    The funny thing is LT is the reason that LT’s (left tackles) get PAID so much to protect QBS now. He changed the game by forcing elite Talent at the left tackle or your QB ends up like Joe Theisman (RETIRED VIA SACK BROKEN LEG).

He’s caught a fair share of interceptions for a time when passing was barely what people did. He was 6’4 (so he’d def be tall enough) and he ran a 4.4 so he 100% has the speed for it, he’s also one of the smartest players of all time. When you really sit there and look at it, shit is possible

Lt benefited from the " In the grasp rule" and allowing QBs to throw the ball away when outside the tackle box. Perfect example is the f8nal play of the SB was not credited a sack yet we all know the impact. AD has changed how team draft interior lineman. There's always room for debate but being in the conversation says alot.

      How much of an impact he had on the field was 2nd to none..... Only Prime had as much of an impact.....
      LT was so BAD the team he was playing called a timeout cause they couldn't find LT on the field..... (He was actually getting a breather on the sideline for that play 🤦😂)

LT was the best defensive player that I have ever seen in my life. My first time watching him was when he played the Saints in the Superdome and he was injured. He still was getting strip sacks. The game was a low-scoring affair because the Saints has the Dome Patrol as well, but he was dominant.

    I think Aaron Donald could play in any era of football. I actually believe he would thrive better in LTs era because how physical it was. The Oline thats playing now are more athletic than what LT was playing against and they are stronger. Aaron Donald stats are absolutely insane for being a DT and getting double or tripled every single snap.

      I was born in 81 in Chicago area so I saw White play for the Packers a bunch, and heard about Butkus since I was young. I got to see Sapp in his Prime (I still love him yelling at Sherman to put a jersey on 😂). Most players you listed I’ve seen highlights of, but it was a different game those guys were tough, like crazy tough!!!

    Yeah man LT could drop back in coverage and take an int to the house. Dude could single handedly take over games as if he were a quarterback. I've seen Aaron Donald have similar effects...But LT could get you sacks, ints i.e put points on the board...When you talk about a defender taking over a game, if he also can put points on the board that's a different level.

      So true. And there were A LOT before all them. Guys who played in the 70’s will talk about guys who played before them. And then we can throw in how technology, equipment, training, medical knowledge didn’t really exist and guys still performed at a ridiculous level. I’m even tempted to say LT shouldn’t be in that top 5 due to the fact he was high on blow throughout his his career. That has to have given him a big advantage

    I usually go with these newer football players but on this I'm not going against the old football guys. Football was much different back then. They also didn't record sacks and on top of that they didn't pass as much. Someone from today better have the all time sack record because they have more opportunities to sack quarterbacks.
