"I would bet that half of the mechanics at a Ford/ Lincoln dealership never knew that these test parameters ever existed." We have to know them. Its not optional. We get sent to factory training every few months. On top of that, we just can't fix the vehicle however we want, even if you get it right. Your entire diagnostic session has to be documented and follow the diag procedures that Ford sets for that particular job. They're checked and if you missed any steps, or did something that Ford doesn't approve of, the RO will get kicked right back to the dealership, and they won't get paid for the work. That said, its not too bad. Ford has very specific diag information for just about every conceivable job you may get yourself into. Basically, you get step by step instructions for both diag and repair procedures. Even if you have little to no experience doing a specific job, as long as you follow the instructions listed in the workshop manual, you'll get it right 95% of the time. And if you're still having issues, you can contact Ford directly, and they have people that will try and help you. If all that fails, and you still can't resolve the issue, Ford will send an engineer to the shop. But the main thing is, you really can't cheat. Ford has too many things in place to check your work. Your only option is to do everything by the book. As far as Rich goes, he's way better than most techs. If he wants do stay with Ford, but not work for a dealer, 99% Ford would hire him directly and have him teach or make him a field service engineer. Those are jobs where they only hire the very best. @@garyrigsby8464 check/change spark plugs. That helped with my 2019.
I have 41,000 miles, You still think it needs spark plugs.
@@garyrigsby8464 Nah just let ‘em go till you got clogged cats and plenty of buildup in the engine.
What is 153401 mean
nice info bud.
I just learned about this because my estimated computer mpg's was very generous with the claimed efficiency. I was able to take my actual mpg with the claimed mpg and calibrate the computer to be more accurate. Haven't a clue how people claim their trucks gets 23 - 26 mpg's. In my opinion they are full of shitaki mushrooms.
That is bad ass!!
Does it work for a 09
Read comments people are chiming in on older ones
Thanks, that is interesting.
i can do this on my 2009 f150 just have to hold the reset select button for the digital part of screen.

Dig it but if no one but that special engineer knows what any of these codes means…. What good is it for us?

I don't get these comment like this, really passes me off
You can't monitor system voltage but with it you can

You can't monitor trans temp but with it you can
You can verify Air Fuel Ratio but with it you can
You can't verify more accurate mpg but with it you can
Your comment just plain sucks because you didn't listen point blank
@@FordBossMe ya know what dude. You get triggered and insulting too often. With me and others for simple stuff. I’ve been a subscriber of yours for about 2 years now, I’m never an a-hole but you always comment back like a freakin jerk, so now I’ll just unsubscribe.
@@kineticenergy1085 He's annoyed because you didn't actually watch the video entirely, he explained the entire thing, and gave you details as to how certain things can be useful. You won't be missed.
