Well this has opened an unexpected can of worms, Saint seems to be having an identity crisis. To add some context for those Guardians that were not around back in 2018 there was a quest line on Mercury that took us to the resting place of Saint-14 within a simulated future conjured by the Infinite Forest. From our perspective back then the Martyr Mind had already drained his light and the vex eventually overwhelmed him, but the Vex seemed to develop something of a respect for saint and so fashioned a tomb for him. Fast forward some time and these events would play out different and we would end up saving Saint and supposedly erasing his tomb from the timeline. Now I would have assumed that Osiris would have told him about his alternate fate and yet this 'truth' presented to him has shaken the old Titan to his foundations. In truth we cannot confirm if Saint's body no longer exists, unless Osiris removed it from the forest and gave it a proper burial, but even then the body may have ceased to exist once we altered history. The fact that Saint seemed to accept the truth so easily does not sit right with me and makes me believe that there is some kind of manipulation going on.
He has a point. Our guardian saw a grave stone of Saint. Which imply that the saint from our timeline have died. Looks like Osiris looked through time and found another Saint from a different timeline. This will bring implications.
But at the same time it was a simulated future since Saint is starting to question himself well that should bring up a plethora of questions to ask aswell like is Saints grave really our timeline of Saint or could that be a “fake” Saint too? (Edit: agreed) It definitely opens an entire can of worms.
rather the respect i think it was fear so they entombed him to keep him in(incase he somehow revived) and to keep everything out i mean he prob killed millions of vex before they finally killed him
I have to wonder if the Witness also had a singular conductor in its collective consciousness, and if that's the same voice we heard refer to itself as "I" instead of "we" at the end of Excision
I think you can fairly assume this is the case. The conductor for the Witness might be one of the Precursors we saw lore about. I can’t remember their code names
So The Conductor is from the original timeline where Saint was dead and she basically infected Saint who our Guardian and Osiris has saved with what is essentially a logic plague that is now causing Saint to have an existential crisis. Add that to the Vex are starting to use more militaristic tactics which could mean they can plot ambushes and last line initiatives. Act I ends with Saint having an existential crisis and the new leader coordinating the Vex in the form of The Conductor. Back in Season of the Deep where Osiris and Nimbus were going over the logs of Chioma Esi who recorded the experiments conducted on the Veil by the Ishtar Collective led by Maya Sundaresh. Code names involving an orchestra such as a conductor and a chorus were used. Pretty much Dr. Esi watched in horror as Sundaresh continued with the experiments despite many people are dying from it eventually leading Maya to be consumed by it too. It's also known that Maya Sundaresh ever since those Veil experiments have made multiple copies of herself within the Vex network through her studies of the Veil. Those many copies of Maya Sundaresh were all eventually lost in the network leaving only an Exo copy of herself in the form of Lakshmi-2. The Echo may have attracted one copy of Maya Sundaresh allowing her to gain a sense of self with great strength and becoming The Conductor commanding and coordinating the Vex on Nessus creating a new symphony of her own control.
Chioma Esi was also one of the Copies released into the vex network. If Maya did the same procedure the precursors did to become the Witness, wouldn't she just have joined the witness? become part of it. Then when we broke it apart, she's free again and landed on Nessus.
@@domvasta No, Maya and the Ishtar Collective was mainly making use of the Vex Network concepts for most of their experiments and while Maya did do experiments on the Veil, she created her copies in the Vex Network. Vex Network is not part of the Witness but it's among the Vex minds themselves.

They had to get the Guardian off of Nessus so the riggers could move in all the new set pieces and change it for the next scene. Haven't you ever acted in a play?
Seems to me, Bungie cannot let go of their Halo roots from a lore standpoint. It's eerie, the "Conductor" is paralleled by the "Primordial" of Halo Lore. And like how the "Primordial" infected "Medicant Bias" with the Logic Plague, It seems the "Conductor" has infected Saint-14 with a similar "Logic Plague", or a Harsh Truth....
I really don't understand why Osiris did not explain to Saint that. He merely grabbed him from an earlier timeline where he was still alive. He cannot be a copy because the vex cannot simulate paracausal energy or the light, so he's definitely the real thing
I cannot wait to fight the conductor and whoever is the enemy in revenant, in the new raid. Would be a very fitting end for both bosses. Splitting the fire team in two to fight one boss at a time and switching per damage phase because of say a debuff for 2 minutes. I really hope they confirm the Maya being the conductor thing. There’s no way they say it’s one of her copies from the vex network or Choi Essie. Choi wouldn’t make sense as why would she do the same thing that maya did, that she despised?
I think Saint means he died before he was an exo not by the vex. The exo’s all have radiolaria that can be influenced. The copy of the copy of a copy sounds like all the different times cayde “died” until cayde 7
Last time she messed around with the Vex thinking she was all high and mighty, the smartest one in the room, she was nothing but a pawn. She was lead to her own death by the Witch Queen. She was so tricked she was broadcasting Savathuns Song across the last city.
Season of plunder...after we collect all the pieces of Nezerac, Mithrax makes a "tea" fot Osiris to drink to fix what Savathun did to him. Well somehow when making this "tea" Mithrax has something happen to him. We don't know the full effect yet as it's been running in the background in a couple different lore tabs. So far his arm has been becoming tingling and I think in pain. Also if I remember correctly he's also having pains in his chest but I could be wrong about that. So by making the tea Mithrax was cursed by the remains of Nezerac.....hope that helps
Soo In this cutscenes why don t they do something like in god of war turn of the player character and just play with camera like in gow for more cinematic feeling. Just asking
As much as I love Saint and Osiris this is now the third major story that involves using there relationship as a keep point in the story. I like that they include things like gay relationships and trans characters like Mika-10 but when companies throw it in my face constantly like nothing else exists then it starts pushing me away. I think Mika was done perfectly though, the characters background and lore is awesome.
Given the threat the Conductor now has against Saint-14's mind as an Exo, what's stopping them lore-wise from brainwashing other Exo Guardians - such as my own Exo Titan?
the "conductor" is definitely maya or at least one of her copies that was let loose in the vex network. i think saint is real but the conductor is messing with his head using her knowledge of exos being made using radiolaria. she probably believes that saint is a copy, the same way she's a copy because we/the guardian saved him from his original fate, which was to die. i personally think that she's corrupted the same way laksmhi-2!maya or og!maya was. it's just pure hubris and ego at play here. she wants to remake earth's golden age in her image, using the echo. nessus is just a testing ground.
Maya was messing around with the Veil, so it’s possible she’s or her simulations in the Vex were the only ones who knew how to harness what came from the Witness.
The samples were a very weak point for the story in my opinion, as well as immersion breaking that the patrol space hasn’t been given the new look. But aside from that when do I get to have maya’s vex milk
I really really dislikes the failsafe dialog this season. She never annoyed me before now, but the changes they made to her really make her unbearable.
I bet the real saints body was just dead but his consciousness was taken by the hive and he's the new vex leader which is why he knows so much about our Saint? Idk im wrong probably wrong.
The next act better not be us using all the samples to make tea for Saint so he isn't mind controlled...

I wanna know how NEW radiolarium is formed. How the vex multiply their actual "form"
Ok, how much yall wanna bet Saint-14 will pull up a Final Shape Cayde-6?
While I am concerned for Saint that weird reaction from Mithrax is also very worrying. Does anyone know what that was about?
The thing where Mithrax doubles over in pain? He's still suffering from the curse of Nezerec.
That will probably be a big thing in the next Episode. Maybe he’ll become the Alucard to Fikrul’s Dracula.
I think Saint means he died before he was an exo not by the vex. The exo’s all have radiolaria that can be influenced. The copy of the copy of a copy sounds like all the different times cayde “died” until cayde 7
How can Saint wield the light if he's just a simulation? Last I remember, the Vex can't simulate paracausal forces.
What mission is this because my mission seemed to stop
Feels like telling him a truth
I will hold my opinions in the story until the last act. Not a fan of the usual seasonal loop though gameplay wise
Last time she messed around with the Vex thinking she was all high and mighty, the smartest one in the room, she was nothing but a pawn. She was lead to her own death by the Witch Queen. She was so tricked she was broadcasting Savathuns Song across the last city.
How can Osiris TP if he does not have a ghost??
it's called Transmat, anyone can do it if they have access to it
I'm calling it, the conductor is Lakshmi 2 - ask me why then i'll provide my theory
Ok I'll bite. Why? And honestly, I kinda have a feeling that it might be her as well. But I'm interested to hear your theory.
NOT AGAIN
Send him against anyone but the vex, he's 0-2
Seems all the self insert alphabet couples in Destiny are always having issues, based love it
I’m missing a key thing here, what curse of Nezarec? When did it start and what’s it doing? I mean we killed him afterall.
What's interesting about Nezarec is that as long as the idea of fear persists, he will continue to live on. He's like the boogieman in the D2 universe
@@jessemusil2978 The cursed Nezcafe-
I hope Mithrax doesn't get killed off in the vampire Fikrul episode
@@jessemusil2978 ohh yeah, been so long I forgot about that. I don’t get too much into the all the lore tabs often. 👍
Isn’t the fact that Saint-14 wields the light proof he is still the same Saint-14. Can Vex replicate the Traveller’s powers outside of a simulation?
I thought thay saint was going to be the conductor before i finished the mission
Soo In this cutscenes why don t they do something like in god of war turn of the player character and just play with camera like in gow for more cinematic feeling.
Just asking
Too bad Asher cant cut her off at the pass. But then he would probably study the phenomena...
subterfuge and manipulation smells like witness
what is going on with osiris head
He bald
I can’t wait for the next act. This story is getting very interesting i wonder if my theories will be correct..
Failsave is kinda sacry and dats kinda hot
As much as I love Saint and Osiris this is now the third major story that involves using there relationship as a keep point in the story. I like that they include things like gay relationships and trans characters like Mika-10 but when companies throw it in my face constantly like nothing else exists then it starts pushing me away. I think Mika was done perfectly though, the characters background and lore is awesome.
Again?!
Given the threat the Conductor now has against Saint-14's mind as an Exo, what's stopping them lore-wise from brainwashing other Exo Guardians - such as my own Exo Titan?
Explanation: Plot armor
To the serial number 😂😂
the "conductor" is definitely maya or at least one of her copies that was let loose in the vex network. i think saint is real but the conductor is messing with his head using her knowledge of exos being made using radiolaria. she probably believes that saint is a copy, the same way she's a copy because we/the guardian saved him from his original fate, which was to die. i personally think that she's corrupted the same way laksmhi-2!maya or og!maya was. it's just pure hubris and ego at play here. she wants to remake earth's golden age in her image, using the echo. nessus is just a testing ground.
Wait a minute.
Echoes. The acts.
Year 7 is a JoJo reference.
Feel like the season story gonna pick up from this point
I just don’t get it how is it Maya. Like this. Came straight outta the witness so how can this be something that’s not part of the witness
Because it doesn't have to be a part of the witness. When Bungie talked about the other episodes they mentioned the echoes being used as weapons.
Maya was messing around with the Veil, so it’s possible she’s or her simulations in the Vex were the only ones who knew how to harness what came from the Witness.
We still don't know the full truth or context of what happened. It's not like this Conductor is trustworthy.
It’s maya sundaresh
I bet it’s Lakshmi
my poor little gay
The samples were a very weak point for the story in my opinion, as well as immersion breaking that the patrol space hasn’t been given the new look. But aside from that when do I get to have maya’s vex milk
I really really dislikes the failsafe dialog this season. She never annoyed me before now, but the changes they made to her really make her unbearable.
I bet the real saints body was just dead but his consciousness was taken by the hive and he's the new vex leader which is why he knows so much about our Saint? Idk im wrong probably wrong.
from what we know and if you did the new version of the Nessus strike with the Psion boss, it's presumably Maya Sundaresh... well a simulation of her
Let’s goo
Do you think Saint 14 is a top or bottom 😂?
That Osiris DLC is playing off greatly year ago
I don’t care because I have a 12 lose streak in trials 😡
Yeaa Saint gone after this season 😂
