      LT
      B. Smith
      White
      Lewis
      Peppers *
      *88 balls defended/batted, 44 forced fumbles, 175 tackles for loss, 159.5 sacks (77 different qbs),186 qb hits, 11int..
Perspective: all time leader in balls defended was CB champ baily with 203. Peppers had 88 and he played line +80% of the time... The fact that he was snubbed from NFL 100 team, is a complete failure... Peppers may just have been the #1 all around defensive player ever.
Sorry Donald... Not yet my man. You got some work to do big fella.

How many years did Peppers play?
Answer: more than twice as long.
      Was Peppers great?
      Undoubtedly.
Donald is approaching those numbers in less than 1/2 the time.
Gretzky had much greater career numbers than Lemieux, but Lemieux had a 3-4 year run that no one has equaled.
      Who's better?
      Up for debate.

Donald sometimes doesn’t fill the stat sheet but he is a menace. Teams game plan for him specifically for him. Definitely top 5

    • @atom5341
      @atom5341 2 года назад +37

To further your point, when playing the rams Donald is the 1st and by far most extensive factor in opposing teams game plan. There is no way for a stat sheet to account for teammates stats as well as teams minimizing how often they pass the ball all because Donald. Stats won't show how many fewer deep balls a team will even attempt because they know the receivers won't have time to get down field. People often talk about Steph curry's "gravity" on the court, that is also the perfect way to describe someone like Donald. His presence permeates throughout the game in ways stats cannot show.

He had the pressure that resulted in the game sealing interception. So you must of missed that.

I like how these guys think they know football, and don't even put Deacon Jones or Alan Page in their top 5 Defensive players.
Alan Page actually won an MVP as a Defensive Tackle/end. No one has done that again. He was the JJ Watt of his era, but had closer to 20 good seasons at it. Deacon Jones had season with over 20 sacs, Multiple.
and OH BY THE WAY THOSE WERE 14 GAME SEASONS.

Donald, deserves every accolade the media and public bestow on him……But, he has never affected games the way LT has….That’s just straight truth.

Top 5 given the restrictions on defenders. Pocket pressure is one of the most important things since the rise of QB importance, taking up an excessive amount of cap space.
