Nice job! This was so helpful. My speaker grills started crumbling believe it or not, and the dealer wanted $200 to replace them. Following your video, I was able to replace the speaker grills myself for the cost of the grills (about $30). To answer KeishaLou's question, the bolt between the seat cushions is a 12 mm metric bolt.
I like the step-by-step nature of your replacement. You inspired me to finally tackle the rear door speaker removal replacement of my 1992 Toyota Century V8 import (JDM). Thanks Carol.
Huseen, I had the same question since I have a 2005 XLE. I called the service dept at a local Dealership. The guy said just to disconnect the battery before removing those side panels. The airbag is NOT connected to the side panel so it should come off just like in the video. Just be careful not to hit or puncture the airbag that is behind the panel.
Thanx for the video. I was able to replace my speakers without any trouble. This was a great tutorial. Now you gotta show me how to install an amplifier.
i just purchased a set on jbl 3way 6x9 from amazon and will be installing them over the xmas break thanks for the video. I had to reuse the speaker frame on my sons 05 Vibe which is also built by Toyota i dont know why they have such an odd shapes. I'll be using them with a MTX amp at about 50 to 75 % of its capacity, should sound great. Keep your videos comming, you explain yourself well.
Excellent video!!! Thx so much. I have a 2005 Camry and have not changed out the rear speakers because everyone said it was a pain to do. After watching your video, I'm going to do it. Hey, you have to crank some AC/DC out of those new speakers now!!!!!!
I have a Camry Vienta 1997 model, which is probably only called that in Australia, and it has 6" x 9" speakers in the rear deck and 4" in the front doors. I am about to change the rear speakers, and this video has been very helpful. Pulled the back seats out today, along with the side bolsters and the plastic trim, just to see how it was put together, so thanks carolking63. It also gave me access to a defective seat belt , so that was a bonus.
Everyone, home speakers are mounted into a box (speaker cabinet). The box affects how the speakers sound. In the car, the trunk is the speaker "box". Listen to your speakers with an empty trunk, some stuff in the trunk, foam blocks or the space-filling materials in the trunk. Put stuff into the trunk, or take stuff out, until the sound suits you. Experiment to enjoy!
I have an 03, I think the 4 factory 6x9s sound good with deep bass (in fact I have a video review of it main man). I also think the 2 tweeters for front dash them sound good.
Good video. Those factory speakers are hot dumpster juice trash! :D I got JBL system in my 2009 but I think it's the same crappy speakers with a JBL logo or something, LOL.
I'm most of the way through installing new speakers on my 02 Camry thanks to your vid. I appreciate you taking the time to do this! If it weren't for your video I don't know that I would have felt confident enough to do it myself. However, my factory speakers look a bit different than yours. I think they might be upgraded or something. I'm hoping I can use the existing mounts like you did to make it work. (also i'm working on figuring out how to wire them to the toyota wiring) Thanks!
Does your camry have a factory amp? If so, did you have to leave it disconnected so it wouldn't mess the sound up using after-market speaker replacements?

Great Vid man! The use of the old speaker to make a bracket for the new was priceless.
Very nice!!! neat and clean!!! This is the first video showing the removal and install. Thanks for the time you spent on this.

Thanks for providing this. I am not looking forward to this, but now I have clue as to what's involved.

mario63chevy Hey man, not sure if you're still around, but did you install them in the front as well? did you get them to fit properly ?
Brilliant idea with the old speaker frame. I will give it a try when I update my rear speakers. Thanks for that!!!
Thank you so much for showing how to reuse the old speaker bracket.

Thank you so much. I thought the instruction were insane, but you really do have to take the damn car apart. Thanks again.
Fk. Japan not very Smart

Very nice video, simple and to the point! Thank you!!!
you guys are welcome anything for a person to save money
Nice video! Thanks for showing how to modify factory speaker frame to hold the new speaker.
I loled when he straight up tore the old speaker from the bracket like a beast.
Yeah. Speaker cruelty lol
Good video. Those factory speakers are hot dumpster juice trash! :D I got JBL system in my 2009 but I think it's the same crappy speakers with a JBL logo or something, LOL.
Magnet is twice the size otherwise same speaker yes
the one that come close to it are kicker and they sound real good

Insane design!
Thanks for the video man. This was exactly what I was looking for.
thanks for uploading the vid...i was going to change mine out, but didn't realize there were so many steps
Thanks! Helped alot. Have to assume they designed it this way to make them harder to steal - otherwise why not bolt in from the trunk! Cheers!
Thank you very much for this video. Saved a great deaLof time for me.
wonder if it's similar process for 2007 Camry
Thanks for the video I probably could have figured it out but it's always better to know what to do before you go guessing
What tool did you use to cut out the speaker gills?
Can I do this the same way with an 2007 xle camry?
Great video Thank you.
The pioneer speakers you had, are they 6x9?
Thank you brotha my car would be jacked if I didn't watch this
Please can i replace my 07 Camry rear speakers the same way? They really piss me off every time i hear them!!!Nice video!!!
How many watts is the old system?
Does your camry have a factory amp? If so, did you have to leave it disconnected so it wouldn't mess the sound up using after-market speaker replacements?
hey buddy i have the 2005 camry but i am wondering about the airbag sign on the sides in your video minute 2:05
ya mon' tanks
I have did the same by cutting old speaker and make adaptor for new speaker.
Respect thank you job well done
BTW, carolking63 what company makes the factory stock speakers for the Non-JBL sound system.
Holy shit what a pain in the ass. Note to self: Put the best goddamned speakers in the rear that I can find! Only wanna do this shit once!
I had to remove all 4 wheels, front seats and bonnet too to get to rear speakers. That's nuts. Why not design it easier.
Thanks man appreciate it.
What do you use to take out the screw between the seat?
you know they make adapter plates right? You cant tell me those dont rattle like crazy nice video though!
are front an back speakers same size?? 6x9??
Is it just a regular 6 by 9 speakers ?
Are those regular 9x6 inch speakers???
Awesome Job!! Thanks
sweet man. What size are the aftermarket speakers?
6x9s for both the rear and the front in my 2006 camry
How did you mount the new speaker into the old speaker frame?
He said yo! He cut out the outer bracket by following the outer line. Rewatch. Not sure what tool he used, best if you have a cutting wheel.
But how did he stick them together to reduce the rattling
@@alee4602 drill small holes and use sheet metal screws, easy peasy
Real yardy .. Check mine out I just go custom on me 05 Camry speakers
Jamaica man 😆🤣🤗
pause it.......
