Great Video! It's cool to here about these weird type of artists that ride the line between musical parody and serious music instead of flatout parody like Weird Al or Lonely Island. BTW I'm super excited for that Duck Stab video
I haven't listened to God's Father in a while mostly because of how long it is, but I do remember that album kinda fondly. You can tell Lil B doesn't spend very long writing for most of his songs, yet it's still good for what it is. If someone like Kendrick is a word painter, then I'd liken Lil B to a really good quick-sketch artist with words. Somebody who just throws shit down and it still comes out above average. Also gotta mention that project has production credits from the likes of Clams Casino and JPEGMAFIA, so it's already goated
In France we have a really good metal parodic band called Ultra Vomit. They come from grindcore and make songs inspired by metal genres or bands and parody tropes of the mouvement with a really catchy music. The only problem is that the lyrics are really important so it can be hard to understand if you don't speak french.
Lurk I don’t see rly Yung Lean as having as strong a satirical element in his music as Lil B or Viper (and it probably would’ve been redundant to mention him anyway), but he is a great artist nonetheless
Listen to the residents third reich and roll they somehow managed to make parody covers of 60s pop music good. Also I see 100 geccs as a modern day example of “parody” the way the play on and over exaggerate the sound hyperpop and other “trendy” sounds
