    Hi Laura! I just wanted to say thank you for all you do, I saw your post on instagram about taking the day off on Sunday’s and I’m so glad you are taking some family time. Your channel and garden have inspired me to start my own garden channel even though I know my garden is small, I have a two year old, and work as well. But seeing you has motivated me to start though it isn’t perfect. Thank you for all you do! Keep up the hard work girl. You’re awesome!

    The clip of Benjamin at the end, is like cherry on the cake! Great video. I am so glad you showed the price of the high tunnel in comparison to an iphone. We sometimes don't realize how much money is spent on unnecessary things like upgrading your iphone every year.

I’ve learned so much from you all, even Benjamin (slow down and appreciate a good strawberry👦🏻🍓) and Russell (being your silly self and hanging out with family is great. Hi y'all ☺ I just wanted to let you know that you do indeed have a 3/4" hole puncher for the 3/4" tubing. Its your 1/2" hole puncher.. (the blue and white one) just remove the little blue part in the clamp area.. BOOM 3/4", and then you can put the blue part back to make a 1/2" tubing hole!! I have the same hole puncher and use for both sizes!! 😊😊 Much easier on your hands verus the puncher you ended up using.
    Check out your "planting strawberries for Benjamin in stock tanks" video at 7:42. (Those are your 1/2" and 3/4" hold punchers) awesome right? 2 for 1 tool!!

  • @emkn1479

    I would love a video that helps us to easily identify the differences between pine, spruce, cypress, juniper, hemlock, etc. and all other conifers. I’ve been better lately at ID but my husband calls everything a “pine” and I just think it would be helpful to know the visual differences AND to know the key differences between the varieties (growing habits, preferred growing conditions, etc.) and which would work best in which application. I never used to love conifers and evergreens, but I am so into them now and appreciate their place in the garden, mostly thanks to you! 🌲💚🌲💚🌲 There is a lot of good info out there but it would be amazing to have it all condensed into one tidy video 🙃 maybe this fall/winter??? 😉

    • @rdarrett3635
      @rdarrett3635 4 года назад +6

      Agree! I need more information on this. I’m wanting to add more conifers in my garden. An additional bit of information would be varieties that are pest resistant and long living.

      We moved into a new home 4 years ago and I still haven't figured out which trees are conifers, which are pines, yews, spruce, etc. Also, the low growing evergreens are hard to identify and know how/when to prune. Recently you mentioned one in a video that you said was less prickly than others and I didn't catch what kind it was. So . . . I agree with Emily, a few videos on how to identify and care for (and when to give up on them and how to remove) these plants and trees would be so helpful! Love your videos, love your gardens, and Aaron and Benjamin are both adorable.

    Laura, I’m all turned around! Could you give another overhead shot now that there are more plantings and structures on the new property. Not sure where the high tunnel is and also which area the fruit trees will be located in. You guys amaze me in how much you have done and made such an organized space. Such inspiration!

    • @New.phone.who.dis1286
      @New.phone.who.dis1286 4 года назад +9

      Imagine a square. Now imagine yourself walking into that square in the center on one end. The high tunnel is to the right of the "entrance" of the square. The tomatoes and strawberries are on the left. Towards the other end...her seedlings are on the left and the Dahlias are on the right. That's just her planting "square". Outside of that square is going to be part of the driveway. In their new lot, they have the bags of dirt stacked in the far corner (outside of the square). That is where their new driveway is going to be, and that will be where she plants the trees. I dont remember which video, but in one of them they are describing the new property and they throw up a rough sketch of their layout for the property. Hope this helps!

      I know they don't always talk about budgets and how much things cost which I understand as they do this for their jobs all day every day and partner with some big brands like Proven Winners which of course will enable them to get a lot of things free or discounted so I personally liked the acknowledgement of the price which puts a lot of this into perspective, especially for someone like me who gardens on a balcony which is no where near the size and scale of a portion of the land that they have! Sometimes its hard to get my head around the actual cost of all the things they talk about and use, so I appreciated the addition of this in the video 👍

    We put the shade cloth on the inside of our tunnel. Running metal cables across on which the cloth is laid allows us to easily move to adjust areas of light. Also one person can adjust it alone. In the spring or winter ,when needing more light, we simply put it all to one side.

    I love this!!! It’s always so nice to see what other gardeners are doing to keep their plants healthy in their nursery containers. We are in the process of doing so many projects and I have a few “plant holding areas” and it’s such a challenge some days. 😂 I keep buying and stocking up on plants and trees, especially when there’s a good deal, I can’t help it. But every time I come home with a load of plants that I know I’m not going to plant right away, I’m reminded that I’m the water girl, why did I just do this?
    😂😂😂😂 We don’t have a huge space yet to invest on one of these hoop houses, but I cannot wait until that day comes. Thank you for sharing these types of projects, it gives us a good insight. 💕💕💕

    Another great video! I love every one of them. I am currently in the process of buying new shrubs and perennials for a few projects, so I have a list of plants that you have shown, that I will take to Petitti's Garden Center ( I was thrilled when you were able to tour their growing center in February) and see what I can find there. Thank you for all you do.

    Great choices Aaron! I had no idea the tunnel was so inexpensive. This was really interesting & informative to watch. I agree with you Laura, what a relief to have "insurance" for future successful plants. I saw a smart worker wearing a protective gardening hat! (Half of the time I forget to wear mine. I think I'll only be a minute in the garden, but an hour later - oops.) Thanks for the thorough tour!

    High tunnels are an amazing addition to any type of gardening and increase the performance of plants.

    The 10 gal per hour emitters can be adjusted so the flow is reduced. You know, depending on the need of the plant. Or you can turn em off when not in use. I use those in all my landscaping. 👍. 🌵🌵🌵

    The music when setting up the drip tube sounds like an adult film. lol. Aaron is a good man. I hope you appreciate him. Most men of his age are lazy, and they'd rather be couch potatoes than helping with your projects. :)

    Aaron says it will be a few months before all on drip.....I say 2 weeks at the most it will be all set up on drip in the high tunnel. Ummm 🤔 another shrub I need 🥰. You all have so much energy - love all the progress!

    When you took off in the gator after Benjamin helped you load the plants, for a split second I thought, 'They left Benjamin behind!' But, of course, you didn't. His excitement over strawberries never gets old. Give him a kiss from his Auntie Lisa. ~ Lisa

    Great video! Enjoyed seeing the high Tunnel and how you work it from start to finish. Every time you do a video on the drip system I learn more and more. I am running drip all around, or trying to run it all around my gardens especially my new one. When is Aaron gonna do that video on drip system?? And that Benjamin always stealing the show, he is so Dang cute!!!!

    Laura and Aaron I can see that you both are working very hard to set up the new property as well as working on your existing home property. I am very impressed by all the work you do and your wonderful videos. I can imagine that this has all cost lots of money and I hope that you continue to create these very informative videos. What I would like to ask is how you both can tolerate working in those high 80 and 90 degree days. I struggle and have to start very early in the morning (like at 5:00 am) to get my gardening work done. Once it starts to get near 80, I have to stop and go in. I am trying to finish an 80' x 15' plant bed which I started in March.

    I was wondering where all those fruit trees went. Things are looking legit in the new space! Will you be putting tables in the high tunnel as you have in the other one? Benjamin helping you carry the plants...so sweet!

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Through your inspiration I have set up drip to most of my flower beds, pots and hanging baskets. I have much better results and don't have to carry around and refill a watering can or worry about them if I am gone for the weekend. I especially LOVE the "Men surveying their Kingdom" in the Background during the video. 🥰🥰🥰
