Thank you so much for explaining the roll up versus drop down sides. Even the manufacturers don’t explain this! One of my big questions is clear plastic vs. poly fabric for covering. Seems like poly fabric would be a lot more durable. Also, what percentage shade cloth are you using in your climate?
Hello...I hope you guys are still answering questions. I looked into zimmermans. Can you tell me what the width of this greenhouse is? 24ft or 30ft. Thanks!
Wondering if you have any insight or opinion about using a high tunnel without soil in ground and using more with raised beds etc. We are putting a high tunnel over a southern location on a level concrete pad. Any help is much appreciated!
Depends on your budget and space desired, but check out Farmers Friend for some good options. A caterpillar tunnel can be an affordable entry level solution.
Great question! In the winter, the high tunnel absorbs and traps heat from sunlight. This heat is sufficient to extend our season of warm-weather crops, and to keep our cool-weather crops safe from hard freezes. Hope this helps!
I was born in Arkansas but live in Pacific NW. Have you experienced tornadoes there and if so did it damage the metal structure or just ripped plastic?
@@HeiferUSA well I’ll be. I have a preacher friend down there. I’ll be watching your videos, I might learn something. Have a great day. I’m over close to Van Buren
I'm getting ready to start a market garden in Central city on just under 2 acres. Glad I found your channel neighbor.
Welcome aboard!

Will you be coming out with a guide to building and growing in greenhouses? This was very useful.

May I ask where you purchased your high tunnel and what the name of it is please?
Do you have a recommendation for a high tunnel for backyard gardeners?

What company did you purchase greenhouse from? I've been looking at Growers solution but not seen the drop sides.
Thank you.
How do you keep the green house warm during winter

Hi. Yes, the ranch was hit by a tornado several years ago and several structures were damaged.
How long did you keep the tarp down to kill the weeds before putting up the high tunnel?
I've been told at least one whole year. If it's a field full of nasty perennial weeds, two years might be necessary.
I was not ready for that memey circus music in the middle of the video 😂
We try to keep it spicy around here :) !
Hi, I am living in New York City area. I will like to take any program to learn about green house farming.
Check out our residential education opportunity: www.heifer.org/usa/residential-farmer-training.html

At 9:22, those aren't weeds, they're asparagus!
Good eye! :)
Just wondering what part of Arkansas are you in, I’m in west central and am considering a high tunnel. Thanks
Howdy! We are in Perryville, Arkansas in Perry county, so probably pretty close to you!

@@HeiferUSA just curious, where do you sell all that produce?
So I'm ohio , a should get a Gothic high tunnel?
Possibly, if it snows a lot. See what other successful farmers in your area use.
How much is a high tunnel greenhouse
Prices vary depending on size and features

The same company we got the tunnel from. Zimmermans in Missouri

Where did you get your greenhouses ,and where did you get those 10 Ft. doors?
zimmermans
Not in Northern states
Since climates vary across regions, be sure to pick the high tunnel that's right for your area!
