THANKS FOR WATCHING!
Hi Danny and Wanda yes my husband and I were talking about how having a garden should be fun and not a burden on in our seventies. We want to smile not frown, yes a raised bed is so much better, we agree with you.
Been using a system much like yours for many years. My husband would set it up for me every year. I believe it has saved us a whole bunch of water over the years.
I put in same irrigation last year in my entire garden and greenhouse, along with water shut off timers. Absolutely the best investment I ever made. You will love it Danny!
We have several raised beds, I so want to have irrigation. Takes over an hour to water, dragging hoses around. Husband is 71 and I’ll be 70 in June. 😊
Good morning Mr Danny and Ms Wanda. Irrigation looks great we put it in our greenhouse and it is such a blessing and time saver. We put a timer in and it waters daily by itself. Thank y'all for sharing and have a blessed day.
I volunteered at a senior living facility many years ago. I installed this on the raised beds there. It was tied into the yard sprinklers. So as a station it turned on daily fora set amount of time. Worked great since I was only there a few days per week.
This might be my last year digging in the dirt. Just planted potatoes and still have a bunch more to plant. It didn't take long but, I am worn out. 77yrs old and still digging. I always wanted to be that old lady in the woods who grew all her own food. I got to the old lady part.
Hang in there. Do the best you can.
Bless your heart ❤
Just don’t plant as many
Hi, from WV! I am 70 yrs okd and have been gardening for as long as we have been married...45 yrs. We switched to raised beds six years ago and have never questioned our decision to do so.
Ho, from WV again. Your videos are such a blessing! I look forward to all of them! You quote scripture just like an interim minister we had once. Thank you for inspiring and motivating me!
We're at the collecting parts stage of our irrigation system. It will be a blessing when it's done.
Thank you for showing us ways to grow efficiently and sharing your knowledge.
Thanks, Danny and Wanda.
The greenhouse and the watering system looks awesome Thank you
Greetings Danny and Wanda.
Fantastic you have most all this done for watering the plants. The intermitters make very good sense to me in order to adjust the water flow.
Very wise to tie the leaves up for the cauliflower and keep sun off.
It's exciting to see those peppers doing so well and so much your growing you two can be eating now.
Those vego beds are totally awesome and now you can irrigate easily. Thanks for sharing.
May you two have a blessed night.
Welcome to drip irrigation California style cannot survive without it. Retired landscape contractor this is what we used. They make 1/4 soaker hose lines also to run along plants like lettuce/cappage a little more labor involved though. Russ in comyfornia
Good morning Mr Danny and Mrs Wanda. Thank for this video.
Thank you so much for showing us how you did the irrigation system , I would like to eventually put it in my high tunnel
This came at such a good time, Yahweh is so good! Mike has been working on an irrigation system for our raised beds (which are not in a high tunnel). He has pvc going to each bed, the pipe runs underground from box to box, and each box has a shut off valve. He was looking for emitters and had questions about how far the emitters would spread. You answered all his questions, thank you! We also just planted June bearing strawberries so I love that you showed an option for watering those. Shalom to you and Wanda- we’ll be ordering the emitters today. ❤
Your garden looks wonderful. It is so good that you are preparing everything to make life simpler as you age. Aging definitely requires adjustments. I know from experience.
Great news!!
Thank you for showing this ❤
Plants look amazing
This is so nice.
Morning. Everything looks amazing. Y'all have a blessed day. Much love 💖✝️
Morning! That irrigation system is pretty cool! I need to come up with something for my greenstalks. 😊
I know where you’re coming from Danny. I’m stubborn about letting people do stuff for me. I’ve always done it myself because I’m one of these people that I know it wasn’t gonna be done right so I might as well do it myself instead of asked for help but nowadays it’s different since I’m older. Your vegetables in your high
Tunnel looking great. God bless you and Wanda..
Good morning! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
Good morning! Everything looks so good! I'm working on my irrigation system!
DANG, MR. DANNY said it before YOU ARE AWESOME.
SO SMART can do ANYTHING!! 😊❤
😎 so cool!
Love how you have the high tunnel set up! God bless!
I could use some raised garden bed's, at this point, I don't care if they are made out of wood, vego bed's or pots. With my S. I. Joint issue it makes anything hard & painful to do. But I finally got my garden initially tilled & still have a smaller one to deal with. As crappy as our weather has been (20-30+ mph wind's for the past month), rain, today it spit snow) I'm glad I got this far, the only time I didn't hurt was while I was tilling. Lol
We got some fruit tree's planted, still have a few to go. I hate hoeing weeds, but I've asked God to bless us with an abundance of food we get planted. I'm hoping he will.
I'm excited abt it this yr.
We just had a bull calf this morning & then got to watch an awesome video. I love those mini vego containers & the windowsill one. I might look at getting one of those for my mom.
That’s going to help you out big time 😊
Awesome
Good morning guy's. Joe and I are transitioning to raised beds. They are such a blessing, especially as we get much closer to our 70's. Have a blessed day ❤
Last. Year, 2023, I had to give up my large in ground garden at the age of 84. I transitioned to gardening in mineral tubs sitting on a long shelf about two feet off the ground. That puts the tubs at a level that does not require me to bend over to work the tubs. There are 16 of them, plus 7 large grow beds planted in potatoes and green beans. I love gardening, and I am very happy to be able to continue this way.
I am learning not to limit myself
🦋I took the apartment I looked at yesterday and I will be busy getting a small vegetable garden in by Gods Grace ❤🙏🙏🙏
It is almost time to build a off grid house at Pecan Grove.
In time.
🕕💧💧💧 very nice!
We are switching to containers and buckets and would like to add some additional raised beds to our garden. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and hope you have a blessed day and rest of the week.
You hit the nail right on the head when you said that about joy. The Lord showed me last winter that gardening had lost its joy for me because I had allowed things that other people had said to turn it into something it's not. It's amazing what a $10.00 battery operated timer and some cheap irrigation hoses can do for your life! So worth it! Going on year 4 with mine and totally love it. 😊
Psalms 128 2nd verse :For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt though be, and it shall be well with thee.☺
You've been watching Kevin and Sarah at Living Traditions! Was wondering why you hadn't done this! I think drip irrigation is the way to go!
Not really but we do know them. There great people.
How great to have irrigation. I know the garden hose watering is a pain. Looks really good
Great video God bless
🙏🙏🙏♥️🕊👍 Ray's bed is the way to go
Step by step, day by day, the infrastructure is being built and the crops are growing to produce their harvest. One thing is sure: when the infrastructure is done, it will be well done, which is much better than having made mistakes and having to do it OVER.
Drip Depot. I just installed my system also.
Thank you Danny every time you and Wanda, make a video we learn from your Knowledge you share with us. Beautiful garden.
My onions are crushing it this year. We had a storm and some are laying over but its my best year ever for onions even if they stop growing today
Good afternoon.
Evening
Good Morning Yes Yes gardening is a joy when you work smarter not harder! Nice Irrigation system Take Care
Good morning ☀
Morning
Good morning
Hope ya'll have a blessed week ❤🙏
Looks great Mr Danny, irrigating is going to save you and Ms Wanda so much time for all of your other chores.
Good morning
Morning
Your high tunnel looks great! I really enjoy watching your videos especially the Cub. Have you considered drip tape for the strawberries? Also the timer on the irrigation will definitely simplify things. No more having to remember to turn the water on or off. Keep the videos coming. We love them!
I'm still using a water hose until I get my raised beds switch out.
Because of cost i had to build raised beds. First year growing in raised beds. I'm letting part of my In ground rest this year. I am really loving the beds so I see more in my future. I'm almost 60 so its time to start making things easier on myself. Maybe in the future, I can afford beds like those, but till then, I'm doing what I can to grow most of our produce.
brilliant! grass starting to get green and some tree buds, in MN! HA!
and peepers, window open love it!
Thank you for sharing the watering system. We are switching to all raised beds and I was dreading hauling around a hose!
Psalms 128: How blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways. When you shall eat of the fruit of your hands, you will be happy and it will be well with you. NAS
Glad you have nearly finished the tunnel!
Good morning, ya'll! I really like the irrigation system. Was wondering, how long do you time it each time? Especially like the drip you use for your strawberries 🍓
Still working on it.
Thank you Danny and Wanda have a blessed day
Amen, 🙏🏽
Good 'mornin'! What a beautiful day. Happy homesteading! 🙏🏻❤️
Thanks Danny. My tomatoes are blooming and my peppers are loaded with buds. It;s the first time in years that I"ve had blooms this early. We got an inch of rain from the system that came through yesterday morning. I'm so thankful toGod for this wonderful weather. Much Love ❤
I may have missed this in past videos or chats, but I was just curious if you all use eat or have heard of Einkorn flour? I just realized I think gluten bothers me and found that flour.. did some research on it and it seems to be good. Apparently they messed with our wheat somewhere in the 1950s and crossbred it to make it produce more and that’s where our gluten intolerances comes from, I’m just now learning some of this🥺 short version of a lot of information out there on this.
We have used it before. Danny prefers corn flour.
Drip irrigation is the way to go. They have all kinds of drip irritations for containers raised beds and row crops. I've been using row crop irrigation for the last 11 years and I'll never go back hand watering my garden . With the weather extremes that are coming, drip irrigation is the only to keep your watered.. be careful with the 1/4 inch tubing it has a tendency to blow out if the pressure is to much...
I suspect that that’s why Danny installed the water pressure controller and the filter at the spigot. Prevention is so much better than cure.
How do avoid powdery mildew on squash?
Keep them dry.
I could not find that scripture anywhere... Please re advise me.
Psalms 128 verse 2
Morning beginning to come together now
Seems like you should have put the plastic on before all the vego beds! Procrastinating?
We needed a couple of people to help. It is done now. No frost here for a couple of months, so our plants grow outside, no need for the plastic until now and we need the shade cloth to protect from heat at this point.
You may have said this or someone did; how long will you leave them on each time?
Still working on figuring that out.
🦋🇺🇸👍👍👍👍🎊🎉🎊Awesome Mr Danny n Miss Wanda. I love your High Tunnel and all you guys have done. God Bless you both. Much Love ❤️ from Eastern Pa
Just finished putting together my vegobed and put my kitchen herb garden right outside my back door. Thank you for including all of the information for this system! I tagged you guys on Instagram. ❤
O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! O fear the Lord, you His saints; For to those who fear Him, there is no want…. Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the Lord delivers him out of them all. Psalm 34:8-9, 17
Danny, have you seen "True Grit: Appalachian Ways"? He has a Farm All looks like yours, he used it last week, thought you might like to see it.
I'm familiar with them.
Believe thats in Psalms 104 verse 14.
I just looked it's psalms 128 verse 2
Get some help to finish this!
