- Who wouldn’t want to live in a house that used to be owned by a celebrity? Not only would it be guaranteed to be a lavish home, but you would also have countless stories to tell about the famous former owner.
Believe it or not, basketball superstar Michael Jordan has had quite a hard time selling his Chicago mansion. The house’s listing price has been cut in half to $14.9 million since Jordan first put it on the market, but MJ still hasn’t had any luck. Let’s take a look at the real reason no one wants to buy Michael Jordan’s mansion.

What would you change or keep the same if you bought Michael Jordan's mansion?
Change definitely have everything sanitized, sterilized due to gross habit. Hope he doesn't do this anymore. Probably not since he's so rich, he could buy a food factory. Yes a museum would prosper. Was the price he paid and the yr. he purchased it mentioned?
Nicki Swift I need his home
...I'd pretty much keep everything how He left it; we're Talkin bout THE GREATEST PLAYER IN THE HISTORY OF BASKETBALL; so, for Me, in Honor of Him, there ain't Too Much I would change about the property.... Hell, if I had that kind of cheddar, THAT'S THE MAIN REASON I'd BUY the property! To Treat it Like a MUSEUM!!😄👍
@@welcometosunofjagapyramidh6079 she wasn't the greatest but ok
I always thought the NBA association should buy it and turn it into a NBA Museum.. one of many.
I'm surprised some Chinese billionaire superfan hasn't purchased it.
I'd think the owner of the net would be able to afford that easily.
I don’t buy anything Jordan.

@@eltrece9157 How so? You do realize that you are the type of person that causes the current craziness around racism, right? The very fact that you think my comment is racist is more of a reflection on you. It shows that your lens on life is largely influenced by race. You are a pathetic person that tries to find racism where it doesn't exist. So, by definition, you are a racist. How ironic. It could be due to your ignorance, stupidity, laziness, insecurity, experience in life, or any of a number of other reasons. Perhaps you can look back on your life and try to unravel why you are a racist. BTW, I have Chinese people in my family. My stepfather is Chinese (he's been in my life since I was four and he is amazing), so I have aunts, uncles, cousins, and even grandparents that are Chinese. I've been to China multiple times and know the culture well. It's a well-known fact that the NBA is hugely popular in China, that there is a LOT of money in China, and that Chinese people own a ton of property in the United States. It's actually staggering. If only you took the time to seek understanding and ask questions instead of remain in your lazy ignorance, with your assumptions, and accusations. I suggest you do the research rather than spend your time trying to find racism where it doesn't exist. Given all of these FACTS that I stated above, one can come to the logical conclusion that a very wealthy Chinese superfan of the NBA might want to purchase this property. Class dismissed. Now please go out and try to rid yourself of your toxicity, and racism.
Bottom line if somebody can spend 15 million dollars in the house they're going to spend it on a house that they build. People with that kind of money don't live in somebody else's dream home.

Biju Kalita I believe it’s based on appraisal value. So both land and physical property on the land
@@bijukalita6690 Based on the city or county valuation of the property. Florida property taxes is nearly 1% of the total value for example a 200k home would cost 2k in taxes each year or divide that by 12 for monthly payments.
If millionaires want to buy a mansion, it certainly won't be in Chicago with shitty weather plus the house looks so dated and could run you a fortune for just maintenance and other taxes
You just might be right... Why purchase in that shitty environment? He *worked* there, therefore...

Bulls don't pay their players enough to afford this.
Part of the problem is that the property taxes last year on that house was more than $120,000 and will probably rise a lot more in the near future. Illinois is notorious for really screwing over homeowners on taxes. All very high-end homes in Illinois are having trouble selling. There is a big mansion in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago which originally cost $65 million to build and has been on the market for sale since 2016 - first at $50 million and m=now at $45 million
0:53 can yall give me the link the video of him making the Jordan logo
I mean even if the owner is famous, its no guarantee its going to be sold.
god forbid, when Jordan passes, everybody and they auntie gonna wanna buy his house 😭
I'm kind of surprised that someone just paid $560,000 for a pair of Jordan's sneakers but no one will pay just 28 times that to get his entire house.
Their is a difference between 560,000 dollars and 14.9 million dollars. Also, on top of the 14.9 millions dollars you need to pay 100K each other in property taxes, you need to pay utility bills which can be another 200K each other. Also, security cameras and stuff to clean the garden and among many other things. No one has that type of money.
I think the summer weather in Chicago is amazing. Maybe another athlete will buy it one day.
Mannnnnn that house would perfect during this quarantine 🤷🏽♀️😂😂😂 but I would neverrrrrr move to Chicago 🤦🏾
Why when it’s your time that’s it!
chi town ain’t even that bad it’s all about what part you’re in
Could you imagine the property taxes on that mansion ....
And the insurance premiums.
It is 100K for the property taxes per year. It does not include the utility bills such as electricity and water. It also does not include the stuff to maintain the house.
Why buy a mansion in Chicago when you could have one in L. A. , Houston, Miami, Atlanta or New York? And by the the way I live in Chicago.
Excellently stated!!!👏🏾
BTW...born & raised in Los Angeles!🤩
If I was to buy a mansion I would stay in Chicago Because I live in Chicago and I wanna stay here it’s about other cities. Los Angeles, Houston Miami, Atlanta, New York it’s not home Chicago is 🤷🏽♂️

“Custom” homes are often difficult to sale. This should be no different as it is extremely customized. To boot, you eliminate a large portion of buyers when the price is in the multi-millions.
Oh thank GOD you made this, I always heard the fake reasons but couldn’t find the “Real” reason. Lol.
The house is too expensive, too customized, and it's not waterfront property. If I were him, I would turn it into a tourist attraction like Graceland, or rent it out to current Bulls players during the season..... I also read that his Florida home is not waterfront property either.
Doesn’t he hate swimming?

That's only 36000$ bro. Not close enough for 15M$
I could see Wayne Gretzky buying this home and turning the basketball court into a hockey rink.
As a real estate agent for 45 years, I can say that only one thing keeps any property from being sold and that is the price.
Thanks, Capt. Obvious!
@@tustinsystems You are very welcome, "obvious" has made me tens of millions in real estate.
Almost. Adding taxes, insurance and upkeep - constants even if the price were lowered - the buyer needs to have about 6 times the asking price in net worth. That’s a small pool that wants to live in Illinois.
Pass it down to family and cover the costs. I'm sure they'd love living there and take pride in MJ's number being on the gate. A normal person wont buy that house.

Illinois in general is a bad state to live in right now. They have lost about 10% of their population to other states because of their high taxes

The problem is the people(a rapper) who would want a house like that dont have that kind of money..but sad thing is when he passes that house will be bought so fast!
They'll buy it if he sells the shoe business with it 😂
Why no one would buy his home? The Real Question is, why is he selling his home?! Jesus Christ.
Because he doesn’t want the home anymore... did that have to be explained???
Everytime someone turns rich, nothing is good enough anymore. While he's at it, he should sell the other 200 mansions he probably just "Don't Want Anymore". Pathetic People Now A Days.
He customized the place so completely in his own image and tastes that how could anyone else ever feel at home there? You would still feel like you were in his house.
