In this continuation of my quilt coat project, I dive deeper into the transformation process. After carefully hand-stitching logs and cutting out the pattern pieces, I prepare the quilt for serging and mending. Watch as I share my methods for selecting key areas of the quilt, stitching down loose logs, and reinforcing the fabric to ensure this jacket will not only be beautiful but also wearable. As the project progresses, I'll test the quilt's fabric to ensure colors stay vibrant and don’t bleed during washing. This part of the journey is all about precision, creativity, and keeping the integrity of this vintage piece intact.
