Lena Willikens' Five Favourite B-Sides (Electronic Beats TV)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 30 сен 2024
- Amsterdam based selector Lena Willikens picks out five of her favourite flipsides for the latest episode of our B-Sides series. Between her residency at Salon Des Amateurs in Düsseldorf and radio show “Light Conductor” on NTS, she regularly showcases her fascination with freaked out synthesiser tunes, industrial sounds fused with organic beats and general avant-garde oddities, which is clearly displayed on her Dekmantel “Selektors” album, and her own productions for labels like Cómeme and Commend.

Honestly - that Harthouse track slowed down... Damn
Best series on RUclips at the moment, instant click!
Blind test is best series
@@j1mbobable Yeah I actually agree, this and blind test are 10/10!
Wilikens represents one of the greatest artists the club-scene in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany) has to offer.
Saw her once in Cologne with Ivkovic. Her sets are always full of surprises! :)
Even if you are not a huge fan of electronic music basically, you should consider listening to her output.
Thank you for making the difference.
That Metamorphosis track is awesome, thanks Lena!
where to download it?
@@gekk1985 whyyyy
I‘m not huge into Techno (I know, blasphemy for a subscriber of this channel innit) but all of these sound amazing. Love the selection.
In no way blasphemy, happy to hear 😀
I always trying to introduces people to electonric music. It's the most amazing music because anythintg is possible in that space. Dancing to this music is the most amazing ethereal espeirience you'll ever have.
Harthouse is legendary in German techno. Mid 90s in Germany was a phenomenal time in electronic music. The Pallazzo in Bingen smacked so hard. The sunrise looking at the Rhine River and the wine vines across the way is something I'll never forget. What a great club. 8 hours in the Pallazzo was like heaven. Amazing.
i was one time there.i think Miss Djax from holland was djing.and maybe Hardfloor live
I think a great artist is someone, who can tell everlasting stories made of unique materials through a flawless presentation. Lena has it all! Absolute magical.
TOP SELECTION,,👌 IDE HATE TO BE ON ACID TO A COUPLE THO,,, TRIPPY TO SAY THE LEAST,,😎😎😎👍👍
R. I. P. Mr.Gehm
Metamorphosis' track is a great song, I own it for years now ! But played at that speed, it's kind of weird.
Demdike Stare's Test Pressing series. Masterpieces. Going to be checking Lena out a lot as she's passed me by until now.
She seems cool with a great taste in music and selection- I will have to check out some of her sets and tracks - thanks 👍☺🎼
She has sets with Comeme
@@decidoes thanks 👍
I would give ANYTHING to have all those vinyl records on your shelves ❗😱🙏💜🎶🎵AWESOME
Discogs
I wish i was her neighbor, checking out all them vinyls!
Lena Willikens is serious selector. Some comments criticizing the sounds of the tracks, but that's why she deserves even more credit...try listening to one of her mixes, then you'll understand her skill. The way she weaves these types of tracks, and brings danceability and energy to her mix. It's wild af and unique. Lena is 💫
Thanks Lena and EB TV. I really enjoyed this episode. Love her work
Loved especially the Ken Ishii and Andreas Gehm tracks. Good stuff!
Please make more videos ASAP, these videos are great especially during this pandemic. So much love for this channel.
keep up the great work guys!!! first liked then viewed, this is the quality level youtube should have
How beautiful, I love Lena Willikens!
It started well with "Harthouse" I liked it, it surprised me with "UTU" and finished well with "Roter Stern Belgrad" very atmospheric with a very primitive setting... Congratulations, these selections are new to me!
Cheers here from Brazil.
Am I the only one that loves to see dj's bedrooms?
Nope 😬
PERFECT first song!!!
Love this series! Please keep it up! 💙💙
Demdike Stare are 1st Class !!!!!
Their track 'Past Majesty' (also from the Test Pressing series) is an absolute monster. LOVE those guys.
@@StudioMagnetique If you watch the video on my channel VTS 02 It has Miles And Canty and me Djing before they were Demdike Stare you will have to skip threw the video a bit but Sean is Scratching over Dj Woody and Miles is on before I think on his own. He can mix anything into anything he's one of the best I've come across at mixing. Im the guy with the Pot on his arm. Happy Times them it was a great night Dexterity 😉
Another solid episode with amazing tracks and a seemingly really cool DJ I didn’t know.
But could you please put the track ID’s at the end of the record showcase as it was before? It’s easier that way to skip back through the video and find the ID’s after watching the video.
Now start finding her sets. She is really one of my favorite djs out there for some years already. Check out the beats in space releases at least!
Also, her sets with Comeme. They are not what you would expect. Lots of underground and strange music. Love her.
You're so lazy and boring and disrespectful. What's the point of even inviting the artists and recording their perspective on the tracks they present when a five second screenshot video with track names is just enough, right?
She's spot on about that Ken Ishii release on Plus8. Beautiful stuff but kinda hard to squeeze in during a set...
I don't know her at all but what a cool DJ with some cool music :)
Hell yeah Lena is the best! Unbelievable DJ! Thanks Slices!
Salon des Amateurs!!!
Much admiration for Lena's selections x
Wow, what a selection. Awesome finds.
I played this 0.75x playback speed, so I can play that game too ha 🤔😂. Still love that hart house tune slowed down though 😎
beautiful music taste.
Wow that was cool, awesome selection
Is there a version on youtube of her slowed down metamorphosis track? It's wonderful
Side note but Lena is an absolute fucking QUEEN it's so great seeing her passion for music, just how someone moves their body and feels the music within themselves is so apparent in their mannerisms. As real as it gets. Thanks for this video☺
Lena I love your taste, thank you
10 whole minutes and no cigarettes. I think this is a first.
hehe, demdike stare favorite track and andreas gehm so nice, also love your track neue obakel, on repeat 🔥🔥
She is a real selector
Haven’t even watched it yet and I already liked it cause I know y’all bring the 🔥🔥
da war jetzt nix für mich dabei, aber geschmäcker sind verschieden. tolle serie 💜
Nice episode, nice selection, very sympathetic woman!
Didn't know how tribedustrial DÜ was...
Yes
She has good taste
Loved this. The Utu track is a gem.
so good...and the jumper too
There always great finds on b sides

love the Larry and Grace pic too!
Thx
Nice and original one 👍
Excellent
awesome, thank you
Cool lady.
Long life to TEB
SO PERFECT //&$86
You watched it in 40 secs after release? Impressive 😬
very very nice selection
Hot stuff
For me, if I were to be “literal” about the best b-sides - it would absolutely be the actual B-Sides series by the master Frank de Wulf ;) All are *gems* -Nice choice with Demdike Stare, indeed an original voice, & Ken Ishii is a seminal figure. *Edit my comment got stuck(?) at the end of the vid & posted accidentally. I wanted to say big-up on the Massa EP - I bought it at Downtown Records in the early 90’s - only copy they ever had!
Great taste!
Great vibe!
Very cool
We have different ideas about 3am peak time music, but I enjoyed this very much. Thank you.
😘
Cool! Konrad Wehrmeister pls..
danke lena
Please put that Harthouse record in a paper sleeve. Hearing it scratch coming out of that cover is cringe worthy. Hehe. Justbkidding :)
That’s part of the analogue sound 😉
Which festival in Japan??
She has amazing hair.
Mein Gott, können wir herausfinden, worauf sie sich einlässt?
Lena video = instant click
Demdike so good.
Crvena zvezda Beograd!
Roter Stern Belgrad, holy crap, LOVE it!
I am enjoying the "intimate" look over a DJ's shoulder. Like others said: do not always share the same choice but, hey, inspirational regardless! Cheers and thanks for this series!
Hat sie in parallel records gearbeitet?
she sounds very aged....and wise
can anyone understand what the name of the 2nd track was - "test pressing - dislodging" ?

thanks!!
boah!
clean up your 1210's!
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Anyone that changes the pitch down, let alone changed the rpm of a record, deserves to have their decks taken away. Stop fucking with a producers vision.
That's what DJing is about for a big part.
lol is this your first day
Utter, utter terrible. She is a professional DJ 🤦♂️..god help me..beyond words
How old is she ?
Never ask a woman about her age
who cares
Ich finde die Trackauswahl irgendwie nicht gut
Wäre auch komisch wenn jeder den gleichen Geschmack hätte.
I can not understand what people like about this clickety clack crap music. I love almost every style of house music but no matter how long and hard I try... I just can't listen to these kinds of tracks. there is zero energy in these tracks. To each his own I guess.
exactly. Tastes are luckily different
I know I know.. but like I said.. there's no style of House I dislike.. except for this. I really don't get it. It sounds to me like it's just the percussion part of the song. Zero energy. I wasn't trying to be offensive or sound like an asshole.
it's definitely "lower" energy than more poppy house music that has drops and beaks, etc.
try to enjoy the instrumentation and atmosphere of it rather than waiting for a release… at least that's why i like it. the build can never deliver and still be super interesting
For me this isn't everyday club music. But if you are in the right mood, which might happen twice a year, they will be absolutely perfect und make you cry.
The further east you go, the stranger the sound 👊🏻
