- Our prized 2000 BMW 323it had gotten very sluggish, missing, and surging, and then cutting off in the initial start up. Even after it would warm up traveling it would be very sluggish and the check engine light was always on. After the FIX it is back to getting 30ish in all around driving and 35-36 straight highway driving. I do drive for mileage. I hope this info helps you with your AILING BMW.
6 year old video and its helping me today. Thanks for the info I'll get to checking out that intake boot
I tried this fix but my BMW started shooting flames through the AC vents and all smoke under my seat.. then the throttle got stuck wide open, my brakes failed, causing me to drive into a large UPS truck parked at a gas station and I went through the windshield and broke my neck, 2 ribs and my right arm, then the car exploded, it sprayed burning fuel everywhere and caused the gas station to blow up killing like 5 people...other than that...great car man!!!
Same here
Well you’re a dummy
wow,,,,i had r\the same shit happen to me....weird!!
Final destination 5
Is that all? I did all that AND took out a van full of nuns and orphans.
My 2002 325XI wagon was very sluggish on the low end with no power. 242,000 miles. The culprit was a blocked catalytic converter. The car now performs with great pep. Hats off to my independent mechanic.
Moved air filter last night to so something else.got in the car this morning and thought I needed a new motor.pulled this video up and bam in hooked sensor till I can get new airintake "ripped."thank u so much.and this thing does drive great your right
Same thing happened to mine and it was the same culprit...the intake hose...I wish I found this video before I took it into the shop...cheers
Was expecting something about VANOS seal replacement, congrats! :)
Hi HotRod Paul, Yeah I am glad that is all that it was. I love driving this awesome BMW. Thanks
Thank you i am experiencing same suging issue loss of power like its not getting gas in my 2000 z3
Common problem Ronnie, i have had BMWs for years, new and second hand, currently an x5 DEISAL . Great cars
yep, 6 months ago i bought a 2000 320i, same colour as yours, with 33,000 kilometers on it, yes, thats not a typo. thats about 21,000 miles. when i test drove it, i heard a vacuum whistle and when i took it home it started to cut out on idle. same problem you mentioned. that intake duct was rotted from sitting most of the time. i also had to replace both cam position sensors. car ran perfectly after that. so far I've done almost 10,000 miles. just did the belts, pulleys, tensioners and thermostat. beginning to feel some slight vibration under the car at around 40 mph. maybe guibo or driveshaft center bearing. have you replaced those? the price for the car was 120,000 yen, about 1200 bucks. man, it was a brand new 16 year old car, it even smelled new. here in japan you can find them alllllllll day long with damn near no miles on them, for cheap.
blackpassenger how much the sensors run you?
You rock watched your video started the z3 disconnected the map sensor and the engine smoothed right out found cracked rubber on bottom of hose $60. At local parts store
Sounds Great!
i have a 2000 328i and it's always been sluggish. it never liked to sit in park neither. it would begin to sputter and then stall if kept idle. i guess i'll just have to go broke trying all these things. my next car is a honda for sure.
Checked my intake tube from air cleaner and no cracks😮not sure what it is now
Video is not working for me....What was the FIX? MAF sensor cleaning?
Good job mate
Good for YOU !!!
Thanks
That's not the coolant temp sensor, you need to look into a vent valve with that many miles, you'll pick up more mpg and power
andrew harmon we’re is the vent valve?

curious if you you still have the car and or that chris cure automotive is still around? thanks! having problems with my 323i wagon too.
i fixed my car its the fuel filter was clogged up i spent allot of money and time .. i feel so silly because the filter was 22 bucks ...
where is that fuel filter located? Sometimes my 98 328 creeps away at full throttle and sometimes it is like a bat out of hell.
My 330d gone sluggish even after a stage 1 map. Going to take egr valve off tomo it seams it could be clogged
I have a 2001 325xi sedan that looks just like this. same paint job and everything. not the wagon like yours though. these ones look the best
By chance do you remember if it would pop thru the throttle body? I literally just bought one just like yours and I didn’t even make it 2 blocks and it ran like crap. So I just left it in an Oreilly parking lot...
My 2002 bmw 325i gets likw 14 mpg lol it runs lean on bank 1 and 2 only codes I have if I floor it it delays and sputters at time optimistic could be clooged. Fuel filter or injectors or bad fuel pump!
35mpg? No way.. I have a 2004 330i with 135k I average 22.7... I just had a major tuneup. I'm not saying your lying but maybe something needs calibration in your car
Agent kennedy got a 04 330ci 156k I get around 23 as well driving in town. I always put premium gas in
And his is a smaller engine size. Your 3.0 v6 has lots more power then his 2.3 v6.
Yes, WAY...Thanks, "Hotrod" and #CoupeZilla

How do you get 35mpg??? I own 3 e46's 2.5L An too 2.8L an I'm lucky to get 24mpg an that's driving easy on the interstate. I drive 200 miles a day for work an the best I've ever got was 25.4 with the 328ci the 323i gets the worse MPG but also has 275,000 miles so I guess that's expected
After rebuilding the vanos I'm up to 26.1mpg in the 328ci
I got 03 330xi and best I've ever got was like 28mpg on hwy for 4hrs. and that was once. usually 21-23 in town
I drive my 318ti for about a month driving exactly 78 miles daily and still hvnt filled it up yet...talk about great car
Mine gets 17 mpg!!
Vacuum leak, you were running lean probably bank 1 and 2.
I appreciate the help but my God you don't have to tell your life story and take a minute just to say a sentence. Honestly I don't mean to be disrespectful but it was so hard to watch the video because of how slowly you described everything
I know, Pat Merrick, I tried watching it again myself and I 'bout fell asleep. Damn it was boring. Thanks, "Hotrod" and #coupeZilla
@patsboxing how can you ask a man to speak less when your on his video 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️, good luck with your shit
Wow. Don't know how to answer that except that idiot must be YOU@@RodriguezSteve
@@patsboxing94 Box me 1on1..
