  • Episode 6’s surfboard review comes from arguably the biggest brand in the world, Channel Islands. The crew at CI decided to send one of their biggest selling models, the Rocket Wide. I thought the 6’2 might be a little on the small side, but the board had other ideas. Clean, lined up Supertubes provided the canvas to test the board.
The Brief for the Shapers in Season 1: Produce a Winter Performance model for Captain Kai to surf Supertubes on. Board must paddle well, have good all round performance and handle larger waves. I will review the boards honestly and give my feedback.
    Board Stats: Size: 6’2 x 21 x 2 3/8 Model: Rocket Wide
    Grip/Leash: Hurricane
Fins used for Review: Scarfini Air Thruster

Hi bru, we surfed together a few times at Seal Point University Champs. Live in Australia now. Just got a Rocketwide for summer in Spinetek. I ride 2 + 1 fin setup in smaller waves it is amazing 🤙🏻🏄‍♂️

Nice one. Any chance you'll try a Pyzalien 2. Heard they make a good one board quiver.

I’d like to get one of these! Predominantly I ride a high performance long board or a 6’2 fun board and want something a little more ripable but still am very intermediate on a short board. My 6’2 is a Timbertek and 41 litres which feels too big and buoyant so was thinking the 6’1 rocket wide at 38 litres in a poly might do for me at 6’1 and 195 pounds. Any tips on sizing? Cheers. Great vid by the way.

Ahoy, the RW is a great choice. It is very performance based but still stable. I think you spot on with your 6'1 sizing. Also, if you do the spintec epoxy you will get a bit more flotation and pop. Let me know how you go.
