Thank you so much for sharing! I stumbled upon your video while searching for "Cohana scissors", what a wonderful trip you had! I hope to go to Japan next year and it'd be great to visit some of the places you mentioned. (PS- I'm just outside of NE Philadelphia, so greetings from SE Montgomery County!)

My November trip has a few spots open, and I’ll be repeating it next early spring-details are on my website

Hello! Wonderful informative video! I was wondering for Watanabe's and Betty Smith's jeans do you set up an appointment to dye and make your own jeans?

Hi Wendy, both require appointments. They’re in the same region of Japan but not that accessible by public transportation so we drove from Betty smith’s to Watanabe’s.
Betty Smith’s is affixing the hardware only. At Watanabe’s you can bring something to be dyed, and you pay by the weight. When we made out appt, they asked for a photo of the label (I think to check for fiber content-some man-made fibers don’t take natural dyes that well). On the trip I’m offering in November, we’ll go to Watanabe’s and dye two pieces (t shirt and a bandanna) each in a different dye style.
