Only the real ones know The Beatles 😤😤😤😤👏👏👏
I'm glad I'm not the only person who will listen to albums based on the artwork. I remember years ago seeing the cover of MM..FOOD on a thumbnail, clicked it cause I thought it looked cool, now 5 years later MF DOOM is one of my favorite artists ever.
artwork definitely plays a big role for me
The cover art for the natural snow buildings album is based on a frame from the movie Possession (1981)
bad, lazy, intentionally lo-fi or crude cover art is sometimes way more enjoyable than a very well thought out or well made cover art. no love deep web and old $uicideboy$ eps come to mind. i'd rather have nldw or some rap songs on my wall than an album with really nice artwork. shitty or lofi artwork has a lot more personality than one's that were well crafted
i literally have srs on my wall because i love how beautifully cursed it is
"it's not art because I went to school , it's art because I'm fried and have no other choice" type aesthetics. Dig it.
Get To Heaven by Everything Everything has my favourite album art of all time. I absolutely love how the image compliments the absurd political undertaking and colourful craziness of the music that accompanies it. So much so in fact that I keep a painting of it that my ex gave me. It's in my room even though I've gotten rid of all her other art. It's just that cool a cover.
Checked that album out cause of the cover and it has become one of my faves oat
Die lit album cover of the year
Dude your videos are so well made I can't wait for you to blow up
WWW
The Parable of Arable Land's cover is probably my favourite. It's the kind of cover that sounds exactly like the music within the first seconds of hearing the album. It also has great colours and you always find something new in it.
The record store picture at 5:03 is in my hometown! The Record Exchange in Boise, Idaho. Love that place! Great video btw!
Aye that's awesome! and thanks!!
big, BIG W for modern jester, definitly one of my favorite album covers and i have used it as a profile picture often. my favorite album cover is probably just before music by lonnie holley. i still haven't had the motivation to listen to it, but i adore the cover. it's such an eyecatching and interesting setting. i definitly recommend checking it out!
forgot to add, excellent vid! you are just getting better and better!
Ι love the cover of the 3rd side of tape. So many elements that are totally irrelevant with one another, yet they look so good together, exactly like the album.
My favorite kinds of album covers are the ones that portray the same specific feelings that the music does, in a way that only visual art could. Some examples that come to mind are
2814 - Birth of a New Day
Beach House - Bloom
Ween - The Mollusk
Talk Talk - Laughing Stock
Future Sound of London - Lifeforms
Animal Collective - Merriwether Post Pavillion
James Ferarro - iAsia
Cocteau Twins - Treasure
Oneohtrix Point Never - Replica
Swans - Filth
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Machine Girl - BIYAAHEYSF
The Caretaker - An Empty Bliss
Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children
Burial - Untrue
Portishead - Dummy
Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma
Grouper - Alien Observer
DJ Sabrina the Teenage DJ - Charmed
MGMT - Congratulations
Duster - Stratosphere
I feel like you can tell what the atnosphere of all of these records is like just by looking at the cover, which is what got me into most of them in the first place. They also compliment the music really well
My favorite album cover is Sunn O))) - Black One because it perfectly represents the music and at least my process of getting into the music. When you first see it, you think it is just nonsense, just like the first time I heard Sunn O))). You then start to notice different unique things and make out a picture and gain an appreciation and enjoyment of it. I also see something different every time I look at it which is really cool. Truly one of the albums
Hey I'm sure you already know, but I'm 90% sure the cover art for Daughter of Darkness is actually from the movie Possession. I think it's a painted picture of the female lead, Isabelle Adjani. The movie is this super dope arthouse horror movie, I would recommend it if you're into darker stuff.
amazing movie
Some of my favorite album covers:
Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
GZA - Liquid Swords
New Order - Power Corruption and Lies
In the Court of the Crimson King (obviously)
SOPHIE - Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides
Playboi Carti - Die Lit
Basically any of FKA Twigs' cover art
Weyes' Blood - Titanic Rising
Aphex Twin - Richard D James Album
Outkast - Stankonia
Boldy James - Manger on McNichols
and the Beatles - Revolver
dude i love your videos. keep it up man !
Underground noise and electronic labels from the 80s-2000s had some really cool art damaged lofi covers.
Good job on getting into this and not smoking btw. Just quit this year and it sucked.
I feel like the best album art ever in my opinion is Kid A by Radiohead (although it also being my favorite album of all time helps). I have that shit as my computer wallpaper. It is an absolutely beautiful art piece, and not only does it fit the overall feel of the album, it fits every song individually too.
Bro I love these videos
7:40 scared the shit out of me
i see this heat in thumbnail, i click
But, I like the five leaves left album cover :( It was my first Nick Drake record and It caught my eye because of the cover (and turned out to be my favourite Nick Drake album).
Heavy Black Heart by Death’s Dynamic Shroud is a top 10 for me
Yo street sects
I hate beatles and pink floyd coverart
