way to South Africa for my study abroad trip.
Second long haul was from ORD to PVG 14 hours!!
Ultra Long Flight for me was Dallas to my home Sydney Australia nearly 17 hours on Qantas A380.Love your videos and Congratulations to you both.
Congratulations from Canada!!
Qatar airways never disappoints, truly a 5 star airline in my opinion. They have such a good business class. Great video Jeb! Cya in the sky :D🛫
Hi Jeb, Garrett here in the beautiful north west of Ireland. Love all your reports. Ultra long haul flights for me is anything continuous of over 12 hours in duration. Slainte, G.
Thank you for a great video - and also for the aerial views of the cities on the ground that are so clear - I wish I knew which cities they were.
Congratulations on your wedding Jeb. Great flight. Good video.
Amazing Video Mr Brooks! I was at Gravelly Point a couple days ago thought I would see you there lol
Wow those seats are amazing! I've only flown international business on TAP, and it was great, but nothing compared to your experience on Qatar!
Congratulations to the Happy Couple, and many, many years of happiness.
I'm a QR frequent flyer. Very much appreciate your review. Have taken that flight, but mainly ORD-DOH, and lots in the region. It is indeed a five-star airline, and a pleasure to fly. I entirely agree about IFE. Have flown QR for eight years now and i cannot find movies, albums, TV shows twice. QR IFE needs a table of contents or -- as you say -- a robust search function.
I have a food allergy, they bend over backwards to accommodate all manner of dietary restrictions, while also serving extraordinarily tasty airline food. And -- they keep my allergy info on file, so they know what i'll be ordering. Very thoughtful.
The cabin people are exceptional. They always make or break an airline. These folks -- men and women, from every point on the compass -- work hard and remain cheerful. I tip my hat.
Finally, a BIG SHOUT OUT to the ORD counter crew. It's a growing station, but they get us on and out like consummate professionals. As the folks who set the tone for a trip -- especially a long trip -- counter people are frequently overlooked. I try to engage them and recognize their role in getting me wherever i need to go. QR's blend pleasantness and efficiency. I wish U.S. carries would learn.
W QR i've gone to Paris, Madrid, London, Kiev, Jeddah, Riyadh, Kuwait City, Amman, Istanbul (old and new), Muscat, Delhi, Mumbai, Hong Kong and of course Dubai. Chicago, Philadelphia and DC in U.S. The uniform high quality throughout the system -- both on ground and in air, is itself a wonder. BIG LESSON for AA, or even UA, should they choose to improve.
Thanks again, and all the best on beginning your lives together.
thank you for sharing. it's a great journey I'm sure. I flew Singapore Airlines from Singapore to Newark two years ago. It was the world's longest flight at the time. It's 17+ hours. I'd say that 14+ hours shall be ultra long. By the way, congrats to both of you.
congratulations to you both!
I flew AKL-DOH over 17h on Y class, which was surprisingly fine.
Congratulations Jeb and Suzanne - many happy adventures together!
I smiled the whole time watching the remembering our flight to MLE in the Q Suites. It was a combo of flights 777/350. I liked the 777 better due to air vents. We upgraded to the F lounge in DOH. Amazing.
Hm, I liked the A350 better because it's quieter, and the windows are larger. And the air is better.
@@mhaydn We had the center dual seats, windows NA for us. Air seemed fine. JFK-DOH 777 had the vents to blow air. DOH-MLE 350. No vents.
That's amazing that you guys handled a 12.5 hour flight & got married. Seeing the clouds from 41,000 feet is really cool. Looking over the dry Land was neat, it sorta looked like what it looks like from outer space.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A JEB VIDEO!! Thank goodness I’m early!!
Congratulations 🎉🍾🥂 on y’alls marriage ❤️
Looking forward to more videos of y’alls adventures ✈️💺🛩🛫
You make flying look easy. I get too terrified!!
Congrats to the newlyweds!
As far as saving your choices on the IFE, you can create a playlist with movies/tv shows to revisit during the flight. The interface takes a few mins to get used to but they do have a quality product, you can even sync your smartphone and use it as a remote instead (depending on the aircraft).
Thanks for making the planet a tiny bit hotter :)
Congratulations Jeb and Suzanne! Thank you for taking us on your honeymoon. I wish you guys a lifetime of happiness together 🥰
Another great video. I recently came across your channel and have been working my way backwards. Congratulations on getting married! And I have to say, you have one hell of a watch collection. As a fellow enthusiast myself, the variety you have is amazing.
