I also picked peas & mine are about done, leaving what is left so I can harvest seeds, You did get some good meal fixins in your bucket there & left us hangin cause we all wanna see. 🤣
So good ! Nothing like harvesting your garden goodness! The people that don’t garden , do not know all of the hard work that you put in to growing all of it !
No till, the paths really need mulching to keep the weeds down. I have used thick layers of newspaper with grass clippings on top. It doesnt matter what you use, there needs to be something there to keep the weeds down. Super envious of your tasty dinner! We have never put peas in with our new potatoes. Its always a new onion, green beans and the first potatoes boiled down with pieces of Polish sausage. Mmmmmmm. Best Grocery Gardeners Rewards Program there is.

Too funny!!! My cat Cooper was sleeping on the couch while I was watching this video, and when your alarm system went off, he woke and thought, "What the hay????" Lovely garden!!
Yesterday planted beans, peas, carrots, spinach and radishes. Covered with netting to keep squirrels and cats out of bed. Need more plastic forks for the beds.
For the tomatoe worms look for poop on the ground under the plant and chewed up leaves, they look just like a curled up tomatoe leave. At night look with a black light flashlight and your will easily spot them cuz the rings around them stand out under black light
I've been picking peas for a few weeks now.. today's crop was about a half gallon.. some of the flat snow peas.. a few little marvels.. a bunch of one called Mr Big, and two more kinds that have escaped my brain for the moment. I have yet to master picking all of them at the right time.. some looked and felt ok but had teeny tiny peas.. some had gone a little yellow and quite a few that aren't snow peas, I picked that way.. I like those. I was hoping my pole beans would grow a little faster than they are.. they were supposed to be the afternoon shade for the peas so they get a few extra weeks. This week coming, 90s.. sigh
I only have a small amount of carrots left in the ground & when I looked at them earlier I thought it was going to seed. Now I know I'm right after you confirming it. I'll be canning & freeze drying mine the next 2 days. Amazing crop this year
Hello Danny and Wanda. Sorry to see onions aren't doing well but those tomatoes are going like wild fire. Those are some nice cucumbers. Yummy. Chris did such a good job going through there. Time to get some sweet potatoes planted and soon. Those are some nice looking beans. Some good for grilling and eating. I don't have fire ants here and sounds like they can be a real nasty pain. Those peas look so good. Your making me hungry lol Lots of good eating with what your growing 😀
Good morning! Love it, love it, love it! So awesome seeing the harvest. I’m wondering tho, how do you get rid of the cut worms in the potatoes? Hope everyone has a great day ❤
Beautiful harvest!! I just picked my fourth harvest of Little marble peas. Love your Pea manual it was very helpful. This was my first time growing sweet peas.
It’s chilly in NJ again. I’m not sure but I think everything is ok so far. It looks ok. I can’t see under the dirt though so mostly going on faith at this point.
Hello Danny & Wanda from Kentucky!! I have learned so much from you!! 🦋 I have an unrelated question to this video!! I love artichokes, this is my first year growing Jerusalem artichokes. Have you grow them? Please anybody answer my question do they taste alike? TY!! Have a blessed day!! 🙌🏻🤗🦋 You are a great example of a good marriage 🙌🏻🙏🏻
Jerusalem artichokes are also called Sunchokes. You harvest and eat the tuber. It tastes much like a raw potato. Wikipedia has a page on them. Quote from them : The Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus), also called sunroot, sunchoke, wild sunflower,[2] topinambur,[2] or earth apple, is a species of sunflower native to central North America.[3][4] It is cultivated widely across the temperate zone for its tuber, which is used as a root vegetable.[5]
My garlic is just starting to scape. I wondered about the multiplying onions too. I left a few that are blooming to see if they make seed. I just planted a few peanuts today. I also have deer pressure, I'd like to use those deer alarm but my neighbors would shoot me. I planted butternut, cushaw squash and sweet potatoes a few days ago.I'll be planting yellow squash and Armenian cukes later today. I'm at least 3-4 weeks behind you.
That is the only reason I grow peas is to eat them raw out of the garden. If I have a ton this year, I will freeze them, but nothing better than eating peas fresh out of the garden.
I love carrots. I grew carrots last year at the end of the summer and into the fall and they did fantastic and I don’t care how big they get what I care about is how they taste and I got some sweet carrots. I was thrilled to death.
I got my onions out I planted a 100+ Vidalia, 50 candy and I think around 40 Texas sweet for the most part they look good but I would like to give them a good drink of fish emulsion but it has been raining so much in the last 11 days it is too muddy to give them a drink of anything but I did put a little bit of coffee grounds in when I planted them that will help a little. I was going to try to plant some tomatoes today but it is another rainy day. Our strawberries are starting to ripen and we have some good size green raspberries that will soon be ripe, I don't really care for any kind of berry but I love to grow them. lol
Hi Danny, had the same issue with my onions like no other year had to contend with plant disease and pest, definitely it wasn't the year for the onions. Got the onions from the same place you did and we planted them abot the same time. Looking forward for the new season.
I'm so jonesin for some peas. Mine look beautiful with blooms all over. There's a few forming peas that I noticed today. I can't WAIT. I do NOT like cooked ones. I can deal if they are in soup/stew. But, the best way is right off the pea vine as you enjoyed them (in front of us!!). WHY did anyone ever think it was okay to put them in a can or a jar I will never know.
I offer unproven observation on fire ants. I have been harassing ( hoe, weed eater, shoe etc) them when ever i find mounds inthe yard and after a couple days they seem to move to a new location. Means that i can give them certain areas and they will keep out of my garden. No chemicals and worth a try where you dont care about them to see if this work for you in areas you do care about. Cheers.
Getting carrots up is no problem but, I get no carrots. Just greens. Have tried half a dozen times. I think I need to try in full sun next. SE side of house and high tunnel did not work. House shades our high tunnel on one side for half the day. Thoughts? I have 27 foot raised bed in full sun. May try a small planting on one end. My other beds are for other things. Maybe a grow bag? I have a drip system. Too wet?
Your garden looks great, it’s a shame about the onions. Mine are still green and growing, but they aren’t growing at the rate they normally do. Have you ever planted potatoes as a fall crop? We are zone 9, NE Florida. Thanks, blessings to all.
I ha a question. My peas I planted with my Cole planter . As you know it sets them down like in a valley. So how high do they need to be before I cultivate them . And does dirt hurt them to put around the stakes.
Oh yes I decided last year that I would never put out early girl tomatoes again, I fed all my tomato plants the same, my other plants were dark green and robust plants the early girls were light green and rather dainty their first tomatoes were ok, then the tomatoes from them were small. No room for any types that are not the best. I didn't care for the taste either they were ok but not the best.

Danny: is there a variety of English peas that have more than just 4-5 peas in the pods? Also thank you for the books, they have helped SO much!
The Little Marvel we use has 6 to9 in most pods
No til means lotsa mulch to keep that weed pressure down.

If those red ants don't like bay leaves, try putting bay leaves in those flowers to prevent them from eating all the pollen.
These are imported fire ants. There from hell nothing affects them accept gasoline.
