This makes me think if Nezarec is more like a manifestation, rather than a "being", perhaps the Nezarec that Savathun killed was originally a being of another world who fell to Nezarec's curse, got posessed and later turned into him. I do not want to see Mithrax die, but I also want to see Nezarec return as a proper and truly intimidating antagonist, the fearsome "final god of pain" his acolytes describe in their lore.
agreed, was underwhelming to find out the eldritch entity teased since year 1 was just a dad-bod tormentor that looks like a sun burnt rotisserie chicken, lol.
I think he is a pure aspect of the winnower, he embodies the psychological concept of fear in its entirety. We know that darkness embodies the psychological domain whilst light covers the material domain. Regardless though, Nezerac is a fundamental being reliant on society, kinda like the nine.
Demi-god, maybe, or he wouldn't be riding/following witness let alone winnowr. Fear is a primary emotion. Winnower and gardner feel superceding and transcend above emotion.
Bungie would never do this but it would be interesting af if that: 1. Mithrax died 2. revived 3. Mithrax as a guardian still has Nez with him 4. They rock a symbiote relationship like venom/Eddie do. It would be almost impossible to do without butchering the character as they are now
My theory is that Crow and the Guardian convince Fikrul to stand down(or regain some senses) and just as Misraaks is about to die/get taken over by Nezrac, Fikrul using the Echo to rid of the curse but at the cost of his true life. This would free Misraaks but in separating Nezrac's Cusre out of him, would cause a now reborn Nezrac with the Echo and escape as he is too weak to attack the city. That's just my hunch on how this might go
This could be mithraxs becoming a guardian, depending on how the story goes if eido doesn’t find a cure or treatment becoming a guardian could clean the curse but that would mean mithraxs would forget everything. If the guardian path happens that may not be as bad as it sounds Eido has been keeping records of a lot of events and others like saint, variks, spider, and maybe Eramis could provide a jumpstart to Mithraxs mind if he’s revived and loses his memory
Given that he pulled out that Ascension card, I think by the end of the episode, he will sacrifice himself in a final act of his old self to defeat or weaken Fikrul, maybe stealing away or destroying the Echo. Then after he dies, and we bring his body to the Last City, a Ghost will come by, scan him and then revive him as the first Eleksni Lightbearer, where Eido, Varrix, and even Eramis, her faith in the Traveler somewhat restored in this act, will be there to remind the newly risen Mythrax of who he was, what he did, and how he is now the Kell of Light, the true Kell of Kells, one who has been seen as worthy by the Great Machine for his Devotion to it and his people, how his Devotion inspired his Bravery to trust in the Guardians and Humanity to be allies rather than eternal enemies, how his Bravery and willingness to save his daughter and people led to Sacrificing himself for them, Sacrifice that led to Death and Rebirth as a Guardian. I can imagine something along the lines of: “You are Mythraxkel, Kell of Light, Savior of Eleksni, Kell of Kells. You have become Legend.
oh right... i forgot that curse thing wht the canoptic jars were in a cutscene, instead of us experiencing it in game with the other characters. I was trying to figure out how the curse started
"he is the Purest Light, the Darkest Hour, he is the Final God of Pain, Nezarec" I may be wrong in some places, but the fact Mithrax said "the Purest Light, the Darkest Hour" means Nezzy is indeed there
Look, if we were able to get inside Emperor callus' head. Then I think we could do the same here and fight the "Final God of Pain" in the mind scape and end the cures. Its a long shot but I'm willing to try it.
Eramis leading House light and House Salvation would not be bad maybe she will make Eido a kell to Eido the light Kell like her father before her and Eraims the dark Kell with both houses as one that will cool
You fail to see the vision - a United Eliksni Kelldom, no longer a puppet regime of the pan-Human Last City, free to be equals and choose their own path (I’m totally not coping hard about how Eramis has been shafted by the plot on multiple occasions)
So why did he think it was a good idea fo drink that cursed alien coffe, I mean the "Nez-cafe"? Oh wait, he took on the the curse to save Osiris. Still, a really nasty way to go out.
If Nezarec takes over....He named us to be the ones to put him down. I want to try and save him but if he does...I hope that if he does die....he gets to be a guardian. Maybe Savathun or Eris would help restore his memory.
I’ve got a theory that’s been bouncing around in my head for a bit, so we know that nezzy is a chimera or some type of amalgamation of different species due to his eyes being vastly different, I believe he gained these different eyes by reincarnating into another body so through his entire existence he has died multiple times but he always comes back through someone either seeking power from his remains or an acolyte taking one of his body parts and becoming corrupted like how mithrax is going through this curse right now and eventually the influence of nezarec becomes so great he begins to take shape in the person or creature he is corrupting and comes back to life with a new eye in his eye ring thing? This would kind of explain how he has different eyes and I would like to see if this actually becomes true and we see mithrax contort and shape into nezarec possibly with a new design to show how he took mithrax’s body
Problem with this is The Witness directly created him, he was the first true Dread. He's not like Rhulk to where he had a previous life pre Disciple, The Witness created him from scratch.
I think mithrax will turn into Nezerac eventually, maybe during act three because it has the exotic mission known as kells fall which could be referring to mithrax or it could be referring fikeril
I know people are speculating that Mithrax will die from the curse and become a guardian. But an even worse than death situation is Mithrax slowly becoming Nezerec, slowly losing himself to the curse. Never truly dying. Mithrax, gone forever, but the Final God of Pain, always there. Not even a chance for a revival as a guardian.
So will Neserac come back again after he consumes the mind of Mithrax, use it as his new host and he could even transform it ? Could he become a new boss for a new episode ?
I wonder if wearing any of Nezaric related armor or having weaponry will help us hear something different either now or later in the episode’s story. It might be too on the nose to do it again from Lightfall, but yeah it’s Nezarac’s return, so it could be teased further. Also, I’m feeling it might lead into poor Mithrax being killed or sacrificing himself and possibly becoming the first Guardian Eliksni
So this is my theory given what weve seen so far for revenant. Mithrax will end up succumbing to Nezarecs curse, and Nezzy will take over him we will then confront nez, but Mithrax will die in the end to save eido. However, the Traveler upon seeing the sacrifice of the Kell of Light, will be moved and give him a ghost as the First Eliksni Risen, marking him as the True Kell of Kells rather than Fikrul. This Risen Mithrax will then defeat fikrul, and with Eramis and Variks both advocating for him as the leader of the Eliksni since they both remember Old Riis and the prophecy of house rain. We will still have fallen to fight as defectors from salvation who worship darkness and the pirates of dusk but house of light will be the main eliksni power in sol
It would be great storywise, if near the end of REVENANT Mithrax becomes Nezerac, kills and maybe eats Fikrul The Fanatic. And comes back to his Pyramid ship on Moon or the Witness's Pyramid ship where he was last time killed and goes away, or we have a last stand against him and kill both Nezerac & MIthrax with a sword to the chest.
I'ma be honest I feel like nezarec wouldn't kill either mithrax or fikrul probably just leaving mithraxes weaker body for the immortal body of fikrul with an echo would make him unstoppable
Well fikrul didn't target the city he targeted eramises ketch so he could crash the Helm also we don't really know how powerful nezarecs curse is anyways so maybe it overrides the revenant infection?
Fikrul wouldn't since he believes we killed his father so he would probably hate us but I do see him reasoning with us. Also we don't know if the echo can even override the curse of nezarec
I don’t want to kill Mithrax but Nezerac must not rise again. I see this going down 1 of 3 ways. 1 Eido finds an elixir that will stop this. 2 We end up killing Mithrax before Nezerac rises and a ghost brings back Mithrax making him the true Kell of Kells. 3 a ghist chooses Mithrax while he’s alive and somehow cures him and again making him the Kell of Kells. I have no doubt Nezerac will return just not through Mithrax. The relics we have can’t be the only ones left.
Nezerec offers a unique threat that the Witness didn't. The Witness was just a being of raw power with no tricks or gimmicks, just might. Nezerec on the other hand is truly immortal, and is essentially a mind flayer of sorts, Nezerec existing in proximity to humanity is enough to plunge society into chaos. Similar to what he was doing with the Cloud Ark.
We killed the witness with significant help that we might not have for Nezerac, and the witness had a key weakness we managed to exploit to kill him. Until we figured that weakness out, and it was only possible because of how the inside of the traveller worked, we couldn’t scratch it. Had the witness focused on attacking Sol instead of pushing ahead into the traveller, there would have been literally nothing we could do against it. Nezerac doesn’t have any such weakness we know about, we can only stop him from getting a new body or regenerating. It is very concerning.
I hate to disappoint but Eramis saves Mithrax with the power of the echo and since Mithrax is transformed by the light of the echo. He becomes the Kell of Kells.
Because crafting Guns got rid of the joy as well as the grind for that perfect role, the guns we CAN craft will stay, but crafting from here on out is gonna be useless
This makes me think if Nezarec is more like a manifestation, rather than a "being", perhaps the Nezarec that Savathun killed was originally a being of another world who fell to Nezarec's curse, got posessed and later turned into him. agreed, was underwhelming to find out the eldritch entity teased since year 1 was just a dad-bod tormentor that looks like a sun burnt rotisserie chicken, lol.
Somewhat unrelated but it kind of reminds me of Shabriri from Elden Ring, he cannot die because hes chaos incarnate, formless.
I mean he says it himself, you can’t truly kill him, you can kill his body, but you can’t kill the idea of pain, of fear
Nezarec might be the one of the only other true Gods aside from the Traveler & Winnower in Destiny.
I'd say he's a bit more than just a god. He's the concept of fear after all.
Agreed he already had god like reputation and power before joining the Witness.
I think he is a pure aspect of the winnower, he embodies the psychological concept of fear in its entirety. We know that darkness embodies the psychological domain whilst light covers the material domain. Regardless though, Nezerac is a fundamental being reliant on society, kinda like the nine.
Winnower would more or less be considered a creator of the universe if I believe
Demi-god, maybe, or he wouldn't be riding/following witness let alone winnowr. Fear is a primary emotion. Winnower and gardner feel superceding and transcend above emotion.

I was thinking the same thing
Nezarec raid day one was easy because he wanted it to be. It was all part of his plan.
Given that he pulled out that Ascension card, I think by the end of the episode, he will sacrifice himself in a final act of his old self to defeat or weaken Fikrul, maybe stealing away or destroying the Echo.

The fact that Mithrax took on the curse for Saint and Osiris is humbling and shows that he has truly become a good friend to Saint
1:45 Anyone tried talking to him with Nezarec's Sin?
literally just finished the last video, great timing
Nezarec will puppeteer mithrax to help defeat fikrul, then nezarec will yoink the echo and evade us
We all clowned on that thick boi in RoN. Now look at em
He will be turned into the final boss of the upcoming refurbished Wrath of the Machine raid.

Nezarec is starting to sound like Lucius the Eternal from Warhammer 40k.
I really hope we don't have to kill Mythrax and have Eramis ending up being the next leader for house light.
Eramis leading House light and House Salvation would not be bad maybe she will make Eido a kell to Eido the light Kell like her father before her and Eraims the dark Kell with both houses as one that will cool
Maybe, but we would have to convince, and being trapped in an ice prison isn’t really a good start, but it’s possible.
You fail to see the vision - a United Eliksni Kelldom, no longer a puppet regime of the pan-Human Last City, free to be equals and choose their own path

I see her escaping after fikrul is dealt with. Reclaiming her house and trying again to rebuild riis.
It sounds cringey enough so bungo might actually do it
Nezarec wants revenge for us one phasing him in the witness's ship aka pyramid
He has to become a gardian, he embodies what a it take to be one.
So why did he think it was a good idea fo drink that cursed alien coffe, I mean the "Nez-cafe"?
Oh wait, he took on the the curse to save Osiris. Still, a really nasty way to go out.
Nezarec has so much aura bruh.
What cool title he has, the darkest hour, the purest light, the final god of pain.
Bungie did him so dirty
don't forget the Chantry of the Darkest Hour in the Lunar Pyramid
Why do i feel like mythrax possessed by Nezerac would give us the Wrath of the machine end boss vibes..
Honestly Mithrax dying then becoming the first Fallen Gaurdian would be cool.
Maybe the true revenant of the episode is Nezarec taking full control of Big M
If Nezarec takes over....He named us to be the ones to put him down. I want to try and save him but if he does...I hope that if he does die....he gets to be a guardian. Maybe Savathun or Eris would help restore his memory.

We better save him. We owe him, he killed Amanda Holliday

Let’s be honest: the fact that Amanda Holliday holds more plot relevance than Eramis or post-arrival Rasputin is just saddening
Mithrax didn’t kill Amanda, the Shadow Legion did.
I want to wonder when will variks get his arms fixed
I hope Mithrax beats this thing trying to kill him maybe the Guardians can find a tonic to cure him before its too late.
I think we kill Mithrax in act 3 since the exotic mission is called 'Kells Fall" or something with Kell in it
Mithrax, New God of Pain
So I wonder what will happen to Traveler Mithraxs since he’s there with Caiatl overlooking the horizon towards the Witness’ tower
