I was shedding tears when seeing Dunyarzad 'soul' finally watch Nilou's dance, knowing that it was her last moment. Turn out hoyoverse just played me. Very well (I didnt hate it at all, I felt relieved)
‘ This is the second time I’ve cried over a cutscene. First was Yunjin’s performance and now this. It hits hard when Dunyarzad appeared. It’s just so good!!!
This was the most engaging archon quest so far. The writing team really popped off on this one. If you havent got to sumeru yet get there as soon as possible when you have a lot of free time!
I don't know what dendro did the writers smoke for this one, but yeah, definitely an improvement, i'm looking forward for what the next updates have for the story.
Man this questline was good. I really though Dunyarzad was dead. I was even thinking about how sad it was that her only wish was to see Nilou's dance and that it never came to pass. I was so glad to see the last fragment of her consciousness watching the dance. It's good she survived. Even if she won't live another year due to that illness. These Archon quests are really hitting different.
@@xeacarons It's more likely a whole new writing team as (though not completely confirmed) most of the old team left partway through Inazuma's development.
This was probably the best archon quest we got so far. Normally I would go do something else during the archon quest, but I did the second part all together, because I was so invested in the story
Fun Fact: The name Dunyarzad is a character based on the series of middle eastern tales called 'One Thousand and One Nights'. Dunyarzad is the younger sister of Scheherazade , the main character in the series (really fascinating story, google it if you have a chance). Anyway, the opening music 0:00 - 0:37 is based on the symphonic suite Scheherazade by RImsky Korsakov. Definitely one of my favourite orchestral pieces. If you like the opening of this, check it out!
@@uyuman1 trust me dude dont report too many bots in a short period of time itll get your account nuked for "false reporting/spamming" (happened to me almost 2 years ago 😭😭)
@@TheSzutekina In my opinion, Dunyarzad should have died, and don't get me wrong, I loved her, but at this point I was crying thinking that was her spirit watching the dance, already assumed she was dead, just for minutes later seeing her alive, like nothing happened. It took away some of the emotional impact of the story, but nonetheless, it was amazing, easily my favorite archon quest so far.
My mom's nearing the final stages of her cancer and I just wasn't ready for this eleazar stuff from Genshin. After Dunyazad said her eleazar was "terminal" I had trouble following the quest's breadcrumbs from the tears. Was a very intriguing and beautiful quest. The way they made it seem like Dunyazad had passed away with regrets was heart-wrenching. I would've been satisfied if she had gone after seeing the dance honestly. It's the thought of her dying with regrets that was so sad.
im so sorry to hear that. i hope you can spend lots of quality time and enjoyment with your mom, i hope she realizes she is loved by you and that you are loved by her.
I hope that see by some miracle gets better, but if not cherish these remaining moments with her, to let her know what a difference she has made to you❤
I totally get this. My mother wasn’t lucky with cancer, and this quest was hard for me. Related too much to it, I guess. The way in which they made you believe she would not make it, like other important quest NPCs, but then at the last moment she appears, and I couldn’t help but shed tears after that, out of relief. I hope we get to see more of her, maybe a character arc conclusion if we are able to get rid of the withering for good (and with that, the eleazar)
I just want to say that seeing the traveller having emotion in this quest is such a great addition. On previous quests, traveller just seems like they're just there, but this quest, this is special. Actually on the verge of crying during this cutscene which is rare because I rarely cried at anything. Glad the writing's seen improvement.
I’m in the same boat, I never cry at any of genshin’s quests but seeing Dunyarzad appear as a “ghost” made me genuinely burst into tears. She was the first npc I actually began to care about, this is a huge step up from inazuma
@@IcyDragonPolaris I kept wanting to beat those fools the whole time for repeatedly tormenting Dunyarzad and Dehya. I was SO relieved when we finally got to beat the crap out of them.
I agree. Whenever the Traveler does show emotion, it's either happy, angry, sad, or tired. Well that's an oversimplification but even then it's usually not conveyed well. This is the first time we see the traveler truly be anxious, regretful, and properly expressing grief.
There was this part where traveler sent themselves a message when they get out of the city because their future self would forget everything, and they VOICED this part SOOO WELL. I did not hear the aether version yet, only the lumine one, and it kinda striked me how good the voice acting is. Her voice is so expressive and we could feel it so much, like the Panic in her voice was so noticable. Makes me think about how much we could have if mihoyo let the traveler have a voice. Lumine's voice actor is incredibly talented.
I think they mostly do that because the traveler can’t speak the language fluently so Paimon does most of the speaking for them and they talk in short sentences when necessary. They probably would speak more audibly but considers that just knowing how to read and write is easier since Paimon is willing to explain stuff to them and basically be their translator. Also it would be difficult to learn all of the languages across Teyvat with the pace that they’re traveling. There is a possibility that they have a universal language and so Paimon has taught the traveler that but even that may be difficult to understand since it isn’t their first language.
@@rottentreegremlin5126 They have a lot of dialogue so I don't think that's it. This comes down to Mihoyo not really knowing whether they wanted a self insert or an actual character.
@@Relatablename Yeah I agree with this, they were trying to do a bit of both but not going far enough on either side for it to actually work. The Traveler has the backstory and potential of an actual character but without the personality necessary for it because Mihoyo wants you to be able to insert yourself into the traveler role. I really like that they’re leaning more into the traveler being their own person in this chapter, I hope they decide to do it more in future quests
Unlike the other archon quests,it doesn’t start with a huge disaster but instead have hints dotted around and taking their time which I don’t know what to think about it just yet but everyone GOT TO agree that this quest is AMAZING I usually never cry but this is the very few that made me shed a tear oh my lord Edit:btw if you disagree I totally understand I’m not some intellectual to quests(I’m just a 12 yr old after all)so I’ll be wrong in some parts(I just made this comment because it didn’t hook me right at the start and it felt weird so I made up a random reason for it while typing out the comment itself) and I don’t really care I just wanted to say what I wanted to at the time but I didn’t expect it to blow up and getting so much opinions on it.well anyways have a good one:D
And also, the mechanic where you think about the answers and get to connect them, and we got more traveler voice lines is always a plus. Definitely one of the most unique and best archon quests
@@starr.empress2 idk i disagree. i really disliked that because there was never any actual "figuring things out on your own", and some of the wrong answers felt like they felt complete perfect sense and alighned perfectly with the information provided. not to mention, that even if you did figure the culprit and the situtation you are in by either noticing the signs in the story and concluding the most likely outcome or taking each figure in the story and judging the possibility of them being the culprit, you could not submit your answer, and wasnt rewarded for thinking ahead. what im saying is, it felt disappointing to me that the bit about solving a problem, the bit where the characters are faced with an actual puzzle for once in this whole game, was so linearly scripted and without consequences. like, honestly, you can just choose to assosiate the ONE option that ALLOWS you to assosiate with each of the other options 1 by 1 until you get a new answer, which for almost all the 'decisions' you had to make was the only correct solution. you could also find said 1 option by simply skipping thru each of the options until the assosiate button pops up big disappointment for me cuz i like puzzles alot, but i can see why some didnt mind it. overall id still say the archon quest was definitivly one of the better ones for sure
I'd disagree, I think they still fall into the same mistake of never having lasting consequences and basically resetting any sense of progress that the story has, ultimately making it feel like a waste of time other than introducing characters, but since there is still a continuation I'll hold off on my thoughts for now, I'll give credit where it's due tho it was well written all the way up until the end where they chickened out of having backed up lasting consequences

Spoiler alert ⚠️ To see Dunyarzad alive and well at the end of the quest was such a relief. Props to Mihoyo for not pulling another Teppei moment with us.
The way Dunyarzard wasn't suppose to leave her house but still made a huge impression on everyone's hearts in a short amount of time she's spent preparing the festival, made me cry a like a damn baby. Well we haven’t exactly saved her and I mean yet! It’s she temporarily okay but not unsafe she (and collie) still suffers from that disease and unless done something about it by either Il Dottore or Baizhu then I’m afraid…
I felt like the song kind of sounded like “fly me to the moon” just a little bit, also, the quests have improved! The animation and the traveler’s expressions, the character’s movements, it’s all getting better. This quest made me cry, gave me a headache and made me sleep very well ..for some odd reason. I love the sumeru quest line :)
Hoyoverse did justice with this archon quest. Slow paced, gave lore about Sumeru and Akasha terminal and the corrupt sages. Great quest!!!!! And Kusanali is such a wise archon. I hope she soon realize about her worth and her powers and kick away that Akasha thingy and sages!!!!!
I actually started crying during the quest, especially during the cutscene, because the entire time I though that that girl wanted to see Nilous dance and that in the end she didn't have the chance to. Glad that in the end she did and that she's alright.
This is why I'm love with Genshin. There are many quests that makes me emotional, but especially this one. I didn't cry because Dunyarzad “died”, but when I saw this scene, I got tears in my eyes for the beautiful it was.

The fact that someone most likely actually danced this to implement in the game similar to Ayaka’s dance is incredible! I wanna see the person who did it.
@@KoeSeer possibly but i don’t think so, ayaka’s dance was much shorter and simpler. this dance is actual classical Persian dance and you’d need professional training to do it that well
I loved this quest honestly, esp the part where we finally got to meet the dendro archon. Nahida in contrast with her design is surprisingly very mature and caring personality wise, she’s an absolute sweetheart. Nilou’s dance, the music and everything was also perfect. However, this quest definitely gave me so much screen headache from all the reading I had to do cuz I wanted to understand what was going on😭
yeah thats true, even thou she is shown as very mature she also lack of common sense and seeing her try to understand human nature is very cute and funny
@@danielwoods3896 yeah is that a problem? i mean its also a bit pitiful/sad because that means she probably never expirienced a "normal" life for a child
Nahida is based on Kusunali Jataka. the idea of Kusunali Jataka is you can’t judge someone knowledge and wisdom by their appearance. in genshin, her appearance might look like a child but she might have more knowledge and wisdom than human adult.
Same! I shouted and I was about to have Aether go on a roaring rampage of revenge against the Akademiya sages, Rambo-style with M60s and rocket launchers.
The way the entire room was fading as she danced as if her dream of doing the Dance of Sabzeruz finally fulfilled. Also the detail with Dunyarzad still watching Nilou dance is just so wholesome to me idk why 😭
Please don’t tell me I was the only the who almost cried after seeing Dunyarzad again in this scene. Also I liked how it look like traveler had no regrets anymore after seeing her watching the dance, you could see it on his face
This is the best archon quest fo feel the story. The writing, characters and certain details is so good, the quest was pretty long but story takes a balanced enough pace to tell. Seeing Dunyarzad as a spirit meant she really is gone, but she actually lives thanks to Nahida which makes this ending perfect.
the frustrations of paimon when she was left behind, and traveler's when she had to channel her anger by beating the eremites made this story alive. best character development i've seen in genshin so far. certainly worth the hours of sitting.
She partially lived thanks to Nahida, though the full truth is that it was simply down to the traveler's luck. It was a miracle that she managed to survive at all. Her being a soul at the end meant that she was very very close to death. If Nilou didn't realize she was in a dream quickly, then Dunyarzad would've passed away.

@@adiaphoros6842 It's not. The less ambiguous form is "the morn brings a thousand roses". This isn't up for interpretation as the verb "brings" is conjugated in the third person singular. "a thousand roses" would be conjugated in the third person plural "bring". Also, it is a direct reference to Quatrain 9 in Omar Khayyam's Rubaiyat, which reads "You say, each day a thousand roses brings" in which the meaning is the same: "the day brings roses", *not* "the roses bring the day". Hope this helped :)
@@solarprogeny6736 “The verb ‘brings’ is conjugated in the third person singular.” You’re right, but that’s because the English translation wants to directly reference the quatrain. You also have to consider what the title means in the context of Genshin. Nilou realizing the flowers on the stage are real Padisarahs is what ends the samsara in the story, so the title should be “A Thousand Roses bring The Morn” to fit the story. Also, the original Chinese title and all the other translations have similar meanings to the corrected English translation.

For real Nahida is probably the most "God"-ish Archon right now. Although she is not omnipotent, she listens and tries to grant her followers wishes. The other known Archon feel more like a guardian or ruler to me.
@@aciesara5444 I agree, It's all about presentation. SPOILERS AHEAD Venti doesn't feel like a god, because he does not perform many god-like duties during the time we are with him. Zhongli doesn't feel like a god, but more of a guardian, because we had the fact that he would save Liyue in an instant if things went wrong drilled into our heads. He also has the adepti. Ei feels like a ruler- because she is one. She is literally a direct ruler of her nation. She is supposed to feel like a ruler, because that is what separated her from Zhongli and Venti to the players, who were on the sidelines. It had to be exaggerated. Kusanali cannot do anything, because she is so young. So she does as much as she can and is allowed to, because a lot of people do not believe in her. She is a child: she craves validation and will do what she can to receive it though her 7 or so followers, compared to the entire population of Sumeru, Anything can be done by anyone if it is in small amounts. It would be impossible to listen and grant all of her followers' wishes if there were millions of them.
I really enjoyed playing the Sumeru Archon quest. The story, the music, the pacing, the characters, the dialogue, the excecution, ... They were just amazing!
I don't think it's over. I think this is just the prologue since we haven't dealt with the Akademiya, the desert part if still locked so we still have more, we still don't know what happened to the Divine Capsule that Al Haitham got at the end of Act I and the most important, we still haven't dealt with the Irminsul crisis. Tho I completely agree that what we got in the current Sumeru Archon Quest is by far the most intriguing Archon Quest so far. Tho I have to say that the Inazuma and Liyue ones had more epic cutscenes, not more beautiful, more epic.
@@Saryn. I'm leaning towards Dottore because his connection to Sumeru seems much bigger than Scaramouche's. He also has a backstory with Collei who is now in Sumeru. This quest didn't have as many dazzling cutscenes or musical numbers or any hugely emotional scenes like some other quests. But in my opinion it was the best one so far, because it was so well-written that it didn't NEED to dazzle you or break your heart or sound pretty. It was fun to play through, insanely so. And that is nuts because it almost entirely took place in one spot, and we did nothing except talk for nearly the whole quest. Yet it was so captivating. I did not once want to skip any of the dialogue. It was so great unravelling the mystery, and I thought the concept of a 'time loop' was really cool. Things got serious in this quest. Also, hearing Lumine speak so much was great.
Agreed!!! Unravelling the mystery gave me so much anticipation and this entire quest kept me guessing about what will even come next because usually some scenarios are predictable but for this one, i had no idea how it would even play out

God is three in one; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Bless him!!
As I am led by the Holy Spirit, nothing I state is a lie, but the truth of God. Anyone who tells you differently is misinformed or a liar. They do not know God, nor led by him.
When you trust in God and cast your cares (worries, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts) upon him, they will be NO MORE!
Know that there is power in the name Jesus Christ! His name casts out demons and heals!
The world is wicked, evil, and of the devil. I too, was a wicked sinner of the world before I opened my heart to God. I am living proof of God's work and fruitfulness! He is an active God who hears the prayers of his! God's children are set apart (holy) and righteous. The devil is a liar that comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy; that includes your relationship with God!

Fun Fact: The name Dunyarzad is a character based on the series of middle eastern tales called 'One Thousand and One Nights'. Dunyarzad is the younger sister of Scheherazade , the main character in the series (really fascinating story, google it if you have a chance). Anyway, the opening music 0:00 - 0:37 is based on the symphonic suite
Scheherazade by RImsky Korsakov. Definitely one of my favourite orchestral pieces. If you like the opening of this, check it out!

You can listen to the voice acting in the character profile
@@jenthejenius Yeah but that's more like a gimmick inherited from cheap mobile gachas. Genshin is a role play video game not a voiced book.

And also, the mechanic where you think about the answers and get to connect them, and we got more traveler voice lines is always a plus. Definitely one of the most unique and best archon quests
@@starr.empress2 idk i disagree. i really disliked that because there was never any actual "figuring things out on your own", and some of the wrong answers felt like they felt complete perfect sense and alighned perfectly with the information provided.
not to mention, that even if you did figure the culprit and the situtation you are in by either noticing the signs in the story and concluding the most likely outcome or taking each figure in the story and judging the possibility of them being the culprit, you could not submit your answer, and wasnt rewarded for thinking ahead.
what im saying is, it felt disappointing to me that the bit about solving a problem, the bit where the characters are faced with an actual puzzle for once in this whole game, was so linearly scripted and without consequences.
like, honestly, you can just choose to assosiate the ONE option that ALLOWS you to assosiate with each of the other options 1 by 1 until you get a new answer, which for almost all the 'decisions' you had to make was the only correct solution.
you could also find said 1 option by simply skipping thru each of the options until the assosiate button pops up
big disappointment for me cuz i like puzzles alot, but i can see why some didnt mind it. overall id still say the archon quest was definitivly one of the better ones for sure

"The Morn a Thousand Roses Brings"
The dreamers wake to a dawn unveild by the Sabzeruz dance.
The title is so fitting and damn poetic.
it's the morning that brings roses, not the roses that bring the morning.
Can also be interpreted as
"The morning a thousand festival brings"
Since we're repeating the festival countless times
@@solarprogeny6736 To be less grammatically ambiguous, "The morn THAT a thousand rose brings." So the roses bring the morning.
@@solarprogeny6736 “The verb ‘brings’ is conjugated in the third person singular.”
You’re right, but that’s because the English translation wants to directly reference the quatrain.

I cried when Dunyarzad said she had Eleazar and then her consciousness disappeared. I thought she is dead by that time but thanks Nahida saved her. I cried too when she appeared to see Nilou dance.
For real Nahida is probably the most "God"-ish Archon right now. Although she is not omnipotent, she listens and tries to grant her followers wishes. The other known Archon feel more like a guardian or ruler to me.

Venti doesn't feel like a god, because he does not perform many god-like duties during the time we are with him.

@@satorugojo6229 It also seems like we'll have to deal with Dottore or Scaramouche at some point so there's more main story there too!
@@Saryn. I'm leaning towards Dottore because his connection to Sumeru seems much bigger than Scaramouche's. He also has a backstory with Collei who is now in Sumeru. The main quest was definitely and upgrade from the Inazuman one! I also loved the amount of times traveler talked as well, good job hoyoverse!
It’s also proof that if the traveler talked more (as in if their lines were voiced by their VA’s) it would be much much better, but the heart of story isn’t just the characters but also the journey and Zhongli said; “Every Journey has it’s final day, don’t rush”. Sometimes Mihoyo should also listen to their own characters’ advice.
Ngl I shed some tears while doing the story quest.. They've really outdone themselves with Sumeru. The music and environment is truly amazing! Kudos to Hoyoverse! I can't wait for whatever they have in store for us!
Nilou is so elegant an poised. It’s like watching an otherworldly being dance.
As an oneironaut, I am REALLY impressed by the thought you put in how dreams work. I absolutely loved the explanation of how schemas affect dreams by the "plate containing food" metaphor: not even Inception or Lucid Dreams in Netflix had such a good understanding of them!
