    I come to the garden alone. While the dew is still on the roses. And the voice I hear falling on my ear the Son of God discloses. And He walks with me and He talks with me.
    And He tells me I am His own; And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other has ever known.

    I love seeing those contented cows. It’s awesome that your Grandson is there helping. My grandson comes to eat. 😂 He does actually help if my husband asks him, but Mike likes to work at his own pace, he’s almost 67 and has a pacemaker-defibrillator, still gardening, putting up fencing, making gates and structures for our sheep and goats. We also have over 40 hens and half dozen roosters, 4 ducks and 2 dogs. We’ve been blessed and take things day by day. We do have the Hoss wheel hoe purchased after we saw it on one of your videos a while back. Shalom!

    Hope the Cherokee Tans will grow but worth a try.
    And good to fill in places where there is no corn.
    Perhaps they'll get started and thrive somewhat protected from the sun.
    The other cows caught on and our running for theirs lol
    Danny got others going back the other way but he's fussing at Danny and
    wondering why he didn't get any lol

    I love ya'lls way of life. A far cry from how I was raised in the city of Los Angeles as a kid until I graduated from high school. But, my grandparents in TN lived like this. I remember as a child living with them, enjoying fields of corn everywhere the eye could see, many other vegetables growing, a huge barn, tractors, etc. On 67 acres of Tennessee fertile land. Utter peace!!! And boy, could my grandma prepare a huge spread of delicious food and desserts! God rest their souls. They were the best and how I miss them!
    Ya'll are in my prayers for even more blessings on this earth and the world to come! I appreciate all you do and your diligent and heart-felt sharing of your knowledge and wisdom. ❤❤❤❤

      @vickisavage8929 4 месяца назад

      @@lori282smith2 I don’t think so. Their Cherokee tan pumpkins are vining plants. For what it’s worth, I have read that the Seminole pumpkin is similar to the Cherokee tan, but they are not the same.
      I just did a search and found them offered on Etsy as authentic heirloom pumpkin seeds from the Trail of Tears survivors in Talequah, Oklahoma.

    Love that wheel hoe !!! No till only works if you have copious amounts of compost to put in the surface of the ground......which is why I have only a small no till bed....and it works well.... BUT..... you have to be able to make huge amounts of compost......I live compost because I can use the tractor....till in fall leaves mixed with chicken and rabbit manure.....making compost requires a fair amount of hand labor .... flipping and turning.....my body isn't up to that anymore.....

  • @vickisavage8929
    @vickisavage8929 4 месяца назад

    If’n the Cherokee tan pumpkins traditionally climbed up dead trees to get to the sun, maybe they’ll climb up the Danny corn. I’d believe that the critters would NOT like to tangle themselves in that.

I told him on his open area just get a hoe and a bag of seed corn and plant a patch of corn. whats he got to lose but a couple hours and the price of the corn. the lot is clear of trees but never plowed. I think he would still be fine and get a harvest out of it. I doubt he will get around to plowing it for a year or 3 so why not just give it a shot and he'll have corn for him and his animals maybe.. maybe not.. maybe though.

    You don't have a proper no-till garden!! No-till does not suck. It's much easier than what you are leading people to believe. A no-till soil is NEVER BARE. Our soil is not dry, hard, and crusty. It is friable, full of organic matter, nearly weed free. It smells amazing due to the microbial community. I went from compacted clay gumbo soil to being able to easily push a sharpshooter its full depth in just a few years without removing turf, tilling, double-digging or broadforking. No-till is a set of practices nothing remotely like what that garden is.
    You have a lot of influence! Please don't discourage people from a very regenerative and wholesome method. They may be misled by what you are calling a "no-till" garden plot.

    Horrible supposition. Given the results of no till on Pecan Grove ground, y’all might have to move the fences temporarily and deep plow the garden areas - at least to cut the tree roots. 😵‍💫
